This review is posted only to point out that BayLeaf's website needs updating. 20 min one way drive to enjoy "International Buffet" Sunday only at 280 location. I arrive at the restaurant only to learn the buffet has been shut down for awhile and 280 location only does carry out. Please update the website. I was really looking to eating indian food. I'm not keen on wasting time and gas.

We were craving Indian while staying in Birmingham and this spot did not disappoint. There was good variety and everything was tasty.

Food was delicious! Service was wonderful! Very considerate and made an effort to make sure we were taken care of. I had the Chana Masala: wonderful! Vegan options are labeled for easy selection.

We love Indian food, and this place didn’t disappoint! Butter chicken and chicken tikka masala with naan were amazing. Prices weren’t bad for lunch—keep meaning to try the weekend buffet (I think it’s on Sunday). Interior isn’t anything to write home about, but we go for the food—service was great too.

I've visited here several times over the years of living on 280 and had nothing but wonderful experiences dining here. The owners are very nice and know how to cook some good grub!!! My go to for Indian food in the area.

Excellent food and service. The Sunday buffet is varied and lets you try a variety of Indian dishes. If you order from the menu you'll get a generous helping plus several dipping sauces and dessert buns. They'll tailor the spiciness of your order to your tastes. Can't recommend them enough.

Long wait for a big dinner pick up order (5 entrees, 5 breads, raita, chutney flight and gulab jamun rabdi). All of the entrees, breads and appetizers were excellent but the dessert was missing altogether. It was a $9 dessert so that wasn’t great. If it weren’t for the missing dessert I would give five stars. Very friendly service.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian optionsParking: Easy parking

This is the best Indian food I've had in Birmingham! I usually get the Butter Chicken, but I sometimes ask for recommendations from the owner when I want to try something new. He is very friendly and I have yet to be disappointed!

Delicious Food, friendly service ... a little too far for me but so worth it! For Indian food I will go the extra mile!

I was very pleased with my takeout experience from Bayleaf 280. Their butter chicken, saag paneer, chicken khadai, and samosas were excellent. They were out of some the other items ordered, but offered generous replacements. The only reason my review is 4 stars instead of 5 is that their lamb korma (my favorite) was not as good as the other dishes. It was what I'd have expected at a lunch buffet and was not as good as the other things. I'll be a repeat customer, but I'll go elsewhere for korma.

What a great surprise! How is that it took me so long to find out of this great restaurant?? I'm not that acknowledged and I get thrown off by overly spiced Indian food. Here, without knowing in details each dish, I ultimately ate every single bit of food! Everything was delicious. Also, they have a dog friendly patio, with is a big plus. Their kids menu offers more than other restaurants do. All considered this place rocks it!

Delicious food and excellent service! The server was so kind and patient with us, and our food was perfect. There were a lot of vegetarian and omnivore options, it was hard to choose only one thing on the menu. My sister and I were just looking for a quick bite to eat, but we may have found some of the best Indian food in the area. We'll be back for sure!

Quaint little Indian restaurant in Birmingham. Very clean, unique dishes with a twist to Indian food while maintaining the authenticity and taste. For eg., I got the Quesedilla which were made with tandooru roti and sruffed with Channa and cheese. I loved it.Vegetarian options: Many many optionsParking: Easy parking

Sorry, but the service is horrible. 3 tables in the entire restaurant. My wife asked the server if we could get our bread (which came with the meal) early. We had kids that were starving after swimming all day. The server flat out said No. " It comes with the meal". She explained her reasoning, and still got " no, I said it comes with the meal". Getting a refill on water is like pulling teeth....we also had to ask for napkins and silverware for our kids (4) (10). The food wasn't bad, but the wait time rexiculous. 15 minutes before anyone came to our table, and again, had to flag the waiter down just to get 1 refill. We left with all glasses empty...and thirsty. It just wasn't worth the hassle of getting more to drink. The food wasn't bad,, but portions small. There are plenty of Indian restaurants in the city that are great full to have business and they show it. Not this place in our experience.

I visited here a while back and the food was delicious! It was pretty slow because it was the middle of a weekday, but everything tasted wonderful! I felt that the menu was a little more extensive, and the food was a little more flavorful than the downtown location.
