The good thing about this restaurant is that it is a lot of food for a very good price! Really big portions especially of the fried rice. I will say that the sushi wasn't very good to me (I got the California Roll which usually is good at any place but it just lacked flavor and had too much avocado) and the chicken in the chicken fried rice did not look seasoned and was just thrown on top of the rice. The house miso soup was too salty. The house salad was pretty good. I didn't want to give this place a bad review but after eating, my boyfriend and I did not feel good and had stomach problems. To-go service was pleasant.

Ordered twice so far from here. Both times the food was fantastic, portions were huge, prices were great. I would go as far as to say it's one of, if not the, best Japanese restaurants in this area. The sushi is priced much better than any other one I've been to and is always delicious.

If your idea of a combo fried rice is 3 cups of white rice doused in soy sauce and cup of steamed vegetables and meat on top, this is the place for you. When I think of fried rice, I think of the fried rice I have had in Japan, Thailand, Philippines and a few more countries not a bunch of white rice with the supposed ingredients thrown on top. Now the spice crab salad is good and Sushi is ok.

Today was my first time trying OEC and I loved it! Food was cooked to perfection and sushi was fresh. I will definitely be back!

The food there is always delicious. But the reason I am leaving a review is due to the amazing customer service that I received after leaving my credit card at the restaurant. I’ve visited their restaurant around 1 PM and apparently left my car there without noticing. I received a call From the restaurant around 9 PM saying that I left my card there and that I could pick it up tomorrow when they open. I was extremely appreciative and feel they went above and beyond to track me down. I called my order in before I came to get my food so I’m guessing they looked at the name on my card and found the matching receipt to match the card number and estimated the time I would’ve called my number in and checked their caller ID to find the correct number. I just don’t feel most businesses would have done this and I will definitely continue to support them due to their being good Samaritans.

This place is the best bang for your buck sushi around. We always get the roll tide roll and the ocean roll and they are both fantastic. We also highly recommend the amazing roll. While not on the menu they will do tempura veggies that are great. It became my go-to sushi place in Hoover. Sadly we left the area but my wife and I made a lot of great memories eating OEC together and we certainly miss them.
