The General Muir Reviews
Distinguished and delicious. It is a unique Jewish-rooted delicatessen and bakery which are hard to find down south, but refined in its own way. We enjoyed the Reuben, poutine, matzoh ball soup & homemade side of potato salad. We also grabbed a pastry basket to take home. Wish we came on a Sunday when they have their spaghetti dinner special. They have a full coffee bar and great location. Tough to beat!
We went there for brunch on Sunday. Service was prompt and attentive. I had the pastrami on rye sandwich. Unfortunately it was not as well had hoped it to be. The meat and bread were at best only okay. Same for the side of Cole slaw which seemed to lack dressing. My wife had the omelette with Boursin and a side salad, which she reported as being first rate. Still we won’t rush back anytime soon.

I like this place, but I don’t love it! They do high volume so a lot of their items seem to be batched or prepped a little too far in advance/die in the window— you may end up with schmaltz potato’s that are mushy or a toasted bagel that has cooled completely.I do think the ticket for this place is tocome before 9am on weekends and any day during the week.Pastrami is a 10/10
