Very very dirty. Needs a good cleaning. I can't believe the health department hasn't already told them.

Went there because it was highly rated on TripAdvisor. I don't understand how. This place is a dumpster looking for a match. Should be shut down and closed permanently. Nothing smoked on the menu at all. Dirty doesn't even describe

Went about 2 weeks ago for the first time. Food was great. Loved the burgers. They were hand pattied. We decided after a week out of state for a funeral and just getting home and not wanting to cook we wld eat again. We called and did a to go order. Husband came home and the burgers weren't pattied real hamb like last time but frozen and made me sick and cldnt eat it. I've never been able to handle frozen patties. I spent over 30 bucks and didn't even get to eat. Called them and no pick up this time so I had to throw it out. Never again

I stopped in to try their tamales and was not disappointed. I got them to go and they were tasty and very reasonably priced. I got a half dozen for 8 bucks and some change. Hard to beat that!

First impression: the sign is missing. And appears to have been for quite some time. You walk in and instantly notice your feet peeling off the floor because of the grease and other residue that have gathered over the decades. Then you look around and realize nothing has been cleaned in… decades, save for the tabletops? The ribs were dry and salty. Burned to a crisp. I didn’t finish my first. The microwaved tamales got more bites than the ribs, but then I couldn’t stop thinking about what the kitchen must’ve looked like and I stopped eating. Now the missing sign makes sense. They’re trying to protect you from eating here.

Order the special. Chopped meat platter. Took us a hour to get our food. Coleslaw was driest I ever had. Potatoe salad some of the best . But really bad heartburn later.

I loved the food, and the staff was great. I just didn't feel like I got what I paid for. Other than that, great place.

Wonderful find!! The pulled pork was juicy and lots of flavor...slaw was on point! Sweet tea was delicious.

TL;DR: THE place to stop for lunch in Newport. Make sure to try the Breakfast Burger. We started the meal with some banana cake (delicious but slightly dryer than I prefer). It was quickly followed by some Hushpuppies that were served with house made ranch. They were easily some of the best Hushpuppies I've had. The ranch paired perfectly with them.Although I split a Smokehouse Burger with my wife, it doesn't come close to the flavor of the other burger we split. I cannot recommend enough that you need to order the Breakfast Burger. Egg, American Cheese, Pepper Jack Cheese, and a perfectly seasoned burger patty come together in this flavorful beast. My daughter had a grilled ham and cheese. What we didn't expect was the quality and amount of ham. Both were above expectations. It was all so good, we decided to order a family pack of their BBQ to go (I'll update this review tonight when I find out how good it is).The menu sported other tempting entree's such as the Cajun Burger, Philly Cheese Steak sandwich and Tamales. I'm looking forward to our next visit, but we aren't in Newport that often. Don't make the mistake of not stopping here if you find yourself in range.Parking: Locals seem to park on the side opposite from the smokehouse at a 45 degree angle (right side of the restaurant). There are some faded yellow lines, but they are seemingly not used.
