“I’ve been coming to El Sombrero for years. The food has been very consistent and my Mexican and Peruvian friends love this place. I have come here as well as taking it to go. We don’t even live nearby, but we like it so much, that we drive half an hour to eat here. I’ve brought friends from all over the world to eat this ceviche.That said, tonight was a bit different. We were served by Miriam (according to the receipt). She was not only rude, she would roll her eyes every time we asked for something.I usually run into the sweet lady who’s always there who seems to be a manager or one of the owners, not sure. But I would have loved it if she was there so she could have a conversation with this girl.I’m definitely gonna be coming back, but I’m gonna wish that that girl is not our server next time“

“I came on a Monday evening and I got a reservation the day before. There were plenty of reservations available. The servers were nice and came to refill our water often. The food was unique and I don't get a chance to eat elevated Mexican food that often. I ordered: * Swordfish Tacos - 9/10 - The charred flavor on the swordfish was really good, and the spicy sauces added heat and a slight tanginess. The taco didn't have many toppings but the simplicity of the dish is what made the individual flavors shine. * Lamb Barbacoa Tacos - 7.5/10 - These had good flavor, but I felt like they were missing something. The meat was a bit dry, and all the ingredients were soft. I think adding another texture would elevate it. * Soya Marinated Tuna Tostada - 8/10 - The chili oil paired nicely with the soy marinade on the tuna. I liked that they put fat slices of tuna. The tostada was perfectly crunchy. * Oxomoco Guacamole - 7.5/10 - The chips on the side are the same tostada that comes with the tuna. The guacamole itself is delicious but it's hard to justify almost $20 for guacamole, no matter how good it is. * Recuerdame - 8/10 - A fun drink to order with tacos. I liked the aesthetics and that it was a blended ice drink. The alcohol flavor wasn't too strong and it was sweet. Overall, all the food I had was really delicious and for a Michelin-starred restaurant the vibe was pretty casual and chill. However, it is quite pricey for the amount of food you get, so I would save it for a celebration or special occasion.“

“I stopped by for drinks around 7pm on a Saturday with some friends. Thankfully there was a table available and we were seated right away. Bosco's has an extensive drink menu, and happy hour if you go during certain times on weekdays. The drinks were average NY prices, and were very good. I got the Sam Said So, while my friend got a Negroni. Both were very good! The service was great, and the decor was fun.“

My mouth is legit watery thinking back about it. The music and vibe was popping. “This was the best Mexican I've had in Park Slope. I had the chicken and my girlfriend had the steak. Both meals were delicious, but I'd say the chicken was the best chicken I've had in years, hands down. Juicy with crispy skin and delicious sauce. The service was slow (took 40+ minutes to receive our food after ordering), but that's probably because we didn't get drinks or apps. Both looked great, but not for us. The vibe is a little loud, but great decor with very pleasant energy. Looking forward to bringing my parents here when they visit next time.“

“They are always packed which is good but not when it gets too crowded which is often expect to wait about 30-45 min for your food however their food is decent. I had a chicken quesadilla and the chicken was dry. i tried it again but this time birria and it was much better but once you get to the center its dry overall their decent and good for cravings and btw there is no parking!!!!“

“Was on an afternoon walk with a friend. Stopped in and had a drink and had the Guacamole as an appetizer.. I gotta say they were both delicious. “The outside was bright and welcoming with sitting outside. It was quiet inside, I was there before 12pm. Inside was decorated with beautiful glass butterflies . The staff was fabulous, especially my sever Jorge. I ordered the chicken taco. The services was fast eventhough I only ordered 1 Taco. It was one of the fresh and delicious taco I have eaten. I was pressed for time and could not enjoy the atmosphere but will be going back. I definitely recommend this place for a quick bite or a full course meal. Enjoy..“

“I'll keep this short and to the point: this is the best burrito I've had in the city hands down, and it's not close. Everything fresh and phenomenally seasoned, the lengua is succulent, the al pastor just the right spicy-sweet mix, I can't wait to try a few more meats. The staff is super friendly and the food comes out quick. As far as ambiance, getting in and out of there in record time is all you really want from a food truck. The best.“

“I stopped by for lunch. I’ve never had taco express and something told me to try it out today . I’m so glad that i did. Upon walking in i was greeted by Ajay who was busy with a customer but gave me a smile and told me he’d be with me shortly. Not even 30 seconds passed and out came Meena with a smile. She surprisingly asked if this was my first time and i told her yes. She walked me through the whole process and recommended her favorite to me and offered for me to taste them first(which was amazing because chipotle would never !) so i appreciated this very much. She was extremely patient. After choosing my favorite protein , Ajay came along and they both reccomended the best sauces to go along with my meal. These two are a Gem to this business . The chef also came out ( i wish i got his name ) but he was very nice and i made sure to tell him that the meat was so good it was hard for me to pick ! There is only outdoor seating so I would keep that in mind if you plan on visiting during colder weather. But The tacos were delicious and I got way more queso and chips than I was expecting. “This is some of the best food of any kind l've had in my 45 years living in NYC. Honestly, it's amazing, chef Jose is delightful and his dishes are so nuanced and delicious. Octopus tostados are heavenly, I have no idea what all it consist of but they are delicious. There are three, I can't eat more than two but the last is always enjoyed by someone else at the table. Burrito are a staple for my lunch/dinner... so fresh and comforting. AND I'm not really a fan of most Mexican food but this is on a whole other level. I just finished a salad of shrimp, avocado, mango, cherry tomato, with paper thin fennel shredded on top. The shrimp are cooked to perfection, not rubbery at all but ever so slightly firm and succulent. I live in Manhattan and there isn't anything near me as delicious and fresh.It’s really a special place.“

“Had plans to get dinner with a friend, and as we read the menu, we decided to walk to another spot. About 5 minutes into our walk, I suggested, 'We have to at least try the new restaurant on the block.' So, we turned around and went back. We were greeted by our server, who was amazing—I wish I had gotten his name. After being given the menu, I ordered a margarita without sugar, and they made it perfectly—seriously, their margaritas are perfect. Our courses came out one by one, each one delicious. The guacamole, despite being a basic menu item for a Mexican restaurant, was insanely fresh and delicious. The Camaron Baja Style Shrimp Tacos were served ceviche style, and the tuna tostada had a flavorful, slightly spicy kick. We almost ordered everything— you can't go wrong here. “This is my first time at this restaurant. My friend found it for us and he specifically picked it because he heard it had good cocktails. we ordered four different cocktails. All of them were pretty good. I wish I remembered the names of them but the blue cup with the pink outside was one that was my favorite. By far the ceviche was bomb. The guac a little bit of flavor for me, but mixing it with the ceviche made that even pretty darn good. Really enjoyed the fish taco over the other two pictured. we got the Maduros which were fresh and yuka fries. we also got the octopus which I thoroughly enjoyed. The chipotle, shrimp in the pineapple was honestly not my favorite. My friend really enjoyed it as he enjoyed sweet dishes, but it was too sweet for me. Overall, I definitely recommend a place. Definitely get the ceviche and the octopus! And I'm not even a big seafood person to say that. The service was great, and while we were there, the waiter even gave us a shot on the house. “Recent dinner at Tacombi definitely hit the spot. The tacos are packed with well seasoned meat, the crispy fish was nicely dressed with slaw and sauce, the salsa are delicious and pack a nice little punch. The tostada was crispy with a flavorful avocado topping and the quesadilla just barely visible under the mountain of Al pastor. My michelada was nice but I'd give the agave wine margs a pass if you're a marg purist. Juan Carlos took great care of us. On hand just when we needed with what we needed, friendly, and left us plenty of time to chow and digest before sending us on our merry way. We really enjoyed the little cabana - it's nice when the COVID inspired street cabana matches the good vibes indoors so even the dog can enjoy the night out.“

The stacked up outside tables and dark windows make it look closed all the time and I’ve never seen a person walk in. I’m sure it is because of that ( the stacked up tables — not the windows). “I cannot sing the praises of this place and the staff enough! We had a long day at the museum and we were all starving and the kids were very cranky. We took forever trying to find a place that they would all find something to eat at but that place didn't work out so we came here not realizing how lucky we were. After having a quick glance at the menu I realized two of my children would probably not eat anything. Two of the ladies that work there helped us work it out to piece together a meal for them with components they already have. It took quite a while figuring everything out but they were patient and helpful. The food was outstanding and the cocktails and mocktails were phenomenal.
