A great little dive bar with a fun karaoke night.
The Quarterway is one of my all-time top three places to do karaoke. Yes, it’s your classic dive bar, but the staff is always great, and the atmosphere is peak mid-island. I moved away from Nanaimo in 2025, but I always prioritize visiting the Quarterway for karaoke when I find myself in town on a Friday or Saturday night.
Went for lunch and our server was great! Stayed for the meat draw. Good food!

The Quarterway burger is highly recommended for burger lovers, being one of the best some have ever had, with in-house made patties noted for their excellence. Guests have enjoyed appetizers like deep-fried cauliflower and zucchini, lightly dusted with curry powder, and calamari that was cooked correctly. The menu includes basic options like soup and sandwiches, which satisfy without complaints. The pub also features great music and a great atmosphere, making it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. Despite some variability in food quality, many guests find value in returning for the friendly environment and good service, where the staff is often welcoming and accommodating.
