“I grew up in the area but it took us far too long to try this place. My husband and I finally stopped the other day and we both said they have the best Mexican food we’ve had in a very long time! Staff was very friendly and drinks were fabulous! This is going to be our new favorite go to place!! ❤️”

“It's unfortunate that I feel compelled to write this review. Our family has been going to Shades since they opened; we remember the joy when they were finally able to sell wings. For years, it was at least a weekly stop, so it is safe to say we've been in there hundreds of times. We've developed relationships with many of the servers, bartenders, and managers. It was always a pleasure to see the young people grow up, move on to bigger and better things, grow families, see picture of their kids, etc. Was nice to see some of our favorite comes back for summer break or part-time and hear about what they'd been up to. In short, we liked the place!The kitchen has always been hit or miss. But... it used to be that the servers were always advocates for their customers and willing to make things right. Not so much anymore... we have generally stopped going there because it's gone so down downhill and the last several visits have been such disasters! Now, it seems that corrective and constructive actions have been replaced by defensive aggression towards the customers. (Don't tell the customer that the pitiful, shriveled single piece of lettuce that's very clearly been sitting under a heat lamp so long it's turned black next to the one end slice of tomato on a BLT is "just the way they make". Crap like that should have NEVER walked out the door if anyone who had any pride had seen it!!)Instead of working together as a team as we have seen them do over the years, recently, there has been noticeable catty behavior between the servers that honestly creates a very negative and toxic environment.Have talked to multiple people who have worked there or know people who have worked there and the stories are not pretty or flattering.When your server comes to your table and tells the customer (as ours did yesterday), "I just want to cry, I can't wait to get out of here"... maybe there's a problem.There are lots of specific incidents/details I could relate, but in general, I don't patronize places where I'm repeatedly demeaning, insulted, and made to feel a nuisance!!Congratulations Shades on developing a solid culture of mediocrity where belittling your customers for YOUR shortcomings has not only become acceptable, but the pervasive norm!!This is not sustainable, and unless the ship is righted and pride in customer service and product are returned, your days are numbered! Shades is a staple and beloved in Canal. Please take this feedback as a gift as our family genuinely wants you to be successful. You made it 20 years, but I will be amazed if you make it another 5 unless things change.”

“Another great breakfast - brunch place with many options. I tried the bottomless stuffed french toast witch was good but a little to sweet for me. I couldn't even finish my first plate. Quick great service and never a letdown. The only thing I can say is I wish they would get there cabbage back to do there shrimp tacos because they we're amazing. Bring them back guy's.”

“Thursday night food consisted pizza and fried cheese curds. Lois's rail has really good pizzas and don't hold back on the toppings. Fast service and both items arrived fresh and hot. Not a huge selection on beer but something for everyone's tastes. Wine and cocktails too. The only negative is the door. It doesn't close on its own. You would be surprised by how many people are oblivious to the cold blast of air after they enter and never shut the door. Tip sit far away from the door.”

“I was in the area checking on a home for a client. Figured I'd stop in for a quick bite, and I'm glad I did!! Excellent service from a group of young ladies who were beyond friendly! Good conversation, but even better food!!! The thin, crispy fries had to be the best I've had in a while! I'm not sure if I was just starving, or if they really were that incredible haha! The house Bison Burger was above average as well. I didn't partake, but the food and drink selection look plentiful! Lots of local brews on tap!! Thank you, Harvest moon!”

“The owner was very kind, showed us how to use the ordering system and seemed very proud of his business. Food was fresh and wasn't overly expensive. Like a nicer Sheetz.”

“This is a delightful local bakery that caters to the whole family. The kids loved the cupcakes especially the birthday one and the holiday cookies. I always order a gluten free wedding cupcake. The mochas and lattes are good too and saves you from Starbucks.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options are available for the cupcakes and cookies.”

“BEST CHINESE IN COLUMBUS!! Hands down!! The orange chicken, lo mein & moo goo gai pan are soo good & everything is always hot & fresh. They also have reasonable prices & fast delivery. I've never gotten anything from here that I didn't love!! Try it, you won't be disappointed!! They are a small takeout restaurant in Southeast Columbus that doesn't look like much, but the looks are deceiving. I won't get Chinese food from anywhere else in Columbus & that's a fact!”

All of them have such great attributes and very friendly. They go above and beyond to make each guest feel like they are important to their business. They know your name after the first initial introduction. I look forward to visiting this wonderful place every Tuesday night.. here are a few of our wonderful memories from the alumni..”

“Let's remember those 5 stars ratings shown are 5 Waffle House stars. This isn't the Ritz. It's Waffle House. That said, this Waffle House is a credit to its brand. The cook knew his game, the young lady serving was on top of hers, there were the predictable smattering of customers for 3:00 am and it was a bright, clean, warm refuge from a cold and dreary world.
