But minuscule (the dancing guy outside was I his own world).“

“Their charbroiled garlic chicken over fries drenched in garlic au jus is unique and worth the 15 mile drive from home. I normally go to the Pico Union one but this one has easier parking and more seating. They also have more selection but I've never gotten anything but the chicken. It was hot and fresh and as always addicting.“

No more making the drive in traffic out to Savoy in Alhambra when craving for Hainan chicken rice. It's a small restaurant tucked behind Popeye's fried chicken adjacent to Auntie Anne's pretzel and Jamba Juice. They have a limited menu that specializes in chicken rice. For my first try I kept it simple with Hainan chicken rice to go order. There is regular and a larger size portions. The perfectly sliced boneless chicken sits on top of ginger chicken broth flavored rice comes with minced cucumber slices, and three sauces sambal, soy sauce, and ginger sauce. There is also a small side of chicken broth. The chicken tastes clean, no MSG detected. Next time I'll be back to try the fried chicken. No cash accepted, pay by cashless credit card or Apple Pay at the kiosk.“

“Finally got around to trying Daves, honestly Howling Rays set the bar pretty high imo. But gotta say, for being a chain, Daves does it right. Its really good. Pick your spice level, bread is soft, condiments are good, and the sauce OMGee. I cant still understand how you can get freshness out the drive-thru... but it works. Got my order to go ate in the car. Pro-Tip: Must be eaten right away even to go orders, eat in your car to avoid the mushiness.“
