“I always get takeout but sushi here is really great! They're respectful of allergies, ingredients are cleared labeled so no surprise there. I don't even like sushi but if I'm in the mood to boost some omega 3, I always go to this place. It's perfect for people who like authentic sushi/sashimi but also if they prefer their sushi drowned in avocados and sauce(like me). The restaurant seems like a nice place for family or dates. Quality of fish is good, I'm not an expert but it tastes good and I have never gotten sick.“

“I found this spot randomly on my google search and i am glad I took a chance. Saw all the amazing reviews and it was a must try and it did not disappoint. The broth was delicious all by it's self and it didn't have that extra over the top MSG flavor. Customer service was very welcoming and the lady in the front was all smiles. Thank you for my first time experience and this is definitely has became my go to spot.Vegetarian options: Tofu vegetables pho is a must try“

“We had dinner reservations there with a friend from out of town and let me tell you it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in the service was amazing. We were greeted and welcomed. The food and ambiance were amazing. Drinks were also so very good!! Would highly recommend it!!“

“Absolutely outstanding. Instead of our usual sushi + sashimi, we went with three rolls. Angel, a protein roll (no rice), and the {gifted} salmon roll. I can’t begin to articulate how beautiful and fresh and DIFFERENT each one tasted. Everything top notch. While I truly enjoy dthe previous owners/menu {mainly because of proximity and convenience to home}, the new owners have completely revamped decor, menu, service and WOW what an improvement. My new favorite!“
“This is one of my favorite go-to places to take friends when we don't know where else to go. When the Packing House is just too packed, Rodeo 39 has so many more options without the large crowd making it a great food hall to come with friends who aren't very good at unanimously choosing a restaurant. My personal favorite places are Banh Xeo Boys for the Banh Xeo, Kare for their katsu curry, phoholic for pho (of course), Steel Pan Pizza for their mushroom pizza, and Shootz for their Kimchi Butter Shrimp. Honorable mentions are Tenori and the Mexican restaurant that unfortunately, I can't remember the name of. Grab your food and choose a nice spot on the patio or inside by the bar to grab a drink later and enjoy the variety of options they provide with relatively reasonable prices.“

“Always good, thin rice surrounding the roll is a good sign of a good sushi roll, fish always fresh and melts in your mouth...I'm a big Wasabi user and they provided two different types for me to try, the lumpy almost salsa looking kind was so good, just spread on roll and eat, the other was what you'd normally find... it was good.Parking: Plenty right in front, never had a problem finding a spot“

“We've been going here pretty much since they opened and we now go at least once a week. The food is great! The prices are very reasonable. The owner always provides us with great service. A very humble hardworking individual. Always happy to see us, wants to accommodate us and misses us if we miss one week. He treats us like family. This alone makes us want to support him more. Most of the time we have the Combo B and Combo C, it's what we like, but we've also had the Philadelphia roll, Tempura and Gyoza and truly we've loved everything they've made for us. I also love that the restaurant is very neat, clean and organized. The atmosphere its very relaxing. Usually theres the nice music playing on the background and a couple of TV's. Its perfect for us. It's very rare to find all of these pluses in one place. For all the good we will continue to support it.“

“Came here with my friends after Sake2Me had closed down their waitlist, but honestly I don't regret it one bit. We had a great time here with their service and quality of fish! The AYCE Sushi price here is $42.99 for the regular menu options. I honestly think that's enough choices for that price. Food takes a bit to come out and comes out sporadically. The quality of the fish was enough to make it worth it. We gobbled up every round so quick! I have to come back here whenever I'm craving good sushi in LB.“

“Everything I have ordered has been top notch and when I order I never doubt what I get will be something that will beat my expectations. I love going here when I am looking for a good variety of sushi. I have gotten many of the rolls to share with my family and different combos that really work well together. Also they offer a great selection of extras, and great packaging for very good prices makes it the best place to choose in the area.“

“Loved every single thing we ordered here! The quality of the sushi was seriously melt in your mouth. Parking absolutely sucked, we drove around the blocks multiple times until we came up on street parking behind the alley somewhere. It wasn't terribly busy, got there around 7:30 and was seated in 10 minutes as parties were leaving. The yuzu roll was such an explosion of beautiful flavors combined in your mouth, 10/10 recommend for yellowtail lovers! Ambience was dim, not too noisy and the music was quaint. Would definitely come back to this place next time I'm in the area.“

“Just had a fantastic meal at Akai Asian Bistro in Huntington Park! I tried the spicy seafood noodle soup (jjampong) and the black bean noodle (jjajangmyeon), and both dishes were outstanding. It's hard to find authentic Korean-Chinese style jjajangmyeon and jjampong around the Vernon area, but Akai nails it with flavors that are rich and broths that hit the spot. Don't forget to ask for extra yellow pickled radish (danmuji) for that perfect side crunch. The interior is cozy with plenty of tables, creating a comfortable dining atmosphere, and our server was extremely attentive, enhancing our experience. Can't wait to return to try the sweet & sour pork and sweet chili fried shrimp. Akai Asian Bistro is definitely a gem for anyone in the area looking for great Asian cuisine.“

“The staff are friendly. We enjoyed the Kitchen boat. The garlic fried rice with chicken was very good and tasted similar to hibachi fried rice. Brought my young nephews and they enjoyed the beef and chicken teriyaki. Will definitely come again and will try other sushi and noodles dishes.“
“A friend suggested Midori 5 for lunch so we met there. We got Bento boxes and I was pleasantly surprised. It came with a bowl of Miso soup, mixed tempura, a Cali roll, salad, and teriyaki chicken. Everything was delicious and it was more than enough food for lunch. There weren't very many people there midweek lunchtime, but the servers were very attentive and kind and we ended up sitting and chatting for a long time and never filled any pressure to leave. It's in a little strip mall, nothing fancy, but good food and clean. I will definitely be coming back.“

“Yaho grill has been my go to spot for years now! They serve a healthy, cost-effective option at a great price. Portions are great and everything they have on the menu is worth trying! This family owned spot is 100% worth trying, it's miles better than Waba Grill / Flame Broiler. The lady who works the front is always super hospitable. Try the orange and hot sauce and ask them to make the meat spicy!“

“Great food. Great service. Parking lot present, not the biggest but there is street parking. There was a line, but I would say it was worth it :) they also provided gloves, soy sauce, wasabi packets and wipes !! Seating available but hard to grab when popular. Got the myungnam crab, salmon and bulgogi. Likes the crab best, then salmon. Then I would probably get something else instead of bulgogi but it was still good.“

“This place is 5/5! Some of the best sushi I have ever had. Their service is top tier. They gave us extra pieces of sashimi and special dishes from the chef. I wish I didn’t live so far away.Presentation and quality of fish was superb. If you are a sushi lover and in the area, this is hands down the best sushi!Recommend the butter salmon, it is not what it sounds like. It’s still raw and chilled.“

“My friend and I came here on a Monday around 6pm. It wasn't too busy so we got seated right away, but you may want to make a reservation just in case. Nice, clean location. The servers were friendly, attentive, and regularly changed our grills. We enjoyed our AYCE bbq. We picked the Silver menu because it had all the protein and appetizers we wanted. You also get ice cream at the end of your meal. It costs around $76 for two people.“

“Finally made it here!! My husband and I went here for date night recently and we ordered the two kinds of meat, the creamy udon, and the cheese tonkatsu. We happen to come on a Friday night a little after they open and luckily it wasn't busy just yet. The service was really fast and the quality of the meat was amazing! The cheese tonkatsu was a bit heavier so by the time we finished grilling our meats and eating some of the udon, we were too full to finish the cheese tonkatsu. The creamy udon is a beef curry udon with a topped layer of this special cream that has this grainy texture similar to mashed potatoes. It was good to try, but I wouldn't get it again. I'll probably try the other noodles that they offer. I really enjoyed the concept of grilling the meat in front of you to your liking. It comes as a set so it was a perfect meal. Will be back with some friends!“

“Came here for Mother's Day with family and it was good but not that great to be honest! It definitely satisfies the shabu craving but Cal Shabu (both locations) still reigns supreme for me. There is a bar area available and a few table options. Servers were friendly and very attentive! Restaurant was nice and clean as well. What we ordered: -Original broth: I got the original broth which had green onions and mushrooms inside. After cooking a lot my marinated meat, I tasted the broth and it wasn't very flavorful but I'm thinking that just how original is. 3/5 -SH flat iron "mokkoji cut": I shared this with my brother and we got it marinated. The marinade looked like some sort of brown sauce with a generous amount of garlic, green onion, and sesame seeds. The meat was tender and very yummy by itself and even better with the ponzu sauce. Between the two of us, we were still kind of hungry after so we ended up getting Korean corn dogs few doors down from this spot. Meat 5/5. -sauces: I personally liked the ponzu sauce better than the goma. The ponzu just had a better, lighter flavor whereas the goma had a really strong nutty taste that was borderline bitter. I wasn't a huge fan of the sauces here though. Ponzu 4/5, Goma 2/5 -veggies: There was a good variety of veggies but the cabbage was kind of bitter and I wasn't personally a fan of the options. 3/5 -chicken wings: These were pretty good! Very sticky and saucy but yummy! They tasted kind of like guppy house popcorn chicken if you've had that, but much more flavorful and saucy. 4/5 Overall, service was awesome here and food was good! Meat was good quality but I just wasn't a fan of the veggie choices and sauces. Every shabu place has its own unique spin and this place is no different. This place is pretty good for if you're craving shabu and you're looking for something local.“

“The food is off the charts, beef melts in your mouth and the chicken is softer than the beef... The rice is a good team member and plays it's role perfectly. “Came here with a friend during Dine Long Beach week and tried the special. I really liked the atmosphere, location and service were all great. As far as the food, both my friend and I felt the fried oysters were soggy, and the shrimp and egg sushi were really dry. I'd rate the food 3 stars but bumped it up to 4 for service and ambience. I'd try it again but maybe with something of the regular menu.“

“Everything was delicious! Been wanting to try it since people were taking about in a Bellflower FB group. Good portions. We tried a salmon bowl and a premium combo with filet mignon, steak and chicken. We did fried rice with everything and we ordered a chicken fried rice separate. We tried the Diablo sauce and the chili garlic sauce. Will go again and try the other sauces.“
