My wife and I stayed here in July. The hotel was fine, albeit a bit dated. Beautiful old building. We stayed two nights. Quite a few things within walking distance. Free breakfast was good, but kinda chaotic when we were there. The valets were awesome; fast and friendly service from those young guys!
The “Tut” keeps getting better each month with the physical refreshing of rooms, the lobby and grounds. Additionally they now have a great family run restaurant and bar. All welcome additions and add to the ambiance of the Tutwiler. But the most critical part of hospitality is the staff; that part is critical to make the hotel work, and the Tut has it! I came to this location for the Weird Al Concert and I was NOT disappointed. It's an easy (albeit 15 minute) walk to the theater, and easy to find an Uber back in the morning.The breakfast is buffet style, and absolutely exceeded my expectations.And the history of the building, getting to explore the hotel in the silence of the early morning... Definitely will recommend (and return if I can!!)
