We were so excited to eat here only to get to the window and told they had bbq pork sandwiches. The lady at the coffee shop shop says sCD only come every other week. It clearly said it was open today so have a back up plan. Disappointed. Cannot rate.
Great food, nice service! We ate the vegan fried chickex sandwich and the vegetarian Tucson hot dog!! Someone walked by with a chick fil a bag and I felt bad he didn’t know to go to this diner. I highly recommend both items!!
Vegetarian options: Tons of veggie and vegan options. (This whole truck is vegetarian/vegan
Parking: Parking lot by food truck with a couple spots. Tons of street parking.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes. The food truck is close to a handicap parking spot at brewery. Also close to the sidewalk ramp. There is outdoor dining on the sidewalk you can roll to.

Vegan food served from a vintage travel trailer. Sinfully delicious! Burgers were better than beef with crispy thin patties that stick out the edge of the bun. Loaded with fresh toppings. I will be craving this place!
Vegetarian options: Menu all vegan.

Excellent food. The Caesar salad dressing was so good and the Barby roast peace sandwich was my favorite. I cook a lot and tend to focus on ethnic food more when eating out but I really enjoyed that the food I ordered was creative and created from scratch. It was refreshing to see blueberry as the rotating ice cream flavor. I enjoyed the atmosphere too.

We were very excited to try the vegan offerings. We are always in search of vegan restaurants. Upon arrival we were not greeted at all. As we were reviewing the menu the cook said “ can I just give him his order” as there was a gentleman standing behind us and we didn’t realize. I said “ yes of course “ and we stepped to the side. We placed our order, he asked if I could provide a Phone number to text when our food was ready. I said “of course” and provided the number. We stood in the lot and waited for the text advising our food was ready. We were standing there talking and didn’t notice the first text so there was a second text. The food did come out fairly quick. We went the window he opened the screen and handed the food out. Me and my wife both said thank you. We received no response back and he just shut the screen and walked away. First I thought that it was weird and unprofessional that he didn’t acknowledge us or thank us at all during our visit. We did leave a 20% tip. Not that, that should’ve garnered anything special. But a nice greeting and a thank you goes a long way when you’re in the customer service business.
Now for the actual food review. The cheezesteak was very good. There was abundance of fried pickles and they were good. The fried pickles were probably our favorite part of the meal. The roast peace sandwich was dry and could’ve used some more sauce. The fries were good but, there could’ve been a few more.
We gave a 2 star because the food was pretty decent. However the service was poor and we felt he was very rude. There’s so many vegan options in Tucson (see my other reviews) I’m not sure we will be giving substance diner another try.

Food was really good, hot and fresh but expensive for what you get. Had it delivered, so cannot comment on service, or atmosphere. Condiments didn't come with order and had to be bought separately. Ranch was $2/piece!

Not only was this the best vegan food I’ve had in years, it’s some of the best food I’ve had period. Get the Fricken Nuggies and the Roast Peace sandwich. 10/10!

First time trying Substance. I ordered the Barby's Roast Peace and my partner ordered the Substance Burger. We both added a small French fry to our meals. Food was sensational and the portions were large. You don't have to be vegan to enjoy this food.

Substance has great sandwiches, we really love the Philly style mushroom cheese steak sandwich, and the spicy chick'n. Their Sonoran dog is hands down the best in town with all the best add-ons. They also have desserts and drinks. Use the Food Truck app for pickup, or delivery through DoorDash.

Absolutely to die for! The sandwiches were amazing. I had the Philly cheesesteak- and yes- all vegan! But please know- this food will excite anyone’s plate- you don’t have to be vegan to enjoy these flavorful sandwiches!

This is the best food. She kept saying oh my god with every bite she took. I am afraid that she may have found something she loved more than me.

This is one of my favorite places for vegan food. It’s a vegan food truck with sandwiches, burgers and shakes, and it’s located outside a cool brewery so you can have a beer and eat the food wherever. Two really cool businesses, I would highly recommend trying.

Had the kale Caesar salad with grilled seitan and the hot dog. The salad was good, especially the sauce. The fried croutons on the salad however were very fatty which was sad. The hot dog was also good and she even gave us fries for free! Would come back!
