“Fantastic mom and pop Italian place. Great place to bring your family to. Not being from around here, I had to learn how to order.Cash is preferred, here but they do take credit cards (no American Express).”

“Every time I visit Mariposa, it's a five star review - except for this time. I don't know if they were short-staffed, but all the staff seemed extremely stressed out. We had to wait forever for our drinks and finally I had to ask for them and they were brought either by a hostess or manager, who said it “wasn't her usual job” - but we appreciated it. We had my favorite waiter but he was very rushed. When it came to food, I ordered a salad with salmon and it was the smallest piece of salmon I've ever seen - for $30. My friends didn't seem to be “oohing” and “ahhing” over theirs either. Not up to the usual. I'm a regular and I'm just going to assume this was an off day but I wasn't feeling the love. I'll try and pick a slower day to go back. I wondered if something bad had happened that day to make everyone so grim. I hope not. I feel so privileged to have Mariposa as a place to dine. The menu is always able to accommodate me and the servers are always just lovely and friendly. The atmosphere is very relaxing.”

“Late dinner - we were in the mood for something Italian - food is fabulous - we choose lasagna and risotto - both dishes were yummy and plenty left over for lunch tomorrow - FYI: Their salad are the best!! Kayla and the house staff were fabulous as well… we will be back soon…”

“Definitely start with the Parkerhouse rose with honey truffle butter. This was a perfect place for a multigenerational family to have dinner. The menu has something for everyone and everything we ordered was well prepared and delicious our server Danny was fantastic handling a large group I will return.”

“We love Uncle Julios! Yes, the food is phenomenal, but the staff is even better. The managers seem like they actually care about their guests - always smiling and personable. Not like other places where they just ask if everything is okay. The servers are always professional and knowledgeable of the menu. They've helped me decide numerous times lol. ONE TIME in multiple visits a drink didn't seem right, and our server not only fixed it right away but had the manager come talk with us to ensure we were satisfied. Our server could have just left it at fixing it, but to get the manager involved to ensure we were happy was a step above!”

“Edit..we have been back since my review.The rude guy at the door is gone. Everyone is friendly and the food is beyond amazing!!Make sure if you want to try this place out, you make reservations. My friend and I decided last minute to try the restaurant out because I had read about it on line. When we arrived, we were informed that there would be a wait. I asked about seating at the bar because most places it is open seating. Let me tell you the host was so condescending that it was uncomfortable. There is no waiting area and he acted alarmed that I was going to approach the bar to get a glass of wine. He then informed us it was a 2 hour wait. After driving around forever trying to find a place to park and having much anticipation of trying Sado we just left. I rarely leave a bad review anywhere but I realize this place is new and hope they work on their customer service. I am sure the food will be amazing”

“Ate at this restaurant for a celebratory meal. Absolutely amazing. Although this was several months ago. I still feel like this was one of my top 3 dinner experiences ever! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted promptly and friendly service. We went all out! The chicken was to die for! We had a special cheese that was flown in from over seas and fresh peach slices. Our server was OVER THE TOP FANTASTICAL!Oh yeah. The portions...2 people .ate off this meal for 3 days.”

“I knocked one star out for atmosphere because the place was too crowded which is a good and a bad thing. This place is so good. Every single item is make to order, waffles, pancakes, crepes even the ice cream cones. It is a mist try.”

“It's honestly the best frozen custard I've ever had, and I frequent quite a bit of frozen custard places. I can't put my finger on exactly why it's better than the rest, maybe it's a little bit creamier than others. I don't know what it is, but it just has something about it that makes it special. The only negative I can think of about the whole experience is how popular the place is. I'd recommend visiting during the weekday while everyone's at work, because otherwise waiting in "line" is like standing a huge crowd trying your best to figure out how to get the counter to make your order. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to the mass of people, but eventually you'll make your way to the counter. Overall highly recommend.”

Don't be intimidated by the line as you'll ALWAYS have something you'll enjoy.Kid-friendliness: The family is very welcoming and built their shop around their own. Doesn't matter who you are, you'll be treated with a smile and some laughs while talking as your sandwich is being made.”

“I loved the food - really great they do such an amazing job of offering vegetarian options with many of the menu items, and my vegetarian friend was very impressed with her options. The food was well prepared, portions were large, side items were also good, as was salad and dessert - yes, we ordered and ate far more than we needed! Service is friendly and quick. Ambience is noisy - if you're wanting to converse easily I would recommend an off peak hour lunch or dinner! Line to order moves quickly - they do a fantastic job of assisting with menus and answers while you're in line so the process is quick and smooth when you get to the actual order taker/cashier.”

“Best coffee place in Kirkwood!We moved to the area at the end of last year and I’m so happy to have found a local coffee shop that has wonderful service. The staff is always super friendly, the shop is cute and the atmosphere is welcoming. My kids love to go to the window with me and everyone who has served me when I bring them has been so kind to them.Also, whatever the sauce is on the bagel breakfast sandwich is addictive.”

“This is a GREAT neighborhood restaurant! Great ambiance in the front room! Very good wine list; we thoroughly enjoyed the Manzone Gramolere Barolo. The food was excellent, and the portions quite large on the Chicken Marsala. One of the specials was Divers Scallops on a bed of risotto, and the scallops were perfectly done. Service after the entree could have been more attentive.”
