We went here twice while visiting Covington, and were very excited about it and the vibe; however, the first day we went and got a cannoli it was not crispy and was soggy and flimsy. The second day we went for breakfast and had two orders. We ordered 4 bagels for around $8-10 each. None of the bagels were correct (had no cream cheese, wrong bagel flavors, one strip of bacon, had pimento cheese when wasn’t supposed to, missing one bagel that was order). We waited for around 25 mins for them to fix the orders and things still weren’t right. Bagels were cold and hard. We had high hopes for this cute vibey breakfast lunch pastry shop but it was not met. Workers were nice and tried to fix the mistakes however, still came out wrong.

Really good food and service. Good place to come in sit and relax while enjoying a cup of coffee, wine. Or a blood bag.

Me and my best friend were visiting Covington for a little girls trip. Someone recommended Bread and Butter to us and we literally went every single morning for breakfast and then later that day for a little sweet treat. I think this is the thing we both miss the most about our trip, sucks it’s a local type of place. I’ll forever miss It

My favorite coffee shop on the square. I usually go to the lady in the back and get their premixed latte, it is sooooooo good! They are really nice and I have even done work while sitting here! They have outdoor seating for nice days. I don't think their food selection is great but coffee is definitely good!

We stopped here while visiting Covington and were so impressed! I had the Vampire Latte and my husband had The Shot In The Dark. They both were so delicious. The atmosphere was so relaxing and enjoyable. We had our daughter with us, she was in a stroller and we were able to easily push her around the shop. Bread and Butter was so good, we actually came back for another coffee a few hours later! ?

I ordered my food online 8:07am they said it would be ready at 8:37am. Went to pickup my 8:40am and when I got the order wasn't ready so I had to wait 30min for order. I had to wait other 15 for my coffee. There was only two people in the store myself and another gentleman. This was truly Unacceptable, and I don't think I will go there again.

Such a cute place! I stopped here to grab cupcakes and because it was Super Bowl weekend they also had football themed cupcakes. I picked carrot cake, salted caramel, cherry and chocolate. I only my tried carrot cake and it was pretty moist and I like that it had nuts as well. Frosting was not my most favorite.

I've come through Covington once a year for the last two years and both times I've stopped here these guys have hit me with a great coffee. I actually went to try the coffee house across the square on this visit and the overwhelming variety and jars of flavored coffee really through me off. I was going to try a pour over but pretty much everything they had was dark roast, which is surprising and not typical for ppl to get with a fancy $$ coffee like that. But I'm glad I came back to these guys because the coffee was very solid. My friend had a tasty looking breakfast sandwich and at some point I need to get around to trying the baked goods. The ambience on the inside is also very peaceful and could be a nice place to get some work done. At night I'd try the beers on tap that I saw, but that's for another visit!

I would go 3.5 if I could but I can't and I can't round up to 4. It's a very nice coffee shop and cafe. A great place to work with nice bright big windows in the front, strong WiFi and outlets everywhere. If you just want coffee and a space to work, this is a 4 star location. Definitely check it out. However, I came here because reviews mentioned gluten free options. Presumably they had some the day that person came but nothing when I came, which is the reason I came. And as historic Covington is in the middle of the middle of nowhere, I didn't have anywhere else to go. Decided to suffer anyway and got a breakfast sandwich on a croissant. I know croissants are buttery in general but this one had the feel and texture like it was dunked in oil. It was so greasy. I'd say maybe the eggs were cooked in too much oil but I can't because the next issue was half the egg was ice cold. I promise you I am not exaggerating. Half the egg was warm, and half was freezing. How do you manage that? The manager was very pleasant and took it back but the young lady in the back apparently didn't appreciate it because the replacement was scorching-as if it was a sarcastic, "oh? You want it hot, do you?" And when I thanked her for brining it out to me, she just looked at me with a scowl and said, "uh huh". Now the young lady who took my order was pleasant as can be, but I guess I understand why the other one was in the kitchen. She clearly shouldn't be interacting with customers. Anyway, my replacement sandwich was definitely hot but still just as awfully greasy. So, full points for ambiance and initial service and managerial response. Minus many points for grease and lack of gluten free options.

We love hanging out at bread and butter and enjoying their “ripper” drinks! Must try!Update: we live in town and come at least twice a week because we do really love the food and drink. However, the service is quite terrible. Half the time our order is wrong, staff has a bad attitude or just frankly ignores you. Staff truly needs better training and more rounded customer service. I prefer going to the drive thru location as those girls are super nice and on top of it. Once again, food it good and drinks are good, when prepared properly, staff just need better training.

Horrible. Ordered two cold sandwiches (one a chicken salad) but were hot and inedible. The girl(s) working the counter seemed to have little to no training. The ordering process made even more difficult due to the lack of signage or display indicating what the pastry’s were. Proper training, management, and staff would greatly improve this establishment!! Chicken salad is never hot; I wouldn’t serve that to a homeless person.*pictures are deceitful. mostly just cheesecake, barely any other options.
