Excellent upscale food experience in an unpretentious atmosphere, as if the family cook went to culinary school.

The food was great as was the service. Got halibut chowder and a round loaf of excellent bread to make a bread bowl. Instead I just ate the bread with butter, since it was so good.

We love the entire dining experience at the Cookery, from the food to the serving staff! We have thoroughly enjoyed all menu items, especially the oysters, but the amuse-bouche, (complimentary amusement for the mouth) really tickles our taste bud fancies!!

This restaurant is a standout in town and a must-visit if you're in the mood for something different, refined, and restaurant quality.

Although we booked online and did not receive a confirmation, the wait time was approximately 30 minutes.

We were greeted with a friendly smile, and our waiter, Sean, was attentive and offered excellent recommendations.

For entrée, we had smoky fish cakes with a side of pan-roasted Brussels sprouts and mushroom toast. For mains, we enjoyed shrimp n grit, as well as fried chicken. We finished our meal with a delightful carrot cake parfait. Every dish was flavourful and delicious.

Very unique twist to shrimp and grits... definitely worth trying. Halibut dish was textbook... couldn't ask for more subtle hues and flavors to highlight the natural taste of this Alaskan favorite. The mushroom toast was tasty and clever. The restaurant is a bit over priced in some things, but other dishes fairly priced.

Had dinner here and the meal was outstanding. The food was well prepared and full of flavor. The menu was quite diverse and with several great options. The food was a bit on the pricier side but was worth the cost. The staff were friendly and service was fast.

A really delicious dinner spot and one of the few places still open in October. We had the fish of the day (halibut) and the seafood chowder, both were wonderful! The cream cheese ice cream with the carrot cake parfait was perfect for dessert!

A great place to eat in Seward, and thanks be, open in the winter (except November). The wait for a reservation was too long for our appetites so we ate at the bar, and were happy. I loved my shrimp and grits, and we split three other appetizers: the mushroom toast, fish cakes, and a dolma special. Everything was good to excellent. This will now be our default choice for Seward restaurants.

Did a little oyster and fish cake happy hour at the bar here. In September on a Thursday didn’t have an issue getting in around 5:15/5:30. Service was quick and friendly and they didn’t mind we were doing just apps and drinks. Sat next to a local couple and had a nice time chatting with them about their experience living in Seward. Would recommend for foodies!
