Our group of four popped in for a drink while we waited for our table at Bamboo on 2nd. This was an excellent recommendation from the host at Bamboo. None of us had visited Avine before and were happy for the opportunity. All our cocktails were tasty and our server was fast and very friendly. Well go back when we can try some of their food too.

This is a very nice, small wine bar in downtown Birmingham. The service is top quality. The wine selections are very good. They serve small plates. Avine is set up to host small private parties.

After a second visit, I suspect this place will get a fifth star. My wife and I were looking for a cheese plate and someone in a nearby shop pointed us here. We were immediately impressed with the clean, crisp design ethic, offset by a wall of old Bessemer grey brick. It could be located in the East Village, NYC.For a wine bar, we were shocked to find a well curated, classic cocktail menu. We tried the Aviation and Sazerac and were very happy with them.The staff and owner were wonderful. We found this spot perfect for a late afternoon stop, not crowded, good background music and great cocktails.

Lovely place. I sat outside to get some sun after a full day of freezing air conditioning. The service was delightful and the burrata was just right for a glass of white wine. I chose Chardonnay but a Pinot gris would have been better yet. Enjoy and I'm jealous I can't be popping in soon.

Reed will take good care of you at the bar and helped find a great bottle to go. This is the best, and maybe only, spot to grab a bottle downtown. Great spot for wine lovers.

Not bad, but nothing to rave about. Goat cheese tart is interesting. Wines are decent. I did not like the sliders and honestly some good soul food, like a good slider or taco, would have made our night more enjoyable. The vibe of the waiters is great.

It was ok. The food tasted pretty good, but the portions were pretty small. There two things that made my decision easier not to go back there: First was the water they give you. I have to say they do a pretty good job refilling your glass without you asking for more, but that was room temperature water, it was 80 something degrees outside and the water was warm. We had to ask for ice, they brought some, once, and never again asked if we wanted more ice, but they kept bringing that gross warm water. It was so warm, the ice melted very fast. The other annoying thing was the very loud music. My friends and I had to literally yell to be able to hear each other. The place is pretty small, the music super loud, everyone talking very loud because of music being loud. Unless they have plans to turn Avine into a nightclub, I suggest they turn the music down, way down.

What an amazing “more than just” a Wine Bar. Our evening was really a 6 Star… dined at a fancy restaurant ( not Avine and not impressed ) close by…. But once we arrived at Avine and greeted by the owner … I think her name was ANGEL…. our evening was what we expected… The wine selection was perfect… Do not pass up this unexpected highlight of our evening!
