I heard that Tonchin is difficult to get walk-ins for, so I was really excited to get a reservation here. There was a long line of walk-ins when we arrived for our 12pm reservation. The restaurant has a cool modern vibe and good service. Overall there were some things I liked, but nothing was particularly memorable.The kimchi mushroom ($8) was meh and not worth the cost. Everyone in NYC raves about Tonchin, and it's definitely worth a try. It's super popular so make sure you make a reservation. The space itself is fairly large and comfortable. The Momo mocktail ($12) was sweet and refreshing. As for food, I went for the Tonchin Classic Tokyo Tonkotsu ($21). It was delicious, with a rich and savory broth and perfectly jammy egg. However, I have had better value elsewhere with more toppings, meat, etc.

Very good definitely worth the visit if you're in Manhattan.
