“As a Taiwanese person who grew up in boba land, I can tell you that the boba milk tea is pretty good. It's more towards milky end instead of rich tea flavor ones. Their original recipe is not too sweet so there's no point to adjust the sweetness. Or just ask the owner to make his favorite ratio. You should totally give it a try. “One of my favorite juiceries of ALL TIME! Living in San Diego, their products are always in local farmers markets in the area selling pita bread/chips, hummus and yogurts. The juices on the other hand can only be bought here at this location and are not made during farmer market set ups. At Brothers, you pick your drink from the set menu or you can even create your own and choose which fruits and vegetables you want. They prepare it by putting them in a colander, washing and prepping it, then it goes into the juicer. ALL fruits and veggies get manually juiced. I've been to other places that would pour orange juice rather than juicing an actual orange, so good thing this place does everything right! Very competitive prices compared to other juiceries and some of the best hummus around. Check out the crazy mix or kitchen sink! The store is conveniently located right across from Chuze Fitness so gym goers can get their post workout smoothies. I make sure to swing by every time I'm in town.“

“Okay, I'll be honest, I didn't even know this boba shop existed until I was a quarter of a mile away at a different coffee shop. Both shops participate in Fivestars, but the coffee shop I went to had a rogue reward that I had driven all the way there for. Turns out the reward wasn't applicable to me, and on the wrong day as well. I was originally planning on going to that coffee shop before visiting a couple of parks nearby, but without some caffeine, I wouldn't have had the energy to stretch my legs at those parks. I almost thought I would have had to go to La Mirada instead, but when I pulled up Fivestars, I saw this boba shop just a quarter mile away on Rosecrans between Shoemaker and Maryton. And there was a BOGO reward available. I also saw on Yelp a check-in offer of 20% off. Knowing that a Fivestars and Yelp offer could be honored at once at some participating businesses, I wanted to see if I could get two for less than the price of one. As soon as I arrived, there were a couple of bobaristas and a customer waiting for his order. That customer had a pretty large order, hence why he waited for quite some time, even after my arrival. The male bobarista (Luke?) was happy to answer my questions about the menu. I was searching for options with caffeine, and Luke recommended either the Milk Teas or the Iced Teas. I believe he said the Milk Teas had more caffeine, but I didn't want two high-caffeine drinks, so I settled for Iced Teas on both of my drinks. They have plenty of iced tea options, all of which were priced at $5.50. Two of them had hearts by their names: Morning Sunshine and Firefly. The hearts denote a customer favorite, but it was early in the afternoon, and I thought drinking a Morning Sunshine in the afternoon would have been quite the anachronism. So between the two, I went with the Firefly. What about the other drink for the BOGO? I went with Crimson Lady, and the only reason I chose that was because of the word Crimson. At a boba shop up in Washington state, I tried a slushie with the word Crimson and loved it, so I figured I'd love this one too! Clearly, my logic was flawed because it wasn't as tasty, but then again, I shouldn't be comparing an iced tea to a slushie lol. The flavor was more prominent in the Firefly than the Crimson Lady, hence why the former is a customer favorite. Both drinks, which are made out of green tea, were pretty good overall, and they were a great substitute to the drink I was originally planning to get at the *other* coffee shop. The wait for my two drinks was a little longer than usual. About 7 minutes, and there were a few other customers who came in after I did. It wasn't excessive, and I'm sure one of the reasons for the extended wait was the bobaristas making my drinks with love. However, I'd be a little apprehensive about waiting in line to order if it usually takes this long to prepare the drinks. I was also a little concerned that I wouldn't know which drink was which, but turns out I didn't need to be since they had labeled each drink with a sticker. Toppings are a half dollar to a dollar each. I chose crystal pearls for both iced teas, and they were QQ. However, they did get clumpy at the bottom of each drink, so it was quite the struggle to sip each and every pearl through my boba straws. I sat in the shop for a while, but decided to leave after a few sips. That is, until I grabbed a napkin and noticed a post-it with the WiFi info. After connecting to their WiFi, I stayed a little longer to use my phone. There are only a few tables inside the small shop, and the tables aren't that large, so try not to plan on getting work done there. It's a nice place to kick back and relax in the middle of a road trip, especially given its close proximity to the 5 freeway. I'm not really into KPOP, but if you're a fan of BTS and boba, this is a must stop. I'm guessing the name BesTeas came from an interpolation of two letters into each pair of adjacent letters, so if you were to play a round“

“A cute boba shop located in a plaza with plenty of food options serving up refreshing drinks and tea! Gung Ho focuses on a simple menu for their drinks and also sell yogurt cubes as a specialty item. I got their Strawberry Tornado and it was rich and creamy. They use fresh strawberries and blend it with their crème brulee. I would definitely recommend ordering this one or one of their other tornado drinks! Service was good and the staff was helpful. The interior is bright and colorful and there's some seating available inside. Parking is also easy to find since it's in a big plaza.“

“Delicious food and smoothies! I had the chicken salad sandwich and it was the best I’ve found. The honey mustard salad dressing on my green salad was amazing. My husband was actually adding it to his chicken sandwich. We enjoyed the vegetable split pea soup down to the last drop. This lovely little restaurant has a very friendly vibe and we could hear repeat customers engaging the owner in conversation and laughter. We plan to become repeat customers too.“

“I used to frequent Bambu growing up and all the ones in my area closed. I saw this spot next to the restaurant I was having dinner at and knew I was going to be getting dessert from here. If I just hadn't had a pasta dinner, I would have ordered a Chewy Pandan but I knew that would be too filling so I opted for the Jelly Coco. The Jelly Coco is coconut water based instead of coconut milk so it's more refreshing and lighter. It fruits (coconut, lychee, longan) and fun pandan and basil seed bits. We were there arounf 30 minutes before closing and although there were a few people who ordered ahead of us, we still got our drinks fairly quick. Podong is a uniquely Korean inspired boba shop with some of the most interesting drink concoctions. This spot is located in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots and you can find it next to the Gold's gym. Once you walk in, you'll be greeted by a modern nostalgic street style type of interior. They do a great job of juxtaposing nostalgic and retro themes with modern and streetwear ones. As for their drinks, they have such a variety to choose from. Wifey and I opted for the Korean pear slush and the injeolmi slush and both were super refreshing with flavors uniquely Korean. The staff here are awesome and very friendly. We will definitely be back to try their other drinks next time we're in the area!“
