Literally sat in the parking lot on yesterday 2/16/2024 @10:59 and waited for the doors to open because my son wanted to try the Nashville hot chicken so bad. We watched and employee see us pull the door @ 11 am and continued their conversation on the phone. So we sat in the parking lot for a couple of minutes just to see if they would open the doors but no. We came to the door again and the employees looked us dead in our face and waited until we got in the car to unlock the doors. By this time it was after 11 am. We chose to spend our money at hooligans with is next door. I only shop where my time and money is appreciated. Tbh we were actually at hooligans @ 10:45 but he wanted Houndstooth so bad we didn't know what time they opened until we walked over from hooligans, so I ran a couple of errands because we saw they didn't open until 11am, only to be treated like this.. never again!

We have been going to Houndstooth for 4 years while our son has been at UofA, it has always been a fun spot. I have never been impressed with the bartenders, usually slow and not too friendly. But last night we had the worst bartender ever. After she held our credit card for 2 rounds she told us she did not have it while we were ordering a 3rd round. I politely asked her to look again and she said, we don't have it, you're not in the system, you have to pay cash if you want these drinks. She was incredibly rude during the entire interaction. After asking for the manager, he of course found our card in about 20 seconds but would not make her apologize to us. if you want to interact with friendly and professional bartenders, do not go to Houndstooth!!

What happened to the old bingo guy? He was so much fun and got the crowd involved. The new guy is so bland and boring. Has zero personality when he is calling numbers. I come for Thursday night football and stay for a few rounds of bingo but this guys just sucks the fun out of everything.

The Houndstooth is a T-town landmark sports bar. We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon during a Crimson Tide football game on TV. It has ample seating indoors and on a large street side patio. We sat at the bar and had excellent service. There are dozens of large screen TV's throughout providing good viewing of the Alabama game. We ordered some adult beverages and some bar food (wings, rings, fries and quesadillas). We were surprised when the food arrived at the bar in cardboard "to go" style boxes. ??? (The bar food comes from a related take-out place next door.). The food was good but the wings were very small (sparrow wings?) and the onion rings were disappointing as rings go - over cooked, breading crumbly and greasy. Alabama won the game clinching yet another SEC-West title. The place erupted in cheers and the bar cranked up Sweet Home Alabama which got everyone singing. Five stars for the ambience and service but three for the food. Hey, it's a sports bar, so I wasn't expecting a super gastronomic experience. Lots of spirit and energy on game day. The Houndstooth rocks. Roll Tide!!

Spacious bar! We did not eat here, but a great place to watch a game and have some bevies! They had a DJ going and while there were plenty of folks...there was still plenty of room as this floor space is quite large at this bar. Service was friendly and the prices reasonable!

Good music and atmosphere. Played pool with parents we met from California. Our UA graduate wanted us to show us her favorite places. This was one of them.
So much tradition... Roll Tides best outdoor patio, and the pink elephant drinks are Mmm good.

It’s a very nice bar to go and play 8 pool on the strip street✨??

This is one of my favorite bars in Tuscaloosa! Their $5 whiskey of the week is an awesome deal. I also love how large it is with a million televisions and 5 or so pool tables. The bartenders are really quick about getting you drinks too unlike some of the other places around.

Came here to pregame before the Iron Bowl. My buddy and I liked the outdoor area and all the other bars were just as crowded but less space. It was super busy, took a bit to get drinks but that was expected for how busy it was going to be. Overall chill atmosphere and great place to pregame the Iron Bowl

This is probably my favorite bar on the strip. They make their drinks well, have pool, and pretty damn good food. If youre new to Tuscaloosa or just visiting, this is the place you should go.
