Went there on a Friday evening after drinks. This place felt like a trusted friend. When every place else was booked we knew we would find food here and we did! I always love diners since they are so fast with their orders. We got seated immediately. My friends ordered their burger and half/half sandwich. The pastrami was a little dry but flavorful. I had the fish burger that was really nice and crispy. We also ordered the chocolate shake which was amazing and just what we needed.
We had booked a walking tour and the meeting point was in front of the Waverly Diner. So what could be more obvious than to fortify myself with breakfast there beforehand?The diner is a traditional small restaurant in Greenwich Village and offers breakfast as well as lunch and dinner.The staff were all very nice and accommodating and the food was very good. The fresh fruit salad was really freshly cut and the bagel was well toasted and already warm with butter when it was served....read full review

Perfect breakfast. I dined here early on a Saturday morning before a meeting and had the Eggs Benedict with Lox. It was excellent. It came with generous portions of lox and the eggs were (for me) perfectly creamy, not runny. And the hashbrowns were exactly what I wish for from a diner breakfast.The staff that served me were each polite and friendly. An altogether relaxing and delicious meal.
