“Excellent gluten free selections (ask for the GF menu). And fantastic Creole seasoning. We were there at lunch. My wife ordered the blackened walleye with rice and coleslaw. I ordered the blackened catfish with rice and steamed vegetables. Portions so generous that we will not be eating dinner. We loved the atmosphere inside the restaurant. Also have the option of outdoor seating. Our server Olivia did a fantastic job. Never felt like she was hovering. We felt that the meals were offered at a fair price. We will definitely be back.“

“Stopped here tonight for dinner with my wife and all I can say is WOW!!! Best prime rib I ever had. My wife had the seafood platter and was also very happy with it. Our server Paula was absolutely amazing!! If we make a stop back on that side of LaCrosse, we will definitely return!!“

“Our family came to Howies after my daughter raved about this place. We brought my brother and his daughter with. We got to sit up top so our waitress had to carry our drinks and food to up to us. If you haven’t met waitress Jessica W yet you must! She was a rock star! She kept our drinks full and got our food to us in a timely manner. She was so friendly and we all loved her. The food was dynamite! We loved the appetizers and our main meal. We will for sure be back and will be asking for Jessica again!“

“My favorite pizza in LaCrosse! We most often take out but when we do eat in the service is good and it has a good atmosphere!
Parking: Street parking can be hard to come by but downtown is nice and Big Al's is centrally located so usually not to difficult to find a spot even if you have to walk a block.“

“This place is incredible. At only 13 dollars a seat, it's well worth the price even if you only get one bowl--as long as you have to know what goes into making good Asian food.Hint--it's not the szechuan, chili, or soy sauce that make up the body of your flavor. It's the various types of garlic, ginger, and sesame oil that give Asian food its deep, complex flavor--and you don't need much. (That's why the sesame oil ladle is small. Probably diluted with vegetable oil too--that stuff is like whiskey when it's straight.)I thought the cheesecake rangoon would be a silly gimmick dish, but it actually has a really balanced flavor. They clearly took into account how much more cloying it would be when warm and toned it down.“

“My husband and I enjoyed fresh, hot, delicious food. There were so many different items to choose from. The fried rice was not brown like every other Chinese restaurant in town. My mom loves yellow fried not soaked in soy. I took a large to go order for her. The spring rolls and rolls were crunchy and crispy! Will definitely be back here again!“
“Pearl Street brewery is a pretty cool little brewery that moved into the old La Crosse boot factory; it's dark and industrial with low ceilings. They have lots of space with a little outdoor beer garden. They generally have 16 of their beers on tap with a few that well distributed. On my last stop they had lite, a lime, Brown, chocolate strawberry porter, orange hazy IPA, Hopped IPA, Pale Ale, amber wheat, hibiscus sour, citra IPA, Oat Stout, an aged sour, Belgian Quad, margarita sour, a double IPA, and a cucumber seltzer. The service and the patrons are friendly. It is worth a stop and you may catch a band on the right night.“

“Very relaxing, everyone so friendly and food was fabulous! We stayed at The Radisson to see the Rotary Lights. After, we went back, freshened up and went downstairs for dinner, very convenient. We asked to be by the windows with a view the lights while we ate but no seats were available and our table was set at a different location, waiting for us to finish our drinks. The gentleman that seated us, moved our table to a window seat that had just opened up without even asking before we went in. We were very impressed that he did this and it made our meal that much more enjoyable. The food was fantastic and would highly recommend. This is our 4th year going there for the lights and we would do it any other way! Enjoy!!!“

“We love and enjoy entrées serve fresh every time we go. Disappointed with the shrimp salad, tasty butI felt there was not enough shrimp. The French onion soup is consistently delicious and so is the salmon. I enjoyed the fresh iced tea with a lemon wedge. Excellent service and great ambience. “
