In my previous review, I gave Golden House a very low score, but that was from many years ago when they had different management. These days, this restaurant actually stays true to their claim regarding "healthy Chinese food." They are probably one of the few Chinese restaurants in town that allows substitution to brown rice (whole grain) instead of white rice, even for fried rice. The major drawback to this is that they're slightly more expensive compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area, (I've not had a bill less than $50 for 2 people.) However, all the staff are really nice and with their menu, they really have something for everyone. One of the favorites is definitely the walnut shrimp, only here at Golden House that I've it with pineapples! The house fried rice substituted with brown rice is filling and yummy. They also have good vegan and vegetarian options. I'm glad things have changed, and I'm happy to update my review. Golden House is one of the better Chinese restaurants in the Eastside of Tucson.

Nice food and people - more pricey than some places I think but overall it's good. I would recommend but more for take out - place is small and service is kind of okay - some days it's very nice and some they can careless.

Omg! The best in Tucson! Very accommodating with special requests. Great customer service. The food is so good, super fresh veggies, perfectly shrimp, chicken and beef. Love the vegan options! Loyal customer!

Came tonight with my 3 year old daughter, and have to say we had a great time! The food was great and not too salty or oily which can definitely happen eating out. The service was attentive even though they were very busy! The ambiance felt like small family business which I enjoy a lot. I can't wait to bring my daughter back again as a tradition! Thanks for a great meal!!!

Ordered 4 entrees and two sides for new years dinner with my boyfriend and his roommate. They got half the order wrong, not only that, but one of the mistakes entrees has shrimp in it and our roommate is allergic to seafood, so he got less than the rest of us.

I'm celiac and they were careful to make sure all things at our table were gluten free. The service was amazing. Loved the quaint feel inside too. If we lived in Tucson we would eat here all of the time. Luckily we are only 2 hours away and it was so delicious we could easily make a day trip or weekend trip to enjoy it. Yes, that's how great it was! We ordered the orange chicken, Mongolian chicken, and shrimp fried rice.

This place used to be a reliable and terrific tasting meal before Covid and new management and obviously new cooks. Today's lunch was so un tasty that we left most of it on plates , and we stopped at Burger King afterward. We each disliked the soups and main courses ( beef dishes) we got brought to us ordered in lunch menu, and probably won't return there again until better cooks change it.
This restaurant is pretty small, it has a cozy feel to it. I ordered the lunch special and got hot and sour soup, someone else with me got egg drop soup. The consistency is almost gelatinous. The flavor of the hot and sour was pretty good, the perfect spice level for someone has a sensitive stomach. The service was alright the waitress was nice but could have been more attentive. The vegetarian beef with broccoli was not as flavorful as I was expecting but it wasn't bad at all. However, the vegetarian chicken with bean sauce was very flavorful. The vegetables in that dish were mostly peppers though. I think it's worth trying if you're vegetarian looking for more places to try.

This was not our first time ordering from Golden House. The food is consistently excellent, not skimpy with ingredients or size of entrees. This pick up order for our group included crab puffs, chicken egg rolls, shrimp egg foo yung, mongolian beef, beef teriyaki and orange chicken. All loved the meal, shared entrees, and we have enough for another meal with substantial leftovers. Cost is reasonable for quality. This was a pick up order, but in previous dine in visits, servers were attentive and competent.

This place was hopping when I went in, dine in and takeout. Service was very friendly. I did take out and must've just ordered the wrong thing. I ordered mushu pork and hot and sour soup. The soup was good, a bit too spicy for me. The mushu pork was just bland, which was so disappointing because given how busy they were I had high hopes!

I was just driving around looking for a chinese place to eat and found this gem on maps, came in to try it out with 2 others, and we all were very satisfied with everything. We ordered the lunch specials, chicken lo mein with fried rice and crab puffs, tasted excellent. Will definitely be coming back, cozy little restaurant with very nice staff. The price for 3 of us to eat was about 45 dollars, which isn't bad at all. Also, they have healthy options if you are vegetarian or want the food cooked without oil.
