The worst food I have ever bought, horrible, super expensive and nothing is as expensive because when a food is delicious it is worth paying but truly this food is terrible, a place not recommended at all.??

I quite enjoyed this place, but just had one issue. The staff were nice but there was only 2 for the entire restaurant, which was quite empty on a Thursday night. You are served a thing of tortilla chips and a spicy salsa.I had a steak with white rice, over easy egg and guacamole. I loved the guacamole, it was seasoned perfectly and creamy. The over easy egg was done perfectly and the white rice was great! The steak could have been really good but I asked for medium and it was well done, so it was tough, the flavors were good though. The paella valanceaga was pretty good! It's not a typical paella but a rice made and then added in meat like shrimp, squid, octopus, green mussels, and sausage. The rice had some spiciness to it that reminded me of a seafood seasoning, overall it was quite delicious! As for the drinks I had the lime frozen margarita and it was delicous!I definitely recommend trying this place out if you want to try some more of the authentic Latino and Peruvian dishes.Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is accessible by wheelchair.

A taste of Peru in The Magic City! My wife & I continued the Birmingham Restaurant Week fun with dinner at Sabor Latino last night. This was our 1st time dining here. Sabor Latino is a family owned eatery located in Homewood specializing in Peruvian & Mexican cuisine. We tried a few other dishes in addition to the Restaurant Week menu. One being the Arroz con Mariscos featuring Peruvian style mixed yellow rice with fresh seafood. This dish is similar to paella, but more flavorful imo with its use of saffron & seafood stock. Absolutely delicious! The Peruvian Tamales were fantastic! They feature chicken & mashed Mote corn served with Arequipan onion, cilantro, lime & tomato. The chicken was super moist & tender. Sabor Latino's Restaurant Week menu offers a choice of 3 courses for $35. We chose Fried Plantains, Lomo Saltado & Passion Fruit Cheesecake. The plantains were yummy. Slightly sweet & caramelized. The Lomo Saltado featured steak cooked with onions & tomatoes served with rice & fries. I loved this dish! The sauce the steak was cooked in was like a delectable savory gravy. Beautiful presentation. I appreciated how the fries are served stacked by hand. The Passion Fruit Cheesecake was sweet & tart. Lusciously enjoyable. We also tried the Picarones served with ice cream which are similar to donuts, but made using squash & sweet potato. I was mind blown when we were told it's made with squash & sweet potato! They reminded me of scrumptious beignets. Sabor Latino offers one of the MOST UNIQUE menus in Bham. This was my 1st time trying Peruvian food, but certainly not my last! Service was extremely attentive, knowledgeable & friendly. The atmosphere is casual, but fun. They offer a full bar. We really enjoyed the Pisco Sour & Passion Fruit Hurricane. I absolutely recommend adding them to your Restaurant Week "must list" (going on now-3/3). I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you for the warm hospitality, Sabor Latino!

Simply Delicious!! Very good service and spectacular food!! I love it, I would eat here every day without hesitation.

Been a while since I've eaten here, but what a shame that they used to have the most beautiful CHUNKY salsa only to now completely puree it, which makes it a horrible ketchup-like experience. The plates are now smaller with smaller portions. I can no longer consider this a 'must-visit' restaurant due to the noticeable quality difference from past visits.

Used to be my favorite place to eat but last few visits the food wasn’t up to their usual standards. Last visit our food was brought out cold and really lacked flavor. We didn’t enjoy it at all. Staff and atmosphere were nice though, just wish the food had been better.

It was our first visit but not our last. Great menu selection. The only Peruvian food in this area. Nice atmosphere with excellent service. Food was delicious and large portions. They get an A+ From me and my two companions.

I arrived with higher expectations, it was not as good as I wanted, I'm not saying it was ugly, just that my expectation was higher.

With so many Mexican restaurants, this one definitely excels. And if you want to experience Peruvian cuisine, this is the place to go. Service is swift, servers are very friendly, and the price is nice.

Savor Latino is an excellent Peruvian restaurant. I highly recommend the fish ceviche (if you like ceviche), the Lomo Saltado (if you like steak), and a Pisco sour to drink (contains alcohol). I will be going back for more ceviche and Pisco sours!

We go here for the spicy burrito. It's the best we've found in Birmingham. The chips and salsa are good and plentiful. It's a large, open dining room with TVs showing sports. I have a coworker from Peru who says the food here reminds him more of home than any other place he's been in Birmingham.

The fajitas were extremely bland. Got my order incorrect. And the portions are very small compared to the price. This was our 2nd time hwre and will probably be last.Parking: The place is located in a shopping plaza. Plenty of parking.
