“From a vegetarian's point of view this place got four stars from me because there are a lot of options on the menu for people to enjoy plant based chinese and japanese food - I appreciate that knowing the standard is more meat/seafood heavy. With that being said, we ordered take out from here. We got the vegetable Ramen, sweet tree roll, sunny side roll, and the avo cucumber roll. The specialty rolls were direct copies of the Beyond Sushi menu - which is fine however Beyond Sushi makes it far better, these specialty rolls were a bad dupe for the price. They tasted okay, but very heavy on the avocado so hardly taste anything else. Ramen was average but tofu they used was super fresh and so smooth. Again their menu is perfect for veggie people, don't mind sampling more of their menu.“

“Arrived too early for our lunch reservations. Some of us were starved already, so checked Yelp for the best place to snack. This place was highly recommended. Easy to find, and many ways to search what we wanted. Most of us picked the #10 and I picked the #13 (fried bun). Took a bit for it to be ready but there were 5 orders to do at one shot. We decided to wait inside even though it was a tight fit. It was a little chilly outside. I think mostly, people order to pick up or have delivered. So the food was piping hot! But we didn't care, it was so good! And we had 3 different dipping sauces. The really spicy one my husband liked a lot. Two of us enjoyed the soy sauce one. My dad liked the sweet white sugar sauce. Everyone was so happy and we can't wait to return again. Definitely recommend.“

“Antidote has some drawbacks to be sure, the biggest one being that it is pretty hard to get a table there, but the food is outstanding--with a lot of options--and when the bill comes, it always seems like a pretty good value. I do wish their drink menu was a little stronger, and if you aren't there for the last seating, you might get rushed out, but that doesn't stop us from going often. The hidden strength of this place is that the menu is so extensive, much more so than Birds of Feather, the closest rival, both in distance and cocenpt. That makes it easier to find exactly what you want. For example, there are a few different fish dishes: steamed whole, a couple different ways, stewed in spicy broth, and probably others. We usually end up with one of these. As indicated above, I wish the drink menu was more extensive. It's a cool place too, and always lively, especially on weekend night. But it can be drafty right up front.“
“One of the best fish/seafood meals I’ve had in NYC at Fulton Fish. Thankfully small menu. Superb service. Afterward, we perused the other places in this beautifully laid-out building. You can’t miss!“

“I used to eat here when it was under a different name. After the recent renovation, I decided to try it again. The food, mostly mid-southern Chinese food from Zhejiang/Shanghai, was authentic and tasted good. One exception was the hot and sour soup, too salty. Service was good. New setting/decor is modern and trendy.“

“Generally I give the total five star to this restaurant considering its flavor, service and environment. The steamed pot chicken soup is super good I will definitely choose this every time, on top of that I like sugar cake and highly recommend it. Besides, tomato beef soup, Dai style stir fried beef are also nice to try.“

“Probably the most authentic Beijing food in Manhattan. Super cute ambiance and amazing food - every dish was executed well and not too salty/oily/sweet unlike most other Chinese restaurants in the city. Service was friendly and fast. Highly recommend if you haven't tried Beijing food or if you're looking for legit Chinese food in the city!“

“Ottimo ristorante di Ramen (giapponese e non quello "tarocco" o fatto con quello istantaneo del supermercato) che offre anche una fantastica selezione di ravioli. Prezzi tutto sommato accettabili per la media della città e acqua gratuita. Posto piccolo, accogliente, staff cordiale e velocissimo. Porzioni corpose quindi ordinate con cautela o non riuscirete a finire tutto.“

“Got the munchies? Want to satisfy it quickly and cheaply? This spot is for you. It is quick and cheap. Food is also fresh. People are going in and out so food won't get stale. The food is also tasty. They even have veggies for people who don't eat meat. If you're a straight up vegetarian then try the plain congee and the cilantro roll. Excellent! They also do custom orders. If straight up cilantro rice rolls is too plain, you can add egg, roast pork, or shrimp to spice it up. To skip the line, call the number so you'll be in and out.Vegetarian options: Cilantro rice roll, plain congeeParking: As you enter Elizabeth street from Canal Street, there is a parking garage 50 feet from the turn from Canal Street.“

“I saw this place on instagram and added it to my bucket list. My husband and I traveled from Atlanta just to try The Monkey King. The atmosphere is comfortable and laid back. Our waiter was accommodating and made us feel like we were seating in VIP. We met the owner Mike. He was professional and was grateful for us traveling to Brooklyn New York to try his restaurant. The taste from each dish blew us away from the concocted herbs and spices. We will definitely return.“

“Solid hot pot place! I came on a cold Friday night with a friend for dinner. We did make a reservation ahead of time just in case, but the restaurant is larger than it appears from the outside. You use the tablet at the table to place your order. It defaulted to Chinese, so you have to switch it to English if you can't read it. We were not totally sure what everything was on the menu based on just the names. Food/Drinks: This is a communal hot pot place, so there is one large pot in the center of the table for your party instead of individual hot pots per person. This is a la carte instead of an all your can eat hot pot restaurant. You start by selecting the type of broth that you want. I recommend doing the half and half option, so you can try more than one. I typically get one spicy and one non-spicy. Be warned - the spicy one is SPICY! We got the lowest level which is "Normal," and the heat builds the more you eat it. I'm pretty good with spicy food, but I do not think I could do more than the "Normal" level. We also tried the pork bone broth, which was a good complement as our non-spicy option. You will select your preferred ingredients like meats, seafood, and veggies in order to cook them in the broth. We decided to go with beef, tofu, and veggies. The meat comes on a plate that they put on its side, which was an interesting presentation. Don't forget to make your own sauce at the sauce station to dip your cooked items in. We also got the kumquat lemonade, which was quite refreshing! It ended up being about $50/person for everything that we ordered. Service/Ambiance: We were confused at first because the restaurant sign is higher up, so we were not sure it was the right place. When you first walk in, there is a bubble tea stand to your left and a waiting area, so it was a big confusing. The sauce station is in the middle of the restaurant. Service is pretty standard for an Asian restaurant meaning it's not great. You will need to flag people down if you need them as they don't typically come over and check how you are doing like at standard American restaurants. This doesn't typically bother me since a lot of Asian places are like that. Overall: I would go back again for more hot pot!“

“Solid. Been wanting to try this spot for years- so glad I finally stopped in! Long line but it moved quick, try and grab a seat at a table!! We shared with another couple - so it's more of a communal experience which was nice. Wouldn't recommend taking to-go if you can eat there. There were soy sauce, chili oil and other things on a couple tables which was nice. Ordered Pork and Chive dumpling & Wheat Noodle with Peanut Butter Sauce - the total was $6 can't beat it! Quality was good! Taste was ok. Lacking peanut flavor IMO but dumplings were good! Would absolutely return and try other items. CASH only!“

“Relatively new places, launched by a Chinatown local. You will come across this place through a keyword search for “Cantonese”. Don’t be disappointed if you don’t get the flavors as if you were in Sai Ying Pun. Dishes are Americanized to tailor to the locals. And yes, “general Tso’s chicken” has its honorable place on the menu. And yes, it is amazing. All dishes are amazing. No wonder there is a huge line to get a table. There hasn’t been a single smile coming out of any of staff members, but it’s ok. Food quality and atmosphere overshadow particularities of one’s hard day at work.“

“One of my favorite Sichuan spots in NY. It's pretty difficult to get a reservation, but they take walk ins and you can put your name down while walking around the area and you can even grab a drink at one of the many bars in the area while you wait. There's also a Martha's country bakery nearby. The restaurant itself has a minimalist decor. They have one long center bench community table that is honestly perfectly spacious and good for any size party. We tried a lot of different dishes from the menu. Some of our favorites were the Dan Dan noodles, Chungking spicy chicken, sautéed duck with ginger, and you HAVE to get the mustard greens fried rice. Absolutely phenomenal. This place is great for dates or small groups. Will definitely go back.“

“OMG...this IS the best sponge cake you'll have in NYC. I've had my fair share looking for one that compares to the original Kam Hing. “Having a halal dietary requirement this place was perfect since the entire menu is vegan. I ordered the vegetable dumplings and the truffle rice.. The dumplings were top notch- they were steamed to perfection and the bottom was crispy and that chilli oil… speechless. My favourite has to be the Brussels sprouts- they're saucy yet crispy 10/10.The staff were very friendly shoutout to Luke. Definitely will be coming back when I return to New York.“

“Being that I spend so much time in Chinatown, my social media feeds are often pumped full of cheap eats and hidden gems etc etc. when I saw the video for this literal hidden gem underground "looks hella sketchy" dumpling spot - I said to a coworker we must go I bet we walk past all the time - and we walked up to the glass doors and fully hesitated because yes it is THAT SKETCH - I said we are going and opened the doors went down the stairs and the other stairs and ordered the dumplings (the man at the window spoke English) and OMG seriously the best I've had and I will 100% return for more and to try other menu items. CASH ONLY There's other stores in this defunct mall. Jewelry and perfume ? Knockoffs? Not sure.“

“This is a good affordable and quick meal to grab in the LES. I came as a group of 5 and had shared different appetizers. Everything was served quick as soon as we sat. We ordered different things: - Steamed Dumplings - Soup dumplings - Bokchoy - Beef Pancake - Cucumbers - Beef Huimei The highlight was the beef pancake. It was not that greasy but super fluffy and flavorful with a good amount of meat. I enjoyed the dumplings, soup dumplings and the cucumbers to share. The dumplings were all juicy with a good amount of meat in them. The veggies all had good flavor too. The noodles on the other hand, were not spicy at all. I was surprised at how mild they were and my friends agreed. You have to add chili oil to it but it is still not spicy. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my food! Don't forget it's cash only and it is BYOB with a minimum of $18 per person.“

“This is the easiest 5 star review I've ever left. Came here for an anniversary and the staff made it feel incredibly special. The food was divine, environment was great, and service was beyond impeccable. Anything you could want for a celebration or just a nice night out. The tasting menu was wonderful and would absolutely recommend spending the additional $10 for the custard and caviar. If you're torn between desserts go with the cake and sorbet, both are incredible but it's the more complete and balanced dish imo. Honestly thanks again to the staff for making a special night even moreso.P.s. I would buy the scallion butter by the tub if I could.“

“Came in last night around 7:30pm. The girl taking my order seem like she didn’t want to be there and not the friendliest. I was a bit intimated and shy to order more as she seemed annoyed the more the I ordered. The girl bringing my food out was lovely! Made sure I was satisfied with my food, and named every dish as it came out & overall very upbeat. I didn’t grab her name but she & beef noodle made my experience lovely!!“

“Beautiful interior design, cute booths, ample space despite the relatively small store footprint. Lunch sets were excellent! We ordered 2 lunch sets + an extra main which is just right for two people with large appetites. The double cooked pork and spicy chicken were exceptional - honestly a quality I’d expect in China. The eggplant dish was a bit too sweet (and I’m from an area that eats sweet) but cooked just right otherwise. Ingredient quality was excellent. Highly recommend going for lunch!“
