“We had eaten lobster at Boston and were not that impressed. A friend of mine told me to go up to Maine and eat at a lobster house along the coast. We picked Harraseeket based on it's reviews. It was great! You can pick your own lobster and have them cook it for you. It's the best lobster that I have ever eaten. My wife had a lobster roll, and it was loaded with lobster meat, instead of a lot of filler. If you want fresh seafood, this is the place.“

“Well me start out with this, I looked at the yelp reviews before going here and I was getting nervous they were like one like for the last three months. Upon trying this place with my wife my sister-in-law and brother-in-law, we were greeted nicely by the hostess and sat down. We had an energetic server, and she was the best suggestion things. I started out with a pork belly appetizer, it was fabulous. My wife got a salad she liked it very much and my sister-in-law and brother-in-law split a baked brie and they loved it. I got a smash burger with french fries it was very good my wife got the salmon and she loved it. My sister-in-law got the steak and my brother-in-law got the Haddock it was plenty of food and it was great. I don't know why they get a bad wrap sorry the buffet is no longer here nobody's doing buffets anymore it's a nice menu it's not overwhelming it's a one page menu with plenty of selections . The drinks were fine I got a bloody Mary which was great my wife got a glass of white wine she liked it my brother-in-law got a sour beer in my sister-in-law got like a Bud Light. I talked to them about their review and they said there was nothing wrong with their food there was nothing wrong with the restaurant it was kind of busy and I like that so the ambience is I don't know open kitchen so you can see everything Chef did a great job The ambience was great. I am very sorry they got a bad wrap on the last four yelp reviews I don't know if it's a disgruntled employee or somebody that's been going there for 38 years and can't deal with change but it was fine and I'd go there again thank you“

“Awesome experience at the Freeport Oyster Bar tonight! The bar tender, Sarah, was great at making sure we had everything we needed. We tried a bunch of the “Share” items. The menu was well curated from local vendors and we had a ton of fun with this menu. Get a bunch of oysters, drink some local beer, and eat local food! We will be back!“

“We stopped on a whim hoping for decent seafood. The fried clams were excellent and my lobster roll was the best one I had in a very long time! It's pricey but all seafood is now. We'd rather pay more for good seafood than less for not so great seafood any day.“

“Been here twice two years apart. A classic Maine / New England tavern for decent seafood and American grub. Loud and busy, as a tavern should be. Food is nothing astonishing but if you are visiting Maine, this is a nice place to experience the tavern environment.“

“The BEST lobster bisque I have ever had. It was so fresh and creamy, and didn't taste fishy at all. I wanted to lick the bowl. I am usually not a fan of fresh cut fries because they're soggy, but these were crunchy and incredible. The employees were also incredibly nice, and welcoming. I wish I could make the trip from Boston every weekend to have a cup.“

“My wife and I go to Freeport once in a great while so we try to find something new and boy did we find a gem. Nighthawk's Kitchen is off the beaten path, in the same area as the Shaws Plaza and located next to Mast Landing Brewing Company. You could miss it because it's a small space, but the food packs a punch (in a good way). The interior has seating for approximately 16. They have low and a couple high tables. They have a beverage cooler on the left, some business merchandise, a warmer for their breakfast on-the-go options and some confections sugar items leading up to the front desk. My wife and I were met by one of the staff who graciously opened the door for us. He provided us with a menu, said we could sit anywhere and offered us glasses of water while we browsed the menu. My wife ordered the Green Chile cheeseburgers which has hatch New Mexico green chilies and American cheese on a potato style role. She LOVED it as it brought back memories of her time in New Mexico. The owner did tell us that he get's all his green chiles directly from New Mexico through a vendor he has worked within when Nighthawk's was originally in New York. I had the BBQ burger which has bacon, bbq sauce, onion straws and I substituted vegan cheese in place of cheddar for dietary reasons. We also ordered a small fly for us to split. First off, I wasn't kidding when I said the food packs a punch. My burger was a smash burger style with great caramelization on the edges of the burger. One of the best burgers I have had in quite some time and my wife agrees hers was as well. The fries are hand cut, shoe string style. They par cook them in olive oil and then finish them in canola oil. They sprinkle salt and pepper on them and I ate them like I was eating popcorn till it was gone. Nighthawk's Kitchen looks and feels like a hole in the wall style restaurant and they are, but I enjoyed every minute of the atmosphere, customer service and the food. This would be a great spot for a future Yelp Elite event as they do offer alternative options. It may be a smaller menu than some, but there is no need to overload a menu that is already great to begin with. HIGHLY recommend trying!“

“I'm reviewing the hot dog option at this place. It was a bargain....toasted roll, side of coleslaw, bag of chips and pickles all for 4 bucks. Maybe not a gourmet lunch, but a very enjoyable experience eating at a picnic table on a beautiful sunny day.“
