Staff was incredibly family and made us feel like we were at home. Food was delicious so we will definitely be coming back! The shrimp po boy was filling and the jambalaya was tasty!

Oh my goodness. The moment I was greeted with such loving "Southern Hospitality" when I walked in the door by Ms. Jasmine, I knew that though this was my 1st time dining in this establishment, it would be far from my last. It is a rarity in itself to find somewhere offering authentic Louisiana cuisine on their menus much less specializing in it. I took the opportunity to order some fried pickles and jambalaya. Asia & Britney prepared a mouth watering dish of jambalaya. Just the right level of spiciness for my liking. Enough to give it a fabulous kick, but not so spicy that one is not able to enjoy and appreciate the underlying flavors in the food. This was perfection as far as I was concerned. The pickles were also super yummy. I loved the flavor, but just as important is that they were still nice and crispy ... not soggy due to the oil used in frying them. Marvelously done. Additionally, the atmosphere is SO MUCH FUN! I took my seat "by the bayou." They have an entire wall mural which allowed me to take a trip back in time to my early 20s when I sat there and enjoyed this cuisine on the water. They have mardi gra masks on the walls, LSU signs, and other "flare" including, but not limited to an alligator picture, s, & historic photos. Though I was dining alone, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here from start to finish. A wonderful place to visit, dine, and just hang for a bit & relax. Thank you Jasmine for your kindness! I'll be back.

the food is amazing. we are from louisiana and haven't found fried fish and hush puppies that are comparable in the valley - except for this place. we drive from Gilbert for it regularly. The only negative about the food is that they frequently run out of hush puppy batter. it's happened several times recently so you'd think they would adjust how much they make on Saturdays. the other negative is that the cook (who is awesome at the frier) is rude. when I asked about the hush puppies she was aggressive about it being first come first serve and she couldn't help it etc. it was 5pm. not late so I'm not sure what she meant by "come earlier if you want them. not my problem that we out". I had very politely said that it was the 3rd time in a row they were out. That must have been the wrong thing to say bc it completely set her off and she was unnecessarily rude and combative. so food = great. Go & enjoy! service is hit or miss - stay away from interacting w the mean short haired cook lady at all costs.

The food was off the chain!!!! Delicious. This restaurant is a hidden gem, very authentic New Orleans creole restaurant. I had the drunken Catfish. Tones of food and tons of flavor. Don't sleep on this restaurant on the corner of Kyrene and Elliott in Tempe.

Everything I had was very good. Fried green tomatoes was crispy. Loved the drunken catfish! OMG! I will be getting this everytime. I was looking forward to tasting the gator but they didn't not have at the time. Maybe next time. I'm not a fan of hush puppies but these were soo good and the sauces were just as good. I definitely will be back!

Brief review: it was okay, but not okay enough for us to go back. Longer version: Stopped in a couple Saturdays ago, around 4:30. There was a "please wait to be seated" sign which was funny because in that large space there was only one other customer. There were three employees in the back, talk. We were seated quickly. I enjoyed the decorations but the temp inside made me wonder if their a/c was broken. The first red flag was when we ordered sweet tea & they delivered us unsweet tea with sugar packets. Huh? Why have sweet tea and unsweet tea on the menu if you're only going to deliver unsweet tea? Having sweet tea on the menu indicates it is already sweet, not a do-it-yourself deal. The second red flag was the appetizers. We got a dirty plate, the fried green tomatoes were paper thin (there was more crust than tomato), and the hushpuppies were completely bland. Even adding butter was no help. My sister enjoyed her sausasage po-boy and cajun fries, although the fries were no longer warm. I had seen our food sitting up at their counter and it sat there for some time. I ordered the red bean bowl. Unfortunately, it too was bland. The spicy sausage was barely there and not enough to help with the flavor. I also am certain the beans should not have what looks like a dry outer "growth" to them. To be fair, no, I have never lived in Louisiana. Maybe the food is how it's supposed to be, but when I think about the meals we had at Baby Kay's, there is absolutely no comparison. If I want cajun food again, Flavors of LA is out. Baby Kay's is in.

First time to visit. Great food and excellent hospitality. Would recommend, especially to those who are first timers.

This place would get 5 stars if they communicated better or were faster. We waited forever just for our water. Over an hour for the food to arrive and there was no communication. When the food arrived, however, it was worth it! If you don’t have to be anywhere for a while and have time, I’d recommend them. The people were friendly. They need to have music and more lighting though. That would add to the vibe. I got the Etouffee with shrimp and it was SO GOOD!!

Ok this is a two part review. My wife and I were really, really wanting to eat some good, authentic Cajun food.We got there at about 6:05pm Saturday evening. We asked for some water. We were kind of looking around, the place was pretty deserted, it was my wife, me and three other couples in an about 950 sq ft place. There was no ambiance, no music, no lighting, just a big room, quiet, awkward.I thought it was odd. Our server, a young lady, was very nice, very soft spoken. I noticed it was just her and the cook working that day. On a Saturday night? I started to get concerned. The water came at about 25 minutes later. I started to think this was a huge mistake. We ordered our meal, my wife ordered and Étouffée and I ordered the Jolie Blon, both of us with a salad. We asked our waitress to please bring our salads first. Our salads came at around the 30 minute mark. We were starving, still smiling and hoping at least our food is good.Salad was fine, it was a salad you would get anywhere else.No one ever came in after us. They were not busy. It was still us and three other couples. At around 45 minutes after ordering, we got our food. After 7pm I noticed that the lighting changed and the music started to play, maybe is in a timer???I was really really hoping the wait was worthwhile. And it was!!!!My meal the Jolie Blon, was SOOOO delicious!!! Every bite had an immense amount of flavor! I closed my eyes to be able to take it all in. It was so delightful!!!My wife’s étouffée was also great! It tasted so good and authentic. The cook was ON POINT! He knows what’s he’s doing! So I’m telling you, if you want authentic delicious Cajun food? COME HERE!!!BUUUUT!!!!If you’re starving and cannot wait for your meal? You will have a bad time waiting. So come here knowing that you will wait for a very long time, but you will get amazing and delicious Cajun food.If I could review the food alone? I would give it the highest amount of stars I could. But because it’s a combined review I can only give it 4, but I would rate 5 star for food, 2 star for everything else.

Won't be back. Came at 4:45pm and told we had to wait 15 minutes for them to get gloves. Ordered strawberry lemonade. Terrible. Waitress. Terrible. Messed up literally everyone's order. Left food on the serving counter 10 minutes then brought one dish at a time. Cajun chips too salty - inedible. Left off my husbands onion rings and still did not bring them after being told twice. Ended up with red beans and rice to go. Really terrible experience. Had been to the Chandler location several times and really loved it. Will never come back.

They had 1 cook and wouldn't serve us. Looks like they will be going out of business soon the way it looked. Such a bummer because we love the food here.

Muddy Water? I think so! So, what do you call it? A Muddy Water, Arnold Palmer (who tf is that?! Lol), or something else? I was raised by my southern grandparents, so we call it a Muddy Water. But, when I ask for that over here, ppl don't know what I'm asking for LOL But, what is a Muddy Water? 1/2 lemonade 1/2 iced tea! I tried to do some research for y'all, but I really couldn't find anything about the history of way it was called that... Whomp. But, this was my second time trying this place, but at a different location. I first went to the location In Avondale, and this location is much more... fancier... lol but most importantly, the food was just as delicious! I'm giving it a 4-star instead of 5-star because I was FINALLY able to try the Fried Green Tomatoes, because they were out last time, and I was gravely disappointed. When she brought them out, I looked dazed & confused, because I was like wtf is this? They looked like Fried Pickles, but thinner... I've need seen Fried Green Tomatoes so thinly sliced like that before in my life. How it was sliced, was like how'd you slice the veggies if you were making Ratatouille, which was so weird to me. If you've ever seen the movie Fried Green Tomatoes with Kathy Bates, then you'd know understand what I was talking about. And they came out with like Dijon Mustard, which was weird too... It was all just very off putting to me, and I didn't want to eat them. On top of that, my friend had never had Fried Green Tomatoes before and he was liking at me like wtf lol I had to promise him that they weren't supposed to be done like that. So, they had me looking crazy lmfao so the Fried Green Tomatoes was a definite NO for me. Aside from that, my Dunkin Catfish was amazeballs!!! And my friend really enjoyed his Chicken Po' Boy! I'll definitely go back to dine-in, but they gotta do something about them Fried Green Tomatoes!

Yeah, no. Honestly, just make your own if you know how. Because, IF you do, you'll probably find this a waste of money. $17 for basically 2.75 pieces of catfish (supposed to be 4) w/no hot sauce and little flavor. Basically paid for a bunch of fries. Glad I tried though, but I'll pass

They were rude and was OUT of many sides . I Definitely can spend my money elsewhere , I will not do that again EVER!! I always try to support small businesses but this will not work for me .

The atmosphere is very southern. Great hospitality, clean tables, I LOVE THE HOTSAUCE SELECTION, and the food was great! We shared some fried green tomatoes & fried pickles. I had a catfish po boy with hush puppies & my husband had their jumbalaya with shrimp. He also ordered some cheese fries on the side. I would give my food [po'boy & puppies] a 4 out of 5. My food was delicious and Hot, but the hush puppies needed some work. They were just a little too breadlike and needed more flavor. My husband gave his meal [jumbalaya, shrimp & cheese fries] a 4.5 out of 5 because he did need to add some tony chasier to his meal and hot sauce. Also the cheese on his cheese fries was not fully melted. Though very tasty with out the melty pull. I would definitely go back again. I do recommend this spot if you are looking for some cajun flair. The people are nice and it's always good to support a local business. Enjoy your plate y'all!
