Manetta's 10-76 Jackson Ave, Long Island City Italian • $$

“A decent, old school neighborhood Italian joint. I love places like this for the ambiance, novelty, owners/service, and obviously the food! They brought out bread to start which was good but not spreads or oil were offered. They have a huge board of specials they bring to your table and I got the lavender cocktail special--tasty at first but all too sugary and I traded my friend for his wine. I wasn't overly hungry so I got the octopus appetizer and a small salad. The octopus was grilled to perfection and plated well. The end of the tail was super crispy. The salad had a good balance of flavors with apple, dried cherries, and hazelnut, but was too drenched in dressing for my taste. Since I didn't even get an entree, I plan on coming back since I love to support a business like this. Prices were pretty good and it had a homey atmosphere with a lot of celebrations going on on a late Saturday night. At this point I'm still a bigger fan of manducatis down the street but manettas is worth it just for the little Italian shop they have in the front.”

“boyfriend and i’s occasional date spot, soup is always rich compared to more authentic ramen shops but sometimes im in the mood for a food coma lol. service is good and the place can really fill up over nights and weekends. alcohol section pairs well with the food well but can be a bit pricey. they have a good lunch special going through the week if you’re available in the morning and early afternoon time, and its conveniently right next to a gelato store for dinner and dessert.one thing that bugs me is how damn tight the tables are together, you will try getting up from your booth and stick ya butt right in someones dinner or visa versa. not great and perhaps they sacrifice a table or so for a more accessible space for diners.”

“Amazing service at Sami’s Kabab House LIC!! Me and my friends (group of 5) came here after class to break our fast during Ramadan and it was such an amazing experience. Service was courteous, fast, and excellent, we were seated immediately and given refreshments. We got the family combo, and each bite was perfection. Every kebab, especially the chicken tikka and lamb shank was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Their kabuli pulao is also 10/10, some of the best I’ve had hands down! You can tell the owner takes real pride in what they do! It’s in an excellent neighborhood and I think everyone should come by and try this place. Worth every single penny spent, and I can’t stop recommending it enough. You’ve won our hearts Sami’s Kabab House, and we will definitely be back!! ❤️”

“Amongst the 3 of us, we had a salad, three entrees, and two desserts. The agnolotti was absolutely spectacular. The pasta was perfect with a creamy cheese filling, and the sauce with its slightly lemony flavor was well complimented by the peas and scallions. The little peppers were sweet and fresh, and they added so much flavor. The white cheesecake and raspberry sorbet was light and beautiful. And the tiramisu was perfect. The service was impeccable and the ambiance was cool. I would definitely return here in a minute!”

Once we walked in and noticed that there seemed to be a lot of “regulars” that knew the staff, we knew were in a good place! The food and service is fantastic. Everything that we had was full of flavor and melted in your mouth. We started with the stuffed green plantains with shredded beef and then had the Lechon Asado con mojo criollo and Rib eye steak with a side of sweet plantains. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They were very appreciative of our compliments. The only thing we regret is not going in there sooner!side note: the skirt steak must be very good because 5/6 people next to us ordered it for their dinner!”

“Grew up in Queens eating Singas Pizza from the 1980’s to 2000, then moved to the Hudson Valley. Happen to be in Queens with the family and decided to have them savor the Sjngas that I grew up eating. The personal pizzas of which they have many different topping variations has just the right thickness and crispy crust. The tomato sauce and cheese are just perfect with the crust. Every bit of flavor was just as I remembered and my family all agreed and enjoyed every bit of it. Singas has many different locations throughout NY and they all have the same consistent amazing taste. This location is inside a supermarket and it’s part of their food court so the ambience is just as you would expect from a food court.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian toppings.”

Tadka Indian Cuisine 13-05 43rd Ave #13-15, Long Island City Indian • $$

“Excellent service on the phone and in person. I ordered the fish biriyani and the fish was super tender as well as the rice. The seasonings were perfect and not overly spiced, the plate was affordable and filling, and it came out fast. The restaurant is like a banquet style setup so good for casual dinners or celebrations, it is a little bit of a smaller space though.Highly recommend this spot!”

“Great place for brunch in LIC and glad I made a resv. Place was really busy but it didn't look like people were waiting long. The service was great considering how busy it was. Food came out quickly, hot and fresh. BBQ Pork hash was sweet and good. Brunch burger was good, not great. Mac and cheese was great as was the eggs bene. Very active and noisy, but in a good way. Def a local gem.”

“This bar is seriously my favorite pub. The bar tenders are responsive and conversational amd with most bartenders there are generous buy-backs. The patrons are kind, fun and conversational. I drink a bit, and am loyal to the place where shane McGowan was a regular in recent times past. Ask for aron, eric, or robbie and these blokes will treat you right.”

“Stopped by because I always pass here! The tacos were good and came with a lot of meat. They added cilantro and onions. Next time I'll probably add cheese and sour cream. They do not serve guacamole. They have a lot of Latin ingredients for sale. If you need specific ingredients for the perfect salsa or Mexican dish you can find it here. The prices are inexpensive and great for a quick lunch or dinner. It's more of a deli not a restaurant!”

“Hi, I'm Trish,I live right up the block from Kate’s Corner Cafe. I have known her since she graced Astoria & Long Island City with delicious breakfast and lunch sandwiches and omelet platters. Every time I go there, I order everything so mouthwatering that I want to order for three or four people. Very professional personalities are great there. Everyone who works there is exemplary. Kate is very down-to-earth, warmhearted, and friendly to everyone she needs. They get the orders done as soon as possible, especially for all of those working people that go there that have only so much time for lunch. Her business has expanded to one of the colleges in the area. Oh, to top it all, she does catering. Yes, did I tell you she also has a food truck? And to top it all, she does catering. She can do it all. If you want some excellent food in the area and beyond, please check them out.I go back repeatedly; thank you so much, Kate, for making great food for our area.Thank you for being a great friend!!!?????? ? ??”

“My fiancé and I have been walking past this location for over a year and finally found the time to go in.

“Coffee was good and my wife enjoyed her cocktail. We never seen black salt on a drink. The staff was nice but they did take a little long to cut a piece of cake and banana loaf. The carrot cake was great but the banana loaf was not so much. Tasted bland and burnt but I doubt they made it to order.
