Excellent cheeseburger! Also very good hot dog and deep fried pickles. Glad we stopped in. Also got yummy mini donuts for the road. Would recommend.

Excellent burgers!

Really good burger, flavorful. Crisp pickle fries

Very expensive food that is just ok. Takes a very long time for your order to be ready, about half an hour for fries and a burger. The Gold Panner across the road is a much better value.

Hey you are in the middle of no where, it’s really nice place to stop. Enjoy the stop and go for a walk on the board walk!

Overpriced mediocre food

The Roadside Grill is a small “mobile food truck” that never moves. It has an entire restaurant seating area with gendered bathrooms built around the truck. I’m gonna assume the owners found out how cheap a food truck was to purchase and chose to do that instead of build an actual restaurant. This manipulation of the rules has left an outdoor deck that is rarely cleaned or sanitized, and absolutely swarming with bugs. The messily handwritten menu plastered on the side of the truck shows their mishmash of food options ranging from American style burgers and sides to breakfast foods like French Toast, to fish and chips and... veal cutlets?? The prices are actually quite ridiculous for what you get, hamburgers start at $8 and that doesn’t include fries or a drink. I overheard the cashier argue with a customer who was visibly confused when she paid nearly $10 for what was presumably a meal and only received a single patty burger. From what I overheard, there is apparently an option to make your order a “meal” but I couldn’t find the price listed anywhere on the menu. The food was lifeless. We ordered chicken burgers. One crispy, one grilled (pictured.) mozzarella sticks and two slushies (pictured.)Crispy chicken burger: Small, overpriced, bland. The patty is thin and flat, barely reaching the edges of the bun. No sauces or spices.Grilled chicken burger: Plain, but not bad. The grilled chicken slab was actually quite sizeable and juicy. Albeit for $9 it was ridiculously overpriced for coming without fries.Having ordered both chicken burgers side by side, it left our mouths agape. The same price for two astronomically different sizes. My grilled chicken patty was EASILY twice the size of the crispy. But alas both lacked flavour. The mozzarella sticks were decent. But at $1 a stick, you’re playing me for a fool. They were MINI sticks to put it lightly, and completely do not justify the price. A better price would be $3.50 or $4. The marinara sauce provided was a good accompaniment.Overall. This place is mediocre and to be avoided unless you’re really hungry and really rich.Didn’t have a chance to try their breakfast items or ice creams but I wouldn’t bother to begin with.Review made Sept/2020.
