Chapala Bakery #2 Reviews
First time coming here.Went in for Rosca and some pan dulce. I purchased a small rosca ($25), 8 bollillos, 6 mini conchas and 5 pan dulces... I was charged $50! . Highway robbery!! I will give them that, the flavor of the buttery conchas and bolillos are soft and delicious.
I brought home a bunch of pan dulce, it was good but not anything I would go out of my way for.I was really disappointed in the tamales. They are skimpy on the filling and heavy on the masa.I grew up helping my momma make tamales and she always told me you don't skimp on the filling. That's not cool, not then and not now.

I wanted to say a few words after reading many reviews.I have been buying pan dulce from chapala Bakery in East LA since they opened. If this Bakery in pasadena is owned by the same family, I would assume that the bread is great in taste.I've tasted pan dulce from many places in the San Gabriel Valley, as well as LA county and Chapala Bakery in East LA, which is my personal favorite. They are pricey but quality cost more.
