We were in Banff and kids wanted to celebrate my birthday here. Staff is so friendly and he even gave me birthday cake for dessert! We love the ice cream cake!!! Thank you!

Only had breakfast here. The self service buffet is rather dried out and over cooked - it's much better to go for something off the menu, such as The Mountaineer which will set you up for the day and is slightly cheaper.

The service from our waiter was amazing my steak was under cooked . Medium rare came out raw but was willing to overlook it . We were having a nice meal with family and friends 6 of us . Enjoying ourselves not being loud or rude , we all had one drink . We all see 2 rcmp vehicles pull u-turn with lights going .. so we joked that they were coming to get one of our party . Turns out they were . They came flying into restaurant up to a gentleman sitting by himself realized it was the wrong gentleman and came to our table ( hands were on their holsters ) they asked if anyone was wearing an axe . One of our party wanted to show another the hatchet he got for Christmas so he wore it sheathed in a holster on his belt down to the dining room and actually didn’t even take it out to show Instead of asking him about it , or asking him to take it back to his room they called the RCMP . Who came in as if someone was being threatened and held hostage .. it was embarrassing for the whole table and especially the person who had the hatchet. Again sheathed and in a holster . The police said someone called and said they felt threatened.. they asked him to put it away ( not illegal to have it .. not illegal to wear it , we were all calmly eating dinner not being rowdy in a bar ) no reason for anyone to feel threatened . He said certainly and got up from the table and was going to walk it up to the room .. the RCMP made a point of accompanying him ( not necessary he was doing as he was asked would drop it in room and come back )then the RCMP started grilling him about his name wanting to see his ID etc ..all in front of everyone in restaurant . It ruined our meal that we paid a lot of money for .. our friend came back and left right away because he was so embarrassed. Honestly any one of the staff could have asked him quietly to take it upstairs there was no reason to call RCMP and ruin a nice dinner and make any of us feel like criminals..( our waiter didn’t even know about it or that RCMP were called and had no issues with our table and had been joking around with our friend )I regret that we paid for a meal that all of us lost our appetite and barely ate because of an avoidable incident.

The food was very good. Unfortunately there was only 1 rib steak left on Friday evening, so the others had to eat something else. Poorly planned. The waitress was a bit overwhelmed. Otherwise it was pretty good.

I wish I could remark on the food, however.... Upon arrival, for my 6:15 reservation , we greeted with what was seemingly annoyance that we were there. We were sat at our table and had ample time to decide what we were going to drink, have for appetizers, main course and even made it to the dessert conversation... all the while no one had come to greet us at our table or even fill our water glass. After several staff members passing by our table... and 30 minutes had passed we decided to leave. I told the same uninterested hostess and here reply was a dazed “okay”... horrible service and terrible handling of the situation all around by their team

Celebrated my 60th birthday! First table we sat at was not the best spot for us. They moved us right away to a table right by the fireplace. Wonderful service and good food. Great place to have a birthday dinner.

The service was good. Did not like how the side order of chicken for my salad was $17 just for a small amount. That was the same cost of a full meal. Was not impressed with the pricing. Way to expensive for what you get.

We had a great experience! I like how the restaurant is broken up in sections and not one big room. Our server was fantastic! I never felt forgotten about and our food and drinks came quite quickly. What a fantastic place to eat!

The steak was done very nicely, however, very salty. Service was lack lustre and the place was dark, with intense spot lighting over each table. Felt like an interrogation desk. Hard to communicate with the server when you can't see their faces.Our table was disappointing as well. Sitting outside the kitchen and having the wait staff passing by the table constantly.
