“Had Latte light roast, London fog tea, sparkling drinks. Good coffee - only place I saw where you could choose your roast for espresso drink, most coffee places offer one standard espresso mostly darker and bitter but here is where these people shine with roast options to choose. Average Tea - was sweeter and strong vanilla flavour that completely hides tea flavor. Would be better without vanilla and stronger tea flavor. Sparkling drinks were good. Didn't find any sweet vegan bites (cookies, muffins, cakes etc.) to go with coffee.This coffee place charges extra for non-dairy substitutes (oat/almond milk)- so regressive for such a cool and modern coffee place. Philz rocks for this reason.“

“So flavorful and delicious! The French toast had the perfect amount of sweetness. The cheesesteak might be a bit cheesy for some, but I enjoyed it and the steak pieces were tender and juicy! The Dino rib pieces were so soft and tender and juicy as well and was happy with the choice of adding the bone marrow. Lastly, the takoyaki was one of the best I've ever had. Will definitely be coming back again to try more!“

“Aw man, sometimes I have to learn the hard way, but freedom comes through peace. And oftentimes, peace comes from finding the spark, the gratitude in the simple pleasures. I was humbled once again today regarding the weaknesses of humans in the light of temporary and immediate gain. Sadly, it takes a few times of running into a wall to realize that going back to Square 1 is the best option (except you're not really starting from the beginning because you will have gained much wisdom through the challenge of saying "no" to yourself. I got to meet up with a friend after what seemed like months (it was) and got a glimpse into what it was like when being faced with different life paths to take. "Which path is the right one?" is often the question we ask at every crossroads we encounter. Thankfully, Academic Coffee provided a lovely, bright, and clean ambiance that allowed for chatting and some good coffee. I love how they have their own beans. I got their drip coffee (Rose Garden) and liked how the floral notes complimented the more chocolate notes. Service was efficient and friendly.“

They also have some decent food options. I tried their overnight oats, as a recommendation from the barista, and enjoyed it.I was also really impressed by the MASSIVE seating area. There are tons of seats inside and out front. Seems like a really nice spot to just grab a coffee and relax. “I heard from a buddy it was the best doughnut shop in the area (he's a bit of a connoisseur) and I totally agree. It's our go-to now when we want doughnuts.Parking: 10ish spots. It's popular and some cars were double parked. I don't know if you can park at nearby locations. I said difficult, but it hasn't been too hard if you time it right.“

“We called ahead to order pastries for Mother's Day because they don't have the full menu online. The service over the phone was incredible, they were patient, and talked me through several of their desserts. We settled on almost everything: lemon tarts, mango cake, chocolate croissant, eclairs, and leek parmesan pastries. When we arrived for pickup the morning of it was packaged beautifully and ready to go when we walked in. They were so appreciative for the business, in addition to their excellent service. Great customer experience! The pastries were outstanding: the lemon tart is properly tart, but has a delicious marshmallowy topping that is toasted for just a touch of texture. The only other place that does lemon tarts this well is Giving Pies. The mango cake was delicious: not too sweet, great cake, and good mango flavor. The eclairs have a load of chocolate on top, in addition to perfect texture and great cream filling. Chocolate croissants are always good, but hard to differentiate, this one didn't stand out, but it was a good croissant. The leek parmesan had great crispy but soft texture, a beautiful lattice top layer, and really tasty filling that somehow wasn't too salty. Perfect experience, and can't wait to go back and get it all again.“

“What a great spot! Decaf coffee is impressive. This is my first visit. I was surprised to learn. There is no Wi-Fi. They did it by design to promote communication and interaction. The menu is also quite varied - with many options to choose from and as a bonus the meat here is all halal! (Signage everywhere) The only room for improvement would be in the service. The servers, although attentive and friendly were very slow (even though it wasn't crowded). The food took a while to come out and the order didn't all come together. So there are minor improvements they could do here to make it all run smoother. Overall - we enjoyed the delicious food and loved the ambience too!“

“After school my little one craved some shaved ice. I wasn't sure where to go but I came across this spot while searching and we decided to give it a go. I'm glad we did it was delicious. I got the raspberry lychee shaved ice and it was perfect. My boyfriend tried his with condensed milk and enjoyed it, I tried and it made it take more like an ice cream. Not bad! The staff was friendly and welcoming. The vibe definitely gives that Hawaii vibe and there is some seating available inside too. We will be back.“

The jelly filled bar is soo good, good price for the quality, and I really love the raspberry jelly filled one because it reminds me of my childhood. “The workers were generous with the ice cream samples. I tried the Super Black Chocolate and regular Chocolate, both were smooth and tasty. My sister tried the pistachio gelato, she said it was good but it felt like there was a sour after taste to it.I ordered the strawberry banana nutella crepe and added an extra scoop of chocolate gelato which is delicious. The crepe batter might have been a little bit thick so the crepe wasn't as light as some of the Japanese crepes places I've been to, but overall it was good, with plenty of bananas and strawberries. I will come back again when I crave some gelato.We wanted to try the waffle bites but they crossed it out from the menu. Not sure if they'll bring it back again.The location is right near the children's play area in the mall so there were a lot of screaming kids while we sat down to eat, so I'd recommend finding a spot a bit further away if you get crepes/waffles or just to-go it.“

“It's been a while since my last visit to Rollo's but I'm glad to see that they are still as popular as ever. I used to have their glazed and chocolate covered raised donuts at work on Mondays and have always thought the dough quality was top notch. I came by for donuts myself maybe once or twice a couple of years ago, then sadly stopped coming around because I moved away from the area. More than once I'd stop by after sneaking away early for lunch only to find that they had sold out of donuts an hour before closing. During my most recent visit, I made sure to head over during breakfast hours to avoid being disappointed again. I would recommend getting any of the raised donuts, especially the glazed since that one always looks the best. I'm usually a donut hole lover but the donut holes here just don't have the same draw to them as the donuts themselves (not that they're bad but just notably less great). I'm not personally a big fan of cake donuts but I heard that the ones here are done with a little extra cinnamon, so if that's your thing then go for it but if it isn't then steer clear. They do take credit card which is always one of my concerns when it comes to donut shops. On the latest visit I was surprised to find one extra glazed donut in the bag, reading other reviews I guess a bonus donut or two isn't uncommon but I thought that was only for orders of a dozen or larger. Guess it doesn't hurt to mention which donut is your favorite while inside the store.“

Vibez: a pop up at the Rose Garden farmers market, located in the parking lot lot across the street from Lincoln High School, you're know you're at the right spot when you approach the green tent with the mobile espresso maker. Parking is plentiful, short walk from where you park to the market. Market itself is only about 12 tents, but good vege/fruit selection despite limited vendors! Nastar Lattee: The short of it is that it is a medium sweet latte with subtle notes of pineapple flavor. I had it with whole milk, and all the flavors worked great. The medium fruity sweetness it's the tastebuds first, followed by the milky coffee notes. Pandan steamer: for kids I assume, which is why my wife got it. Not super sweet, but sweet enough. Great grassy vanilla coconut pandan flavors, was pleasant sip after sip until the end“

“Really good boba! ✨however, my main complaint is that their non-tea milk boba must have caffeine. this is the second time I’ve gotten the strawberry marble boba and it’s kept me up quite late. Just be mindful if you’re sensitive to caffeine. It’s unfortunate though, because this could be made clear, similar to other boba shops. Also to note: substituted milks don’t appear to be an option— at least not on the order kiosks. Regardless- delicious boba, friendly staff, and cozy/convenient lounge space for meeting up or getting work done.“

“Great local shop. We went here after going to the Farmers Market across the street last Sunday. Wish we had gone in before! Went in for a hot coffee and a latte, both were good. Then we decided to try one of their sandwiches. Gotta say it was a very good roast beef sandwich. Customer service was very good, everyone is so friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be making this a regular stop. There are a few tables inside along with two counters with bar stools. There's also a covered area outside with several tables and chairs which will be great on the warm summer days.“

“came here because i saw someone walking out with a thai tea and had a craving for one. got one and was shocked! easily best thai tea of my life. i shared it with my boyfriend and he also loved it. we came back today because he was craving it. i decided to try the vietnamese coffee and it also hit the spot!!! we were the only two people in the store and were eyeing the donuts but didn't buy as we were on the way to breakfast. the kind worker gave us free donut holes!!! she was so kind and made our morning! the shop is small but shows all pricing on a large sign and all the donuts look delicious! we will be coming back several more times“

“Co cola Bakery is one of the best bakery, I have ever seen. They have the best coffees and food, than anywhere that I have ever been to. The workers are also very nice, friendly and very respectful. “Been going to Maple Leaf Donuts for years and will miss Mary. Recently went for the first time under new ownership and met a nice woman behind the counter named Tia, who was very friendly and efficient. She accurately assembled my 1 doz donuts in a new flat style box, not the pink tallish square box I was so used to all these years. It''ll take some getting used to, but the advantage of the flat box is all donuts are now easily displayed (& accessible) when the box is opened - vs. being tightly slotted sideways in the pink box. All the donuts looked the same visually - which is a compliment to the new donut maker. I can't speak to the taste of the dozen donuts as they were given as a gift. I did order an apple fritter & old fashioned for myself - compliments to the current donut maker, both tasted like Maple Leaf Donuts - I'll need a few more visits to confirm for consistency of the product, but it seems they're following the previous recipes, techniques & process. Also the new owners put up a couple of flat screens that display all their menu items. Hopefully Almaden and the surrounding area gives the new owners a chance and continue to support local small businesses like Maple Leaf Donuts“

“I had to run an errand in the area and wanted to find a coffee shop nearby. Aside from Starbucks, I found The Coffee Cup that was down the street. I'd rather support a local small business, so I stopped by cafe. They had a variety of food items to offer including pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and banh mi. Since I had to have a $10 minimum charge on my credit card and they didn't make banh mi until lunch, I got a couple of pastries including a guava croissant and a pineapple cream cheese croissant. The pastries were for my friend, and she mentioned that she specifically enjoyed the guava one. I got an iced latte, and it was great. I appreciated it having a big bold coffee taste, which can get lost at other coffee shops. Customer service was great. There was one employee at this time, and she was friendly and quite efficient.“

While the tacos were good, they weren't exceptional—I believe there are better options in town. The restaurant has a slight Asian flavor, likely due to its Asian ownership, but the place was impeccably clean and the staff were friendly. They offer outdoor seating, which is a plus, but street parking is the only option as there isn't a nearby parking lot. Overall, a decent stop if you're in the area."“
