I gave it a couple stars just because the restaurant looked nicely set up and whatever was cooking smelled great. Second time trying to try this place and a second strike out. This time the excuse was that someone had broken down on the way there and so they couldn't serve anyone. We had to call out after entering as there was noone to be found. They said that maybe after 6 they could seat us. As it was quarter to we asked if we could sit and wait and were told no. Watched multiple people come and walk out while we were in the parking area trying to figure out where else to go. Don't think I will give it a third try. Atleast not until they work on their customer service skills.

The owner's hospitality was outstanding, and the cuisine was truly remarkable—a hidden gem indeed. It's among the select few eateries on the island that I'd eagerly revisit.

My dining experience at Carbones was exceptional from the friendly owner/server who made sure we were taken care of from the moment we arrived to when we left.The food is incredible, I had the fig and goat cheese pizza and the funghi half and half. I loved every morsel, there was enough to bring home too!I recommend this as a date night or family evening out!

So, I finally tried Carbone Pizzeria and let me tell you, it was amazing! ?? We ordered takeout of the House Funghi and BBQ Short Rib pizzas, and they were absolutely delicious. The flavors were on point! And let's talk about the size - we got the 18" pizza, and it was humongous! It was definitely worth the price. The service was top-notch too, which made the whole experience even better. I highly recommend giving Carbone Pizzeria a try if you're in the mood for some mouthwatering pizza! ???

Wow wow wow. Owner did a half and half. Carbonne and lamb and my God was it incredible. Also lovely area to sit when waiting for your za to go. Had a wine and good chats while I waited. Highly recommend. Taken first spot in my za on the island.

Absolutely incredible experience dining here. We hosted our work Christmas party here last year and rented out the space for the evening. The owner was incredible and provided above and beyond service for the best night!
The food is awesome. Best pizza in Nanaimo. However, they post open for 4 and don't have a server. Waited around 45 minutes because we wanted to eat there only to be told that they had no server until 5. On a Friday too. Update your hours please. It's pretty obnoxious.

Stopped in to try what was suggested to me as a great local place to eat and it Definitely did not disappoint ?. The owner who was very personable and friendly steered me towards a Pizza that was ABSOLUTELY ON POINT (Half White Vesuvio + Half Gladiator I believe it was called). Terrific FRESH ingredients and a great flavor combination all laid out on what I would call a perfect crust. 5 stars... I would definitely recommend.

Can’t say enough about this place, my husband and I went last night and had the most fabulous time. The service was amazing and we had the most amazing food.. The waiter ( Parm) was so knowledgeable about wines and food, we were treated so well. We can’t wait to go back ( with friends) thank you Parm ..George and Barbara ?
