I called prior to vacationing to the area to make a reservation. I explained that I was hoping to make the dinner extra special as I was going to propose to my girlfriend earlier in that day. They were super accommodating and gave us a special table. Our waiter, Chris, was amazing and made sure to take extra special care of us. He was courteous, prompt, friendly, and found a nice balance of checking on us but giving us some privacy. We had the best duck egg rolls we’d ever had as an app. The then split an 8 oz filet cooked to perfection with a side of fried Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese with crab. They comped our dessert which was a delicious cheesecake. We both live in New Orleans and are accustomed to excellent food but we both agreed it was one of the best meals we’d had in a really long time. Every single bite of food was terrific. Very rarely do you go to a high end steakhouse or fancy restaurant and it delivers completely. That was the case at 501 prime and I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to hot springs!

We were talked into going back by friends who wanted to try it. Huge mistake. I would not even bother with this review had they not neglected to opportunity to address the issues we had with both the food and the service.Parking: The parking lot is scary this time homeless people were begging

Me and the Mrs was on vacation and decided to visited Hot Springs, AR. Our first night we came here and everything was above and beyond. We had Chris as our server for the night and he was spot on with the drinks and food recommendations.
Bone marrow, 17 dollars, I have the money but, your not a Michelin Chef in New York....Have a good day, also, I do appreciate the slow service and incorrect orders...

Nice place. A bit dark inside. Great food. Spicy chocolate is excellent. Very nice and accommodating staff. Great job.Parking: Go behind restaurant and in the back of the lot is street parking.
Kirk was incredible and the food was spectacular. I ordered the Boursin Filet and my daughter had the Mac and Cheese with bacon, and then the Cinnamon Apple for dessert. Phenomenal.
We ate at the Bourbon Bar and the bartender provided great service even though he was super busy. The food was delicious (steak with Boursin cheese and polenta - a specialty of the restaurant). The restaurant has some pretty strict policies (like taking a credit card to make a reservation and only a 10 minute grace period), but we knew that when we reserved and complied. The prices seemed on the high side ($75 for an 8 oz steak) but again, we knew that going in. So, we got the check, put down our credit card and when it was time to sign, we found that there was a 3.5% charge to use our credit or debit card. We were not aware of this extra charge and after all the other rules and the price of dinner, it seemed over the top. We frequently dine at very nice restaurants and have never been charged to use a credit card. Perhaps if we had to give our card to reserve (with a charge if we cancelled) OR if the meal had been more reasonably priced OR they charged a fee for using a card and it had been disclosed before we paid, we would have felt better about the experience.

BEWARE, NOT A STEAKHOUSE! Unfortunately, while I really like this place, my $76 20oz ribeye came out more like 1/4" 8oz, tough, overcooked, and inedible. I sent it back as it was not how I ordered (black and blue) and the chef sent it back to me saying medium was fine and it would take too long to cook another. Insulting at best, fraudulent at worst as it was not as advertised whatsoever. Rest of the meal was good, great presentation and flavors.
