HUGE shoutout to the guy working tonight, Friday, February 9! He was the only person working and still took the time to give a pleasant greeting despite the crazy busyness, phone ringing off the hook, etc. He was clearly cranking out a ton of pizza, and my very large order was hot and ready to go when I arrived. THANK YOU for all of your hard work.

This is one of those food experiences that you wish had happened sooner in life. I completely lucked out with this discovery. I really don’t know where to start this review. Do I tell you about the food or the owner? Both are amazing! Here is my experience. Sammy has a massive personality. You can tell within seconds he is passionate about his food. I had to do a double take when I first saw him. He looks like Franco Harris the Steelers Running back. He sounds and laughs like Seth Rogan. He just gives off a vibe that makes you feel like you have known him for years and he is your best friend. Sammy is so happy to share his experience with his Youngstown upbringing and his take of Northeastern Ohio regional pizza. I have had Pizza in New York, Chicago, Detroit, and quite a few other places. This pizza is in its own category. It’s special. I had a Potsy pie. This pizza is similar to others “works” pizza. The sausage used on this melts in your mouth like thin sliced ribeye. You can taste the quality immediately. The sauce is sophisticated. It’s a low acidity, and not sweet at all. This is grown up pizza. The mountain of peppers, olives, red onion, pepperoni and mushrooms make it impossible to eat politely. If you ever have one of those nights where you can’t decide what to eat, do yourself a huge favor, order a pick up pizza. It’ll force you to meet Sammy. I promise you won’t meet a better human. Then you can take your pizza home, make a giant mess in private, then realize he has so many different options to try on your next visit. Once you have had this pizza you won’t have those nights where you can’t decide what you want. This pizza will always be in the back of your mind. I’m already thinking about The Shamrock.

Dublin Bridge St pizza continues to be one of, if not THE best local pizzerias around town. Many local places offer up a traditional menu of your typical pizzas that will make it difficult to discern one from another - not bridge street; Here the menu offers a twist on a traditional favorite that allows the pizza to stand apart. For example: the addition of garlic to the Romano Roasted pizza is FANTASTIC! and they don't just sprinkle garlic on either - how much garlic you ask? answer: yes! Their meatballs source local meat and are made fresh each morning - a meatball sub for lunch is terrific. Their Wild buffalo sauce is also hand made from scratch by the owner; not poured out of a bottle shipped from a supplier. You can get it on a sub or pizza, but I made a special request and asked for it on their wings which management happily obliged and my wife loved it! Thanks Castro!
