“Holy cow, this place was awesome. I went with a group of 7 for lunch today. It was slammed with customers but they still got our orders taken and food to us in good time. The lady taking orders was fast and efficient while also being an absolute pleasure to deal with. The rest of the staff was just as good. I got the meatball sandwich and it was truly amazing. I was full when I finished it but still disappointed when it was gone. Overall it was an amazing experience and I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in St. Louis.“

“What can I say? The entire meal was AMAZING! Toasted Ravioli melted in our mouth, sauce was outstanding. We had Tortellini and Rigatoni with Chicken in asiago sauce. Again, outstanding. We had turtle cheesecake and carrot cake for dessert - awesome. We have a new favorite!“

“This is the kind of restaurant that you save your 5-star reviews for. The food is insanely incredible, the staff are sweet angels, and you're treated like royalty once you step in the door. The environment is charming and welcoming while not overwhelming, with dimmed lighting and beautiful artwork. I left my phone at home when I went last night but I would have taken a picture of every dish and drink if I'd brought it. The broccolini (and the vinaigrette!) is a must-have, as well as their various breads and the prosciutto. Everyone's meal was a favorite, and the Rosa y rosie drink was divine. We greatly enjoyed our time and will definitely be back!“

“1st time at the restaurant. Calamari and and Mussels were great. Your Veal Parmesan was awesome. My wife had the Bolognese and did not like the sweetness of it. I asked her to send it back but she declined. Outside of that it was a nice experience.“

“Good looking place, but call beforehand when ordering. They are booming with customers and get a lot of orders, so if you don't order beforehand, you're looking at ~40 minute wait time. Definitely recomend it if you like thin pizza ?“

“I would put myself in debt to eat this food, It's so incredible the head chef is brilliant, and the staff from the front of the house to the back make the entire experience a joy. the wild boar and polenta is writing home about worthy, and the tirimisu makes me emotional... the pizza is literally the only pizza in st louis worth eating and I'm from Chicago so I feel like my opinion is extra valid lol. there are a ton of "fancy restaurants" in St. Louis but table cloths and wine selection don't mean crap when the menu of a reasonably priced pizza joint makes your food look like McDonald's by comparison.“

“I had the rigatoni arribiatta which was delicious. My group and I had a really nice time in general, but towards the time that we left it was VERY loud in the restaurant, this was around 7:00pm. It became so loud that I left with a sore throat (not joking) from having to project my voice just to be heard by the person across the table. I did really enjoy my food though.“

“Comfy, intimate spot for a quality meal. Sat at the bar for a light dinner. Arrived in time for happy hour and ordered a mocktail, plus some small dishes off main menu. They do offer gluten free pasta and pizza, which will try next time! Today, I tried their green bean whipped ricotta dish with bits of bacon (yum!) and an order of arrancinis. Both were delicious, and I look forward especially having the green beans again. The service was outstanding at the bar. Friendly, engaging wait staff. “This was a night out with my brothers and friends. We enjoyed the atmosphere. The drinks were okay. The bloody mary was simple, not much zing to the taste. It was kind of bland. Our server was polite and friendly. We were treated to vocals from retired football tight end Jackie Smith. He sounded great that night. A nice place for dinner or just cocktails after donner.“

“This restaurant has outstanding Italian cuisine. The food is delicious and its presentation is pretty as well. We went there on a Saturday evening with friends and had to wait around 45 minutes. I don't know if they take reservations in advance. It is well worth the wait though.“

The online ordering process was so easy, and the food was next level! The pesto is bursting with flavor, and the whole pine nuts in the calzone added a great texture!! “The food was first rate. It wafted me back to Rome and Venice. The service was very good too. The price was very good considering the quality of the food. The decor and overall ambience was cool in both senses of the word. The noise level reminded me of a pub in Liverpool city center on a Friday night. It was LOUD and they would benefit from an investment in some sound deadening materials or decorations. That was the only drawback and, to be fair, it was only loud because everybody in there was having a great time.“

“If you're looking for authentic, this is the place. The service as you enter is welcoming and the ambiance gives you local hometown feels. The calamari was very flavorful and the food was so good. It was absolutely delish!The pasta salad...great flavor. Ate that up first thing.Now the potatoes...meh. They looked wonderful, but they smelled just awful from the cheese they coat it with. They were just meh. I didn't eat a majority of it.The cheese sauce...also meh. Not much flavor. Didn't add anything to anything. I didn't eat that hardly either.The service....TOP NOTCH. “We stayed at the Cheshire hotel and were fortunate to have Basso on the premises! We met a friend here the first night of our stay. The restaurant is in the basement. The atmosphere was inviting with gas lit wall lights, a center bar with booths and high tops. Autumn was a wonderful server. She was so pleasant and informative. We really enjoyed having her as our server. Happy hour is from 4 to 6. We tried the fried meatballs, which were great. The lemon ravioli and the shrimp pasta dish were both delicious. Prices were reasonable. When you dine, the food taste and quality are top priority, but when the food is phenomenal and the service and atmosphere are just as good, it makes the experience memorable. We ended up returning on our second night! Julie was our server and we really enjoyed her, too. She was helpful and interested in our satisfaction! We tried the Brussel sprouts, an heirloom salad with delicious bread. Our entrees were the butcher steak and the burger. The steak was wood fired and super tender! The burger was delicious. The fries and shishito peppers were very good. We highly recommend this hidden gem and thank Autumn and Julie for making our stay in St. Louis so memorable! It was very tasty, just a surprise when expecting a true St Louis style pizza. My companion also had the house salad with house dressing and said that it was very good. Mine had French onion dip, which would have been better if not cold, in my opinion. They also have cheese sauce, a really good garlic butter, a white BBQ sauce...The server asked if we wanted any changes (different sauces, etc) Drinks came in glasses made to look like cans, very cute!Lunch for 4 was under 50 bucks, and two of us got bottomless drinks and a drink to go. I ordered the cheese tortellini with mushrooms and peas, and my husband ordered the Spaghetti alla Angela. The pasta was so delicate and just melted in our mouths. “Massa's is a great old-school St. Louis style Italian restaurant, but a cut above many others in St. Charles County. We've gotten some great options recently and over the years, but Massa's is a staple. I love that they have other menu items that you can't find anywhere else. Their mussels and Parmesan crusted whitefish are two of my absolute favorites. I also love that they add pimento to their house salad although they dress it very heavily so I recommend asking for the dressing on the side. I also would prefer that the bread would come out warm, but it is good bread and they provide real butter. A+ There is a decent sized patio and they allow dogs and smoking so please keep that in mind. The only drawback to the patio is that it sits right in front of the parking lot so you have a great view of cars. LOL!“

I'd indicated that we were celebrating my wife's birthday when I made the reservation and at no point during the evening was that acknowledged. Also, there appeared to be no full time bartender since our waiter spent a great deal of time mixing drinks. It took almost 20 minutes to get our check. I'm hoping this was an anomaly and that the bar is usually staffed. It's a great restaurant. They just seemed to be understaffed for a busy Friday night.“
