I absolutely love this establishment. Everything that I have eaten has been phenomenal. The quality is definitely top notch. I love the Chicken Pesto sandwich; Veggie Grill sandwich; Pineapple, Carrot, and Ginger Smoothie; Broccoli Salad; Sweet Potato Salad; Hummus; and last yet most definitely not least the Mushroom Soup. I drive one way over 50 minutes to enjoy what this restaurant has to offer. Taproot has a wonderful staff, as well. Freda and Destiny have a wonderful sense of community as coworkers that can be felt by the customers. On my recent trip this past Thursday, Cain was working. He was equally just as friendly and hospitable. Customer service has always been top notch. I am so sad that this restaurant is closing.

This is definitely my new favorite staple restaurant! It is clean eating at its finest. Everything I’ve tried here is delicious, filling but not the bad “too full” feeling, it’s the healthy “light full” feeling! I’m addicted to the Kale Salad & I add grilled chicken to it. The goat cheese in it is out of this world so sometimes I request extra! Cannot recommend this restaurant enough!!

My husband and I wen for lunch and had a delicious, fresh salad and yummy sandwich. The staff were super friendly and welcoming.

Wow and super wow! I'm from out of town for a pickleball tournament and this was the perfect place to find some healthy food. I had the salmon toast, mushroom soup, butcha drink made in Alabama, and an off the diet cookie that was really good. The employees were amazing ! Hard to find great quality empl oyees now adays!I WILL be back

The veggies were cooked perfectly, and everything was super flavorful. The food was out quickly, and the workers were extremely kind and welcoming. Could not have wanted a better lunch spot!

I like the chalkboard that specifies the local suppliers. I like the airy, clean interior, and I really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff. The veggi on sourdough was tasty, maybe the mushrooms had a tad too much vinegar, but overall a happy, full-flavored sandwich that I can recommend. The calories of the lunch are balanced with the needs of an office worker but will not sustain a person that does physical labor.Order here refers to a touch screen that lets you pick and choose from the menu, offers additions, and lets you fine tune your order. I like to have a person in front of me that I can ask for clarification or for some register banter.There was quite a wait at the order screen and for the food but I got there a few minutes after noon and probably hit their busiest time.The one star deduction is mostly due to the fact that they don't offer water and you have to buy $1.50 bottled (disposable) water. As a suggestion. I enjoyed the solid wooden board my sandwich was served on but the beauty of the board made the disposable plastic fork stand out like a sore thumb. If you can clean the boards, you can clean a metal fork. :-)

If you're in Hoover looking for a delicious healthy choice, you should go by TapRoot Cafe! It's located next to Starbucks on 150 across from the Grove. It's a cute café that offers farm to table options. Some of the veggies are sourced locally, and you can tell. I ordered the Farmer's Grill with broccoli salad and peanut butter banana smoothie with vegan protein. The smoothie was just what I needed after a workout. The added protein didn't have a weird taste. I could only taste banana and peanut butter. The sandwich was so good. I could have just eaten the mushrooms alone. The vegetables were not over cooked. The bread was toasted but not super dry. The cheese was melted just enough. It was so good. I intended to only eat one half, but I ate the whole sandwich. The broccoli salad was also really good. Hummus, potato salad, and chips were also options for sides. I love broccoli salad so it was a no brainer for me. It did not disappoint. It was really good and tasted fresh.
