“While this won’t stop us from ordering their delicious food again, tonight’s experience just wasn’t the same. I ordered the family package with vegetarian Biryani, which included raita, salan, plain rice, naam, and chicken curry. We got our order and it was missing the salan. I called the restaurant and got the weirdest explanation. “It’s a very small container. They make a large container and if it runs out. But it’s just a small container of peanut sauce.” I don’t care what the size of the container is, it’s advertised as a package and I expect everything in the order.“

“Royal Taj is our go-to restaurant for special occasions, like our 20th Wedding Anniversary last week. It never fails to deliver excellence. Because it was a very special dinner, we decided to try something different. So my wife ordered the Lobster Malabar and I ordered the Grilled Halibut. Both were very good, especially the Halibut which was covered in an outstanding Corn Relish. To top off the evening our excellent server, Joshi, brought us a slice of very tasty cheesecake with a lit candle on top. As usual we cannot rave loud and often enough about Royal Taj and it is all due to the GM Binda, who is very friendly, charismatic and truly sets the tone of excellence at Royal Taj.“

“I was working in the area and Tandoor Spice was 1.5 miles from my last stop. I discovered it by other good reviews so tried ordering on my phone so I could pick it up. When it came to submit there was a little spinning circle and it continued until I arrived in the parking lot. I went inside and the nice gentleman apologized, checked the system and when he couldn’t see the order hung up in the system, he took my order right away. I ordered Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan. For the inconvenience he threw in a complimentary dessert. Got to the hotel and had a very good meal. More than I could eat in one sitting. Medium spice was perfect for me.“

“Had several dishes here, and they were all great. Don't be afraid to ask for it spicy and that's how you get it. Service was excellent and prompt, food came out very quickly. Pricing was very reasonable for the area and the portion provided.Parking: Plenty of easy, free parking directly in front of the business.“

“These guys make very good food, and they are very eager to please. They have two menus, one with American food like pizza and burgers and fried chicken, and the other with Indian food. Personally I like their non-curry dishes. It is quite spicy and never bland. Tonight I had the chicken thigh dinner which was very soft and spicy. It was fantastic. They also seemed to have invested a good amount of money into this place. Nice quality interior and good parking outside. The owner and the hostess both came to the table personally and asked us about how the food tastes. These people really care.“

“I really enjoyed the food I had, starting with the vegetable samosa, and for my meal, I had the lamb shahi korma. I took an order of the butter chicken home with me. I also had the butter naan and a mango lassi with my meal. I really enjoy Indian food and this location is very convenient and close to my home. “I was in the area to pick up and this spot popped up and thought it would be a good one to try for appetizers. Cozy interior with some outside seating. I was asked if I had a reservation when I walked in-I didn't and asked if I was out of luck. They did have some open tables but I was picking up. Quite around 5:30. Based on the friendly staff's recommendation, ordered Tikki Chaat, Mixed Veggie Pakodas and Trini Doubles. All 3 were Vegan and delicious with complex spices/flavors- the Pakodas are also Gluten free. If I had to choose a favorite it would be the Chaat-Potato Patties dipped in curried chutney with just the right amount of spicy. Service was exceptional with a high level of patience for answering my questions and providing recommendations. Picked up a bit by 6. Will be back for dinner. If in Hampden, make this stop!“

“Been here twice, once was years ago pre-pandemic and it was fabulous. We said we should come back here more often but never did… then the pandemic messed everything up and we went travel nursing. Now we’re back in town again… AND ITS STILL AMAZING. I got a jalfrezi, and hubby got tikka masala. The medium felt like a true medium, not whitewashed. Service was lovely. We were one of two couples who dined in, but looks like they have a busy takeout business. So glad they didn’t disappear in the pandemic like so many other places! Special occasions when the mood is right, we go to the ambassador for that special taste of Indian cuisine. I’ve been going to the ambassador for the last 20 years. “This is hands down my favorite restaurant in the area. The food is incredible! Their are dishes not super traditional, but the food they have is prepared perfectly and tastes incredible. Our favorites include the Himalayan duck, lamb chops, chicken tikka, chicken burra, meat samosa, and cardamom ice cream. I recently took my grandparents from India here and they were so impressed! Mind you, they are very judgmental of Indian restaurants. My grandma gave our waitress a hug before we left, she was so impressed! The service is always impeccable. You will see the owner talking to customers, serving at tables, and ensuring you are enjoying your meal. The ambiance is unmatched. We love sitting in the left room especially during warmer weather when the windows are open. This place is always busy, I suggest making reservations. Enjoy!“

“Nice eating point, ambience is good. Food taste is average, ordered dal makhani which contained mixed lentils (yellow split gram). Have never tried a dal makhani with yellow grams, not tasted to expectations. Other things ordered was shahi paneer and naan which was good. In case you are a dal makhani lover so check it out. Overall food quantity was good and taste too.“

“The food here is sooooo good!!! It tastes like your mom’s cooking! The naan was homemade, and the lamb we had was superrrr tender!! And the staff are very sweet!! Also it is so cheap for the portions you get compared to other places around here. I definitely recommend the lamb qorma!!“

Dinner was wonderful -- vegetable samosas (spicy but not too much!), chicken tikka, roti. Wine by the glass did not seem over-priced compared to trend I've been seeing at other places, and it was a generous quantity that lasted through the meal. Restaurant interior is nicely decorated and feels very cozy at the same time, though they look ready to handle a crowd. I'm glad that they have avoided putting up any large TV screens, which can spoil dining out rather than provide a distraction, in my opinion.“
