A VERY LONG STANDING ESTABLISHMENT, I BELIEVE IT WAS A HOUSE THAT WAS CONVERTED INTO A RESTAURANT. THE SELECTIONS ARE HUGE AND DELICIOUS, THEIR CLAIM TO FAME IS " SOUTHERN FRIED CHICKEN"

I ordered catfish with greens and macaroni and cheese. The greens were legit and the macaroni and cheese was good too! The catfish came out piping hot so that was nice (taste good too). I also ordered some peach cobbler which did not disappoint. I was hoping to try the red velvet but they didn't have any. I'm glad I finally made it here because I've been wanting to try this place for a minute now. The only negative thing I have to say is that they seriously need to upgrade their upholstery.

The price for the meal is outrageous. $23 for a small smothered pork chop and 2, 1/2 - 2/3 cup size sides. I eat out 75% of my meals. The price should be $14-$16 only because it’s an iconic Phoenix restaurant. Or keep it $23 but double the amount of everything. I had to eat another lunch 3 hours later. I’ve been coming to Mrs Whites since 1991. My last visit was in Oct of 2023 and the prices were $18 ish for the same meal. Food taste was great as usual (pc and cabbage and green beans and potatoes). Service was also great but it was only 1/4 filled at noon. Please don’t go out of business because of over pricing. Perhaps keep reading these reviews.

Good food with a home style that makes you feel right at home. If you’re from the south and missing that southern bell flavor. This is your spot! “FOOD SO GOOD MAKE YOU WANNA SLAP YA MOMMA!!!”

THE BEST SOUTHERN FRIED CHICKEN AND SMOTHERED PORK CHOPS IN AZ!!! I've been going to Mrs White's since I was twelve years old and now at 28 anytime I go I feel like im going to my auntie's house for dinner. Real deal southern comfort hospitality, no frills bs or gimmicks. Everything off the menu is delicious and you are guaranteed to nap after a plate. In addition to fresh food, they offer amazing deserts and real deal Kool aid and iced tea. If you dont know, this is the original fried chicken spot that then birthed the famous Lo-Lo's chicken & waffles, as a separate fried chicken established ran by other members in the family. If you are lucky to get a table when its not busy, order everything they have and you will not be disappointed!

I must say I was deeply disappointed with the food. I heard so many good reviews from folks and I'm not being funny they don't know good cooking or food from my experience. Catfish was OK as well as fried chicken but them sides were trash and i swear the cornbread was from the day before reheated and served. Customer service was great and Jamal was very nice. I've been bamboozled.

I had read that this restaurant served the best fried chicken in all of Arizona so we were anxious to try it. And the first surprise was that the only drinks served our water, lemonade, iced tea, and Kool-Aid. And the menu is quite simple. All of the entrées are $23 and come with two sides. All of the sandwiches are $13 and come with two sides. I had the chicken fried steak with mac & cheese and green beans. The gravy was delicious and the breading was tasty but the.”steak” was quite tough. The green beans were fine if not a little mushy. The mac & cheese, while a generous portion, was dry and had very little cheese on it. My husband got the fried chicken meal. He received two wings, a leg and a piece that was an identifiable. We were surprised that he would get two wings and a leg for $23. My husband did say that the chicken was good. The glass of lemonade was four dollars. Once our meals were delivered, nobody ever came to see if we needed anything or how our food was. We left feeling pretty disappointed.

I was a little nervous at first when we got there. Due to the appearance of the building. But once we got inside, the vibe was totally totally cool. The food was amazing. The service was even greater, so we really enjoyed our experience.

Four of us came for an early dinner. Tea and cornbread for starters. The fried chicken had a nice crispy batter and the meat was juicy! The smothered chicken was smothered in flavorful gravy and was juicy too. The chicken fried steak was excellent. As we were eating we each would make humming noises.. and the sides... Mac and cheese.. full of flavorful cheese, green beans with onions and potato's, red beans (sweet and spice) over rice were phenomenal, potato salad was great too. Save room for the dessert of the day. The day we were there... peach cobbler and a crumble cake.. service was very kind and had great suggestions. EST. 1964... by MrsWhite...
