We had an amazing catered lunch from here today. There were about 30 people and the set up was amazing. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the meat wasn't the best. The chicken was overcooked. However, the salsa was SOOO good and that was some of the best guacamole ever. They packed so many things- Cole slaw, homemade ranch , pico, onions, 2 salsas, corn salsa, and more! I highly recommend this for catering events. Definitely the best one of the catered "chain/franchise" Tex-Mex style restaurants

This review is based on comparing this location to the one on 17 in hampstead. The surf city location is using smaller taco shells (less food) at the same price and the bowls at the surf city location are also a little skimpy. The employees at highway 17 are eager to add the extra ingredients and pretty much encourage it, while the surf city location is just the opposite and try to make a customer feel bad about adding toppings. One more thing, their taco hard shells taste a bit off and it makes me wonder if the taco shells need warming up prior to serving just like we would do at home. This is not a problem with the larger shells at the location on 17 in Hampstead.Would I return to this location? Absolutely not.They do have one of those machines that flip around to ask you a question (haha); why are they asking for a tip? Let's see what they don't do - I place my own order, fill my own drink, bring my order to the table, I clean up the table and I pay at the counter and yet they have the nerve to request 15 to 25% tip. When I go to places like this locations, I feel all they want to do is to separate us from our money. I always imagine the owner saying this "It's all about the boat" "I just need their money, they got to eat so who cares about the quality of food and service"Sorry to hit so hard, but there is definitely an attitude problem and it always starts at the top. Employees are always a reflection of the owner first and management.

First off, let me just say that I really Burrito Shak BUT not this location. I have been to the one in Hampstead, Topsail Island, and Swansboro. Unfortunately, this one did not meet the standard. The staff personalities were as dry as the steak. Nobody greeted anybody. Nobody smiled. Staff didn't even talk to each other. It wasn't welcoming at all. The floor and tables and were dirty. My wife and kids said the chips were stale with their nachos. As I said, the steak was dry. We will NOT return to this location. Management has to do better.

I love Burrito Shak! I have one close to work and one close to home! This review is for the one close to home!I LOVE their tacos but always feel compelled to each both because I love them so much! But my waist line feels otherwise! So I chose the Aloha bowl this time and when I got home, immediately put have in a container for another meal! I am always impressed by the incredible service at either Burrito Shak! So kind and accommodating! I do usually take mine home to eat, but there are always people in the restaurant eating "in!"Seriously love this place and would eat there every day if I could!!

We stumble upon Burrito Shak during our trek to Surf City. The kiddos ordered quesadilla and burrito from the kids menu. The adults had the shaka and loaded nachos. Everything came out fresh and tasty. Highly recommended!

Used the app to order. Got to the store, stood on line because there isn't clear signage and nobody was available to talk to, get to the front of the line where everyone is getting their food made, and told to go to the counter. Go to checkout my food isn't ready and won't be for an hour. Meanwhile I just stood on line and could have ordered and had my food by now. They didn't seem to understand that they should make my food. What's the point of order ahead if it's quicker to go in and stand in line? Cancelled and will never be back to this location.

To he honest price are too high for the amount of food given compare to other places with the same concept that are cheaper. If you go add double meat and double other items to make it a satisfying good portion. Be aware the end cost will be equivalent to go to a seat down restaurant after all is said and done. Good choice when time restricted or want to try something different in that area. Good one is have different sauces to choose from. Food is fresh as they also do in other places (namely Qdoba and Chipotle) and taste is ok. We're not impress.

Customer service was great- one young man in particular yesterday evening was so helpful to my kids and I. He was polite and a hard worker. I noticed also that was always looking for something to do when things slowed down at the counter- put something away, sweep, wipe down tables.

My son turned me on to Burrito Shak and I'm addicted! The S-turn is my fav- it has queso in it. Son loves the Rincon, daughter loves the tacos. Carne asada is wonderful and full of flavor. LOVE this place!

If you are looking for a quick meal, not necessarily fast food, but faster than many other area options, check out Burrito Shak. They move the line quickly, without sacrificing quality or portion, and mange to deliver a very good taste for solid value in today's world. The staff is friendly, the location often crowded, and other than Jersey Mike's, which is also very, very good, they meet expectations every time we go.

It was just average. My particular burrito bowl had al ost no chicken on it. Felt more like a dip for chips rather than a burrito bowl. Fairly expensive as well. 3 people for nearly $50. There’s other choices nearby.
