Lovely location. Decor, Food, and service exceptional!

I definitely recommend giving this place a try. We visited right after they opened, so we hit a few kinks, but the pros well outweigh the cons. We will visit again soon, and now we know how to do it better. The crab dip alone is enough to return for. Pros first: The crab dip was incredible! My cucumber-lime martini was almost too good. I had the swordfish, and it was delicious. My 12yo got the Duo of Joyce Farms chicken which we both found exceptional! My husband’s Duck Cavatelli was also very good. The ambiance is lovely and the views are breathtaking. The staff were all kind and attentive, but especially our initial greeter. We appreciated the thoughtful timing of the courses, the bread that was provided, and plenty of water refills. The server was also kind enough to share recommendations. Now the cons. My boys studied each mocktail description before making a choice. The server inadvertently got the drinks mixed up, so they each got the other’s drink. My children WILL NOT drink after each other. I kindly mentioned it, and she did apologize. She admitted to guessing verses asking the bartender. There was no offer to fix it. My boys were SUPER bummed about it, as they both had their minds up with their selection. If I had pushed, I’m sure the issue would have been corrected. That is just not my style. Secondly, she wrote my older son’s order down correctly but made an error entering it in the system. They brought out the fillet. They did make his burger, but I was finished with my meal when it arrived. I do understand how that happens, so it wasn’t a big deal. However, the burger was the greasiest I have ever seen. It was literally dripping a good bit. He also found it bland, and he’s not at all picky. I’m curious if the grease had something to do with them trying to expedite the corrected order. We will visit again. We already have upcoming hotel reservations. I think Patterson Kitchen will be a great asset to the area, and I do recommend trying them out.

This review is going out to all my friends who are residents of the Five Forks area!! So excited about the new, amazing fine dining option we now have inside the Hartness property!! Tucked away just enough off Hwy 14….it is a five star resort in the middle of a sanctuary! Tonight was a perfect Spring evening, so inside and outside dining was available. We chose inside, in the bar area. It has fabulous booth seating next to tall windows draped with gauzy white sheers. The glass doors were open onto the patio overlooking a pond and we were able to have a cocktail while watching the sunset through the trees. The entire space is beautifully appointed…..from the dark wood wine lockers to the engraved wine glasses!! Attention has been given to every detail. In addition to fun craft cocktails, they have a good wine list (that they said they are still adding to) and a variety of creative menu options. We started with complimentary fresh bread and whipped butter along with a charcuterie board that we ordered as a shareable. Delicious!! I had a “small plate” (I always love this option) of sashimi tuna stuffed with crab meat as my meal. Very nice presentation and the flavor was delightful. Highly recommend asking for our waiter, Scott! Friendly, polite, and provided SUPERB service!! We *will* be back!!
