This place has been a staple in Mt Vernon for at least 15 yrs. I have never had a bad food experience here in all the years I've been patronizing this establishment. The food is especially good after a night out drinking. If anyone knows me, I’m a Breakfast girl- And I stick to the basics— Bacon, Eggs, a bread (Waffle or Pancakes) and Grits if Available*… let me tell you how I seen this spot when it first came to town but ai can honestly admit I was turned off by the Tacky sign and name* and dark appearance of the interior of the restaurant so I put off going in - but bayyyyyyyybeeee the basics of the food here is POPPIN’!!!!…. Everything was made to perfection- Bacon cooked evenly, eggs cooked & done still soft with the taste of cheese, the Waffle Crisp of the edges// soft on the inside…. AND THE GRITS!!!!! ?‍??‍??‍? doesn’t matter if U like SUGAR or SALT* or CHEESE* on top… the texture and neutral taste of them with nothing on top is AMAZING ???… this is a must go to— with BlueMoon & FirstWatch… I’m just sorry I didn’t go earlier ???— the only things needed to improve would be the aesthetics — like maybe a white ceiling & better made tables - The rest is A+ ???“
