Our dinner was outstanding. Service was impeccable - from the hostess to our server. No detail was missed! This was our very first dinner at Cafe Dupont and it did not disappoint. We will definitely be back!
Food was amazing. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The chef visited the table and everything!! Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Food was fantastic and service was terrific.
The food here is amazing. The fried shrimp & okra even better than the prior version with catfish. The beet salad was the most beautiful and tasty deconstructed salad I’ve ever seen, and I’m not a big fan of beets. The custom pottery dinner ware perfectly highlights the dishes. The newer built out space designed to look aged is impressive. One minor criticism: The glassware & stemware is understated and too small in my opinion, especially the martini and white wine stemware. The Oneida flatware is pretty in design but too light in the hand. The food here is among the best in Bham without question, consistently.
Took our daughter and friend for dinner while visiting them for parents weekend at Samford. Very nice. Be prepared for a slow paced meal experience. Very nice
The perfect restaurant for my husband and I to celebrate our anniversary!
The food was outstanding. For appetizers the charcuterie plate was different than I’ve ever had with pork belly, duck, and other meats, and the fried shrimp and okra were excellent. For entrees, I had the rabbit two ways and my wife had the filet. Both were delicious and we didn’t leave anything on the plates. For dessert, I had the berry cobbler with buttermilk ice cream and my wife had the beignets. We’re looking forward to the next time we can get back to Cafe Dupont!
Excellent experience. Delectable fare, lovely space, delightful service from bartender Maria. The amuse bouche and the sorbet palate cleanser between courses was a pleasant surprise. This is a star on the impressive Bham food scene.
I looked for a nice romantic date spot to take my fiancé to for her birthday, and Cafe Dupont was my final choice. It did more than satisfy, it blew me away! After being offered the complimentary valet service, we walked into the low lit, tile floor, quaint music and white linen table environment and were immediately greeted by multiple smiling hosts. We were greeted in very decent time, I had their unique old fashioned or "Sazerac" after the rye whiskey drink, and it was very pleasing, fruity and sweet, and just strong enough to say wow, this is a stiff drink without grimacing :) We had the charcuterie as an appetizer and that was really well-set -up; the experimental adventure of flavors that followed it hitting our table proved that charcuterie to be the best we'd ever had! Then we had our entrees, the roasted duck and prime beef tenderloin. The tenderloin was topped with sliced mushrooms and on a bed of Brussels sprouts and scalloped potatoes and was fantastic. My rabbit dish was served over roasted potatoes and arugula, I won't pretend to be a roasted rabbit connoisseur, but I can confidently say that the dish was one of the best I've ever had. Finally the moment we had been waiting for, the dessert menu. The birthday girl ordered the flourless chocolate cake and I got the raspberry/blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream along with a dessert drink made with rum and cream (and other forgotten ingredients) topped with cinnamon and it tasted like what the Christmas holidays should taste like. It was warm, sweet, creamy and just a really endorphin rising beverage to have with our desserts we ordered, along with complimentary beignets for her birthday! Now, I can definitely give a fair critique of beignets, I've had many over my years and to this day, I haven't had any better than these delicate yet piping hot pillows of flour on a snowy thick bed of powdered sugar. When I was full, and telling myself not eat another bite, I found myself betraying common sense and taking just one or two more sinful bites of the beignets at the very end of the meal. That should be a testament enough in itself! Our server, Carl, was polite and made good recommendations and of course attended to us very well the whole evening. My sweetheart at the end said "When I said take me out to dinner, I didn't expect all this. That was the best food I've ever eaten!"
Always something we look forward to! Delicious food and nice portion sizes.
This was a great experience, the food was excellent and the service was amazing. This is a restaurant that will not let you down. The drinks were amazing as well.
Fair food, nothing very impressive or fantastic. The atmosphere as well was just moderate. Just not worth all the hype.
My family celebrated what would have been my parents 50th wedding anniversary. The chef and staff accommodated our wishes for a tasting menu. It was amazing! Service was superb. We had the cheese plate and charcuterie board which were both delicious. Our tastings consisted of one appetizer and four entrees. All delicious! The chicken and pork were probably my favorites. We all shared the beignets for dessert. Delicious end to a wonderful evening! I love this restaurant ? Thanks to all the staff who made our honoring a special occasion so perfect.
Cafe DuPont is at the top of my list for Birmingham dining. The evening did not disappoint. The food, as always, was amazing. Took my best friend, who had never dined there, for a special evening, Great experience.
Cafe Dupont was just amazing. We chose it because of the charcuterie board and it was just amazing. The fois gras was scrumptious, cranberry chutney tasted like Christmas, pork belly was crispy amazing and the rest of it was fabulous. We chose stuffed quail and scallops for our entrees. The scallops were excellent but the quail was the amazing hit. The stuffing was amazing. Our waiter was attentive and so pleasant. Then we enjoyed the evening art fair after dinner. Wonderful evening and what a great date spot.
