“Best Thai I’ve ever eaten in Durham! We got takeout and tried the drunken noodles and yellow curry - both 10/10, no notes. Ordering and picking up was an easy and straightforward process, and the food was still piping hot when we got it home. Great flavor, and great place for spice lovers - mild was plenty spicy for me!“

“This is our go to sushi restaurant in chapel hill/ durham. The sushi is consistent and delicious. The sushi chef is one of the best I’ve seen in this area. It’s always superb sush. My particular favorite is going during their lunch special , which includes weekdays and Saturdays. My children love the sushi and we get a couple of the triples that include 3 rolls with soup or salad. We love their spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, Philadelphia roll, and generally the rest of their menu is all really amazing. The price is amazing and we always devour all the food. If you are someone who cares about quality, ratios, and consistency, then you will love it like we do. They do have a list of fancier rolls that we occasionally get and are also amazing. But we keep coming back because we hit the perfect balance between amazing cost and amazing, delicious food. You get the best quality and the best price here and it’s so worth it! Highly recommend it!“

“We lived in Thailand for 12 years, since returning stateside just over 2 years ago we have tried several Thai restaurants and have been very let down. The khao soi and som tom were spot on! Amazing, the fried rice was delicious and P Joy even got us some Thai chili's in the lime/fish sauce. Highly recommend Thai Star, everyone was very friendly and kind!“

“We had a fantastic outdoor meal as the weather cooled down this week! Our server was excellent—attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The beautiful, Thai presentation of our meals matched the fresh and deep flavors. Papaya salad, deep fried Swai with green mango, fried catfish special, garlic chicken, dumplings…delicious! Thanks for the great night!“

“For a restaurant that was described as “concerningly Asian” by the couple next to me, this was a lovely experience. I found the level of Asian-ness to be perfectly acceptable for Durham, NC - and in fact it was pretty standard as far as Thai restaurants go.The entire front of house was run by one man. I do not know his name, but he is my personal hero. He was seating tables, taking orders, running food, refilling drinks, and processing checks with more efficiency than a coordinated strike team. Now I hear what you’re thinking: “Hey Adrian, Coordinated Strike Teams don’t run restaurants.” And to that I say: Shut up. Overall, service gets five stars. The food was subtle but flavorful. I got the Thai Basil Fried Rice because my white posterior cannot handle much spicier than BBQ Sauce. It was not only incredibly flavorful and texture rich, but also satisfying. It was a perfect lunch portion. I’m a Big Boy so I tend to eat a bit more than most folks, so expect to get a to-go box. Five stars for food quality, portion, and flavor. The atmosphere was as expected. Picture any given asian restaurant in a strip mall. Now make it 5% cleaner. Perfect. You’ve just imagined the atmosphere of Twisted Noodles. I imagine the couple next to me was venturing outside their McDonald’s comfort zone to describe it the way they did. Four stars for atmosphere. It’s pleasant and inoffensive.Overall it’s a great lunch spot. I’ll definitely be back. And if you go, tip your server. He’s deep in the trenches from clock in to clock out, and it’s partially your fault. Five stars.“

“A part of my order was not delivered, although I ordered on their direct website. when I called to ask for a refund, I was told that they would not do so because they are only responsible for making the food. Noone offered to contact the driver service to rectify. Instead, when I mentioned that I could only choose to not use the restaurant again, I was laughed at. Very unfortunate. I used to greatly enjoy this location. UPDATE: The restaurant reached out, apologized, and are doing what they can to make it right. I appreciate the follow up, and I totally will go back. The food is good, and they are one of the few places in that part of Durham that isn't a chain.“

“Tasty little Vietnamese joint near RTP - was Saturday afternoon so kind of slow but the food was amazing. Got vermicelli with pork and eggrolls. Everything was well-cooked and seasoned, and the dish came with all the veggie trimmings too. The Thai iced tea (not pictured) also hit the spot. Great place and would definitely go back.“

“Delicious Thai food at this spot in the midst of a row of great restaurants in Durham. It was an early dinner, so not crowded. There are about 18 tables in this rectangular storefront restaurant. Service is efficient and quick, though somewhat brusque. Tried Kra Pow crispy duck, on the menu as a daily special. A generous portion of perfectly cooked, crispy skin-on duck is served atop a melange of colorful red peppers, onions, carrots, broccoli and basil, stir-fried in a sweet-ish brown sauce, and garnished with an orchid. The duck is excellent - very flavorful and not fatty. Also had pineapple fried rice with tofu. An enormous portion (took half home) of delicious vegetable fried rice is chock-full of 2 inch chunks of tofu. The tofu is firm, flavorful and well-seasoned, tasting of a sweet sauce. Lastly, Drunken Noodles. This one is made with the traditional prep, wide noodles, stir fried vegetables, chicken and topped with fancy shredded carrots. Definitely a good spot for Thai in downtown Durham.“

“I had the general tso's chicken with fried rice and crab ragoon. The chicken was really good. The fried rice was actually just yellow rice, but tasted decent. The crab ragoon was tasty, just a little soggy and not very crispy. I'd go here again but maybe try something different. Overall not a bad place and priced very fair.“
