“Went the other night with my brother who came to visit. “They can’t do it like this in Cali!” We were tended to by Maria at the counter who provided lovely and friendly service given how many times we went back for more menu items. Been coming here for a few years and will keep coming back. This place is great“

“Great Italian food and a decent menu, not much choice but not too much. It's located next to Post Office 34 and is very trendy. The view and service are great, but it's noisy as there isn't much to absorb the sound. We ordered focaccia, roasted peppers and pasta. Everything is great and super fresh.“

“Went last night for a little friend date. We were sat promptly at a nice two top by the front window. Our server, who was the most italian server I’ve had since Italy, described the specials perfectly. Everything sounded delicious and I wanted to hear him talk more. All the food was top notch. The mushroom pasta special was a bit pricey ($29 a little sticker shock) and could have used more of that mushroom flavor, however, the pasta ribbons were of a most excellent quality with a nice chew, so I was still satisfied. The best item of the night was the roasted cauliflower special with the piccata sauce. My only qualm was the server, though magnificent, described the dish as being accompanied by focaccia bread. Upon receiving the check I discovered the focaccia was a separate charge. Felt a slight sense of hoodwinked but no matter - it was delicious bread.Service is nice as relaxed in that very European way. It was nice to be given time and not felt rushed out. In fact, I requested the check, which often time a restaurant doesn’t afford you the pleasure of doing. Will be back for certain.“
“One of the best fish/seafood meals I’ve had in NYC at Fulton Fish. Thankfully small menu. Superb service. Afterward, we perused the other places in this beautifully laid-out building. You can’t miss!“

“We found this gem of a bar/restaurant and visited five or six times. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff very professional and friendly. Eddie provided excellent service and Gabriel the owner is so welcoming and friendly and has time for everyone. The food was out of this world - particular mentions are Ravioli Zucca and the Brasato di Costolette di Manzo (short ribs to die for). The bomboloni (Italian doughnuts with chocolate and caramel sauces) is one of the best desserts I’ve had! We would definitely recommend this place. It’s in an excellent location opposite Central Park.“

“Couples or parties of 2 get ready to cozy up to your fellow patrons. If you need to get up tables will have to be pulled forward to let you out. Larger groups definitely have more room and spacing, but nonetheless the experience will be intimately loud. We came for the highly reviewed Coniglio (braised rabbit) which did not disappoint, but the Spaghetti Neri is a must try. The octopus was perfectly cooked and enrobed in a peppery sauce whose "slow burn" made it hard to put my fork down or prevent my partner from eating out of my plate. Their oxtail and cuttlefish appetizer is an "interesting" experience. The texture was heavy on the creamy and soft with flavors that channeled childhood memories for me, but were in conflict with each other for my partner. Thankfully, the Primitivo Orion was sublime on the palate in all the ways. If you're in the mood for a light dessert that isn't heavy on the sweetness, their panna cotta with wine infused cherries and almond biscotti is the perfect end cap. This place gets packed, so make a reservation. Our 6:45 pm booking was the sweet spot where the turnover from earlier diners gave us a little space for hand holding across the table and a mini lull to shout my man a happy birthday.“

“We recently had our daughters baptism dinner at Trattoria L'incontra and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our event was enjoyable and accommodative. Alfredo and his team were extremely friendly and attentive to every detail. During our meal, Chef Rocco came out to ask how everything was and even brought us another pasta course to try on the house. The food was truly exceptional. Each dish was presented beautifully and tasted even better. Overall, I highly recommend Trattoria L'incontra to anyone looking for a great dining experience. The combination of excellent service and delicious food makes it a standout restaurant in the area. I can't wait to go back!“

“A friend told me about their Porchetta pop-up at lunchtime Thu-Fri-Sat and I had to try. Had the standard Porchetta sandwich, which was a very good size, served on fabulous fresh baked foccacia. The meat was very tender and the flavors were all wonderful. Already looking forward to next time!“

“We've been to Casa Limone many times, usually for lunch. The Executive Lunch on weekdays is our choice every time. The portion is just right and the salmon crudo and soup are always great choices. My wife and I split dessert and the gianduja is wonderful. Service at Casa Limone is always terrific from bussers to servers. Casa Limone is our go-to whenever we look for lunch in midtown.“

“Delightful spot to get together with friends or for a date night.Queue can be long but more flexible if you're open to outdoor seating. Just leave your name, number, and explore the neighborhood (stay close!).Food was more generous than expected without tipping into quantity over quality zone. Pasta had a nice chew, anchovy bruschetta was even more of a win than anticipated, and waiter was helpful when it came to wine choice.Service became a little more relaxed as the tables filled up and one group table seemed a bit indecisive. However, that's a matter of circumstance. All in all, good service.“

“Too bad there aren’t more stars to click on. As a Sicilian/Italian every time I go to an Italian restaurant I have to always settle for the close enough. Not this time at Piccola Cucina Estiatorio, 71 Thompson Street NYC. After seeing their extremely authentic Sicilian menu online I knew that it had to be the real thing. After easily reserving a table online we showed up with yes our hopes being very high. For the first time the food was everything I had hoped for. 1. Arancini: nicely crunchy and flavored. Not oily or old at all. 2. Grilled veggies: although simply presented they were really tasty and fresh. 3. Involtini: out of this world. Exactly made like in my town in Sicily. A Moist, tender, flavored with some really tasty mozzarella cheese, served on a nice bed of caponata. 4. Maccheroni alla Norma: finally my very favorite dish. I almost cried. Besides a fantastic pasta, rigorously cooked al dente, there was a more than generous amount of diced eggplant, obviously, with basil leaves, olive oil and everything the Mediterranean has so generously given to Sicily for thousands of years. It’s worth mentioning the more than welcome grated “ricotta salata” as a testimony to the high attention to detail of Chef Gioele. That was a dinner I will not easily forget. The last thing I want to say is that, according to the highly professional and attentive staff, almost every single ingredient in this restaurant is flown directly from Sicily including the very tasty cannoli filled with ricotta cheese. (The cheese flies frozen during shipping). Sorry for the long review. I only wanted to show my super happiness with this restaurant. ANGELO.“

“Small, cozy bar and Italian restaurant in Carroll Gardens. We made ourselves a challenge for 2024 to try a new spot (new to us) each time we wanted to go out to eat. Another local spot checked off the list! We started with the fried calamari (and zucchini), which was a heaping portion! We ate it all, it was fresh and delicious! I steered away from the black ooze that was squid ink mayo or something, and stuck to the marinara dipping sauce instead! I gor the lasagne which was very dense and rich and filling. It had almost a smoky flavor. My other half got a margherita pizza which has a huge crust, which had a lot of black charring which isn't my cup of tea, but he was fine with it. The pizza crust had a squishyness to it, and the bottom isn't crispy, if that's what you're looking for. I just had a Diet Coke or 2, and he had a couple beers. I think they only had a choice of two beers. The service was good, and all in all it was a nice Sunday night dinner.“

“Looking for some excellent classic southern Italian food? Old school, right out of a movie with waiters in tuxedos and decor from over 50 years ago. Fantastic chicken parm, mussels, eggplant rollatini. It’s been around since 1900 so they must be doing something right. Come down to Brooklyn and make sure you have a reservation. They do have valet parking too.#hollyshotspots“

“Hands down best fettuccine Alfredo I’ve ever had, as well as the best red sauce on the lobster ravioli. The atmosphere was immaculate, with classic Italian music playing outside over the patio. The service was some of the best I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The food was cheap for lunch. However, dinner options are around $20-$30 per person. We were looking for somewhere to eat and many waiters were asking us to dine at their establishments as we walked through the neighborhood. We were drawn in by Mr. Ayman and one of the waiters. Mr. Ayman was an excellent, gracious host who truly cared about his service and food. If you’re in Little Italy you have many restaurants to choose from. Be sure to choose L’Amore.“

“L’Artusi continues to be a solid standard in the Village for Italian. The bucatini, the picci, the cinnamon chocolate chip cookies, and the chicken are all consistent standouts for me. That being said, we had three appetizers last night (burrata, little gems, and the tuna crudo) which were all under seasoned. I would add the Cappeleti to that list as well. All could have used some salt, etc.The other part that just can’t be avoided is waiting even though you have a reservation. We had a 9:15, were on time, and sat down around 10pm!! Will likely be back, but there are also many other wonderful Italian spots in the Village….“

“Beautiful place to eat. It was sunny when we went and it was super comfortable on the terrace. The food was delicious and the quantities were quite large.I especially recommend the pesto pasta and the mushroom pizza. “We enjoyed our dining experience at Osteria Nonnino. The servers are attentive and make sure you always have a full glass. They have a variety of specials to try, I ordered the chicken parmesan which was great. Not too thick of a piece which is how I like it and topped with some pasta. For dessert was the tiramisu. The tableside tiramisu was delicious and the presentation of the server putting it all together was awesome.“

“Come for the space, there's a lovely enclosed patio in the back! Stay for the pizza and the drinks, both of which were surprisingly good. Be warned, however, that the menu is a novella. So many options, it's approaching overwhelming. If you like Neapolitan-style pizza, you'll definitely enjoy La Lanterna's. It was the right chewiness, and the toppings and sauce were tasty. I also had one of the many available adult beverages, opting for a hard coffee. It was excellent. The cheese and pate plate was good -- the bread it came with was well seasoned and had a nice crisp. But the presentation definitely leaves something to be desired, it definitely looked like an elementary school science fair project on the plate. Overall, good food, not too pricey, and a nice patio. Solid option!“

“Before actually visiting Dante, I had featured them in an article on the low ABV revolution for Drinks International. Dante is a shining example of an industry shift towards lighter aperitivo-style drinking establishments. Inspired by their travels in Italy, the team wanted to promote the European style drinking experience to New Yorkers, accustomed to sipping Old Fashioneds, even before dinner. Original founder Naren Young says that customers often hang out for hours, sipping four of five of Dante’s sessionable drinks like the Garibaldi, Americano, Spritz or lighter versions of the Negroni.Dante is an Italian aperitivo hangout done well. Think Bar Termini but on a larger scale. A staff with positive energy, comforting natural lighting throughout the bar, and skilled and happy bartenders making a better rendition of the Garibaldi than in Italy. I had such a great experience at Dante that I was tempted to visit a second time the following morning before my flight back to Milano.“
