In drive thru 10 min. cook walked in front of my car to other side of trash. came back with something in wrapped in foil and miraculously my food was ready. Got home okra was burnt.
Great place, great food, and great service. I grew up in the area and moved away with the military 42 years ago. I started eating there before leaving and Pruett's is the one of the first places we visit when we are visiting the area. We always make plans to go there looking forward to the great cooking. Every place we visit, we always search for a restaurant like Pruett's. We have made it our standard for a good restaurant. If you are looking for great southern home dishes and great BBQ, look no further.
I drove an hour and a half from Chattanooga to try the BBQ here. Well, it was three hours well spent. So good I got a pound to take home!
We stopped here for take out on our way to the campground. Ordered a slab of ribs and steak fries. The ribs were really flavorful but a little chewy, the steak fries were decent. It was nice to get to the campsite and sit down to ribs. No dishes to clean up!
I should have tried the Bar-B-Q but instead got the Turkey & Dressing daily special. It was okay but there was way too much bread and not enough turkey/etc. The beans I ordered were pretty good. Overall it seemed like a good home-style cooking type of place. Prices were good and service was pretty fast.
This restaurant is amazing, definitely recommend coming here especially because the price is so reasonable. Ribs fall off the bone and fried chicken juicier than baked chicken, also the catfish was pleasant. Service was really good despite them being very busy, but that’s always a good sign, right?
Food was good and hot in and out quickly for a Friday night. The catfish was really good. The bbq was ok not my favorite. The Brunswick Stew was not bad as well as the onion rings. If the bbq was better I would have given 5 stars because the service was excellent as well. Recommend this place of ever in Gadsden!!
Although my family and I spent a few days in East Tennessee, we opted to skip the barbecue restaurants there because we knew that the best value and prices were at Pruett's in Gadsden. If this place was closer to home, they would know us by name. There is so much pride in the cleanliness and upkeep of the restaurant, hospitality of the cashiers and waitresses, and presentation of every plate. I also appreciate that they have kept their prices the same for as long as they have, even though I will continue to support them if they determine that prices must be increased to help Pruett's survive. Hats off to everything and everyone here! We cannot wait to see you all again soon! Pruett's is a rare gem in today's world.
We arrived at Pruett's for an early dinner as did a number of other people. Inspite of the full wait staff not yet having come we were promptly seated. After a brief wait our waitress took our order and our food came out in no time. All of our dinner party was very pleased with our meal. I love their hamburger steak with brown gravy and onions. Our waitress was very attentive without being overbearing. All of us had a great meal and a good time at Pruett's.
I often visit the drive in location during lunch. Staff is always nice and the food is prepared as ordered. When I do go to the bigger location I usually opt for the whole catfish which is really good. The macaroni and cheese is not the best but it's okay. The greens were canned seasoned so that's the review on that. The overall experience at Pruetts is good. There's always a crowd so I guess that speaks for itself!!
Pruett's is a Gadsden icon. They are a simple, no frills restaurant serving great food across a diverse menu. You can get almost anything here including catfish, BBQ, meat loaf, fried chicken, whatever. The prices are quite reasonable and you will enjoy their great customer service.
Team Pruett's, keep up the good work on the Brunswick Stew. I know you guys are real busy but just make sure you package your 'carry outs' with a little more fortitude container wise and I'll be back for more. See you Monday for the best fried chicken in town!
They messed up my order not 1,not 2, but 3 times. All I got were some disgusting fries!
The smell was better than the taste. You can tell they don't care for the customers hearing what they have to say especially when asked if they still have a table they say "yea unfortunately" realize they can be heard by said table and say I was just kidding (and she could've been). Then later on during cleaning seem one move food down and spray with another saying "hey you don't see that misting back on the food" which she still processed to serve. They seem friendly enough and it was almost closing on a graduation night so I'm sure they were busy and tired. Still no excuse but would def like to give them another try when in the area. They could've just had an off night.
The BBQ plate had large chunks, the squash casserole had HAM in it (never heard of that and certainly couldn’t eat it) dressing was good. Waitress very good. Most everyone looked pleased with their food. Would recommend depending on what you order.
