I had a wonderful dining experience. The Top Sirloin steak and the broccolini. I like my steaks Medium Rare and this was prepared perfectly. It paired well with a local lager but there is a good wine list if that is your preference.
There is a good assortment of steaks in various sizes. Make sure you save room for dessert!
Vegetarian options: There are options like salads, a vegetarian meatloaf, and vegetarian sheoherd's pie. Caution that it is a steak house so if you're focused on vegetarian options...why come here?

Service was superb. Vegetation meatloaf was burned at the top and inedible, but the restaurant apologized and gave us a discount. They treated us to a slice of ice cream cake for our birthday occasion. The salmon covered with pistachio was excellent.

We have been going to this location for years and it was always exemplary. Yesterday a very different story. The garlic mashed potatoes were at least a day old, carrots were hard, old carrots that were inedible. The steak . . . Felt like we were eating steak cooked the previous day. We were so disappointed as this restaurant was our “go to” for special occasions.
Our table was waiting for us. Our server, Eliza, was immediately ready for us, answered all our questions and was very attentive. The wait for appies and then food was brief but we did not feel rushed at all which, for Banff, is terrific. Overall a great evening.

Food was pretty good for the price. Steaks were overdone, according to their own 'doneness' scale, and we're super salty. Staff worked hard to move us to a quieter location after I complained (the main area has music that is too load for normal group conversation).

My husband and I wanted to celebrate our 1st anniversary with our dog, who was our ringbearer. He’s a 10 lb dog.
We know that they can take dogs on the patio, and when asked the hostess said yes, but there were no tables even though there was one. Sad to see a representative lie to us, when it was obvious .

Beautiful dinner just outside of the core downtown area in Banff.
With the high recommendations and good reputation, we were excited to dine in. A quick reservation a couple days out made it really easy. We came from downtown on Roam and were dropped off just outside the lodge that hosts this particular restaurant.
Service was excellent from the start. We were seated and waited on immediately. Water was refilled often and the starter sourdough was a perfect pre-meal snack
For dinner, we began with the crab cakes and lobster bisque. Both were really good. The crab cakes had a great crunch and slight spice to them. The bisque was creamy and rich. Quality seafood this far inland always gives us pause because it’s a special find.
Entrees included the lobster and crab Oscar-style steak. I know, it sounds like a lot, but it was really really good. Served with a twice baked potato, it was everything we could’ve asked for. Tender steak, succulent seafood, and a unique twist on a lovely hollandaise made for a lovely meal.
We were in the restaurant twice. We had steaks and burgers. The food was always top. The atmosphere is very nice and the service is very good and attentive. However, we were very surprised that we only got a shared table with 8 people if we accepted a surcharge of 18%. We then took two tables for 4 people each. But they weren't allowed to be in the immediate vicinity. Very strange. There was a tour guide next to us who frequents the restaurant. She just shook her head.
First time over in Canada and the restaurant was recommended to us from our tour guide. Wow, absolutely fab dinner, excellent food and service throughout the evening. Wish we had these restaurants over the in the UK
We had a family dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived and got seated right away. We had to wait for our waitress for a few minutes to acknowledge us get our water. She did not seem friendly! I ordered the steak with shrimp and crab oscar. The steak was fine, but the oscar was quite salty. I told our waitress that my meal was too salty and asked for 2 pieces of lemon to reduce the saltiness . She didn't ask me if I wanted something else. She just walked away and came back with 2 pieces of lemon (which helped a bit). I don't like to waste food, but a little acknowledgement by our waitress that my food was not up to par would have been nice. She never came back to see if my food tasted better. She was hanging out with the other staff in the corner. I have eaten at several Kegs in the last 30 years and the service we received at the Banff Caribou location was not their usual standards.

Just as you would expect from the Keg, but in Banff. This location was conveniently attached to our hotel and the perfect spot to meet an old friend since we had our baby in tow. Enjoyed some Rosé and a few apps. Service was on point and appies delicious.
