Best sushi experience I’ve had in Phoenix. The atmosphere is exceptional, and our waiter made me a non-alcoholic cocktail that was stunning. Truly though, the star was the food. You can tell the staff here care immensely about the food and the service. We loved the coffee salmon nigiri, and the lime butter salmon was exceptional too. A perfect date night spot.

Delicious food and cocktails! One of the better places to get sushi in the Valley. Love the vibe too!

My experience at Across the Pond in Phoenix was marred by a series of unmet expectations, beginning with the discrepancy between the advertised and actual offerings. Prior to my visit, I consulted OpenTable for menu options and pricing, which presented an appealing and reasonably priced dining experience. However, upon arrival, I was surprised to find that not only were the menu options limited compared to what was advertised, but the prices were also substantially higher. This discrepancy was particularly frustrating as it significantly influenced my decision to dine there. Had I known about the actual prices and menu limitations, I would have likely considered other dining establishments. The element of surprise in dining should be reserved for delightful culinary discoveries, not unexpected costs and restricted choices. The culinary experience further compounded my disappointment. Some of the sushi was so bland it lacked any distinct flavor, failing to deliver the quality expected at such price points. Additionally, certain dishes were overwhelmed by seasonings, masking the delicate flavors of the fish rather than enhancing them. The art of sushi lies in its balance and subtlety, both of which were unfortunately absent from my meal. While the ambiance of Across the Pond and the service provided were satisfactory, these could not offset the overall dissatisfaction with the culinary experience and the initial misrepresentation of menu offerings and pricing. I share this feedback with the hope that Across the Pond will address discrepancies and improve the clarity of their menu offerings and pricing on platforms like OpenTable. It's essential for diners to make informed decisions based on accurate information. Furthermore, attention to the balance of flavors and the quality of ingredients is crucial for a sushi restaurant aspiring to justify premium pricing. I believe in the potential for improvement and hope that future guests will have a better experience.

I hate myself for not trying Across The Pond sooner! It’s by far one of the best sushi spots in town! It puts Nobu and Harumi to shame. So far everything thing we’ve tried has been amazingly delicious!! The ceviche is to die for. The Toro hand roll melts in your mouth. The Slappin Salmon is out of this world!!! We are definitely regulars now!!! Everyone is so helpful and friendly!!

We've now done ATP a dozen times and it never disappoints. This place does fill up so I recommend sneaking in either early or for late night. We like to get a drink and an app before dinner at Clever Koi. It doesn't matter what you order- it's going to be solid. The drinks continue to be some of the best in AZ. I like to simply ask the waiter to make me something he's been enjoying and I end up learning something new.

I enjoyed the unique fish options. All very fresh and great quality. Very fancy garnishes and sauces but the main focus of each dish is the taste of the fish! Very difficult to achieve and they nail it!

The fish was fantastic and so was the service. The cocktails we had were also very tasty. It is an intimate setting that we loved.

After traveling to Japan, I became a huge sushi snob. I can’t tolerate the cold rice covered sushi rolls any more. That being said, this is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in Phoenix. I have been 5-6 times, usually with family and friends. Would be an awesome date spot! They have premium sushi options, like Otoro (fatty tuna belly), and the sushi comes out freshly prepared (not cold). If you know you know. That being said, I find the service sometimes lacking. Just last week, I went with three friends and the service was certainly sub par. Our waiter forgot several orders and let my beer run dry (tragedy!) … but my friends were all impressed with the food! Despite mediocre service, I will still keep coming! One thing I would like to see them improve on is having new specials regularly… like what was fresh in the market today and what can you make that is fun and inspiring? I would also like to see those yummy Japanese sake shooters with oysters and/or quail eggs here as those are my favorite but they are hard to find.Vegetarian options: Sushi! Not much meat available on the menu (if any)Parking: Huge free parking lot just behind the store that always has something available.

Super excited to try this restaurant. One of the waiters did an awesome job explaining the menu. We put in drinks and food but then when it came time for our next course and more drinks no one would come to our table. We started to laugh at how ridiculous the lack of attention was. Food and drinks took a long time to come out and we decided to just call it. Left hungry. Specialty items were our favorite, the sampler and the yellowtail. The rolls weren't as good. And we never got further than that.
