It's kinda been going down hill the past two years with a new owner. Smaller portions, less accurately made food. The staff are really nice and the food overall still tastes pretty damn good but the execution isn't as well as it used to be. The service is still amazing.
Came here for a quick drink over the weekend and sat on the patio as it was unseasonably warm and sunny out. What a nice spot - the server she was super-friendly and very good at her job, the beer was cold and tasty - wish we were able to spend more time at Fluid. We will definitely be back next time we're in Courtenay!
Great restaurant. We knew by the Wednesday night full parking lot at 9pm that it must be good- and no let downs. Great service, food was delicious, short but good wine list. I had the clam chowder as my side, but it was really the star or the meal. Hubby had Jambalaya and loved it.
Great restaurant with a lovely patio. The food was enjoyable - we had the jambalaya, steak salad, and chicken nachos. Service was also good. Greatly appreciated that right on the sign it says children are welcome - best restaurant high chairs we have come across complete with tray and working straps. Our children were treated well. Also has an accessible washroom with change table.
The food was SO good! And the vibes were so lovely here :) staff was awesome and Alex was our server & she was so energetic & charismatic!! Loved this spot
Food was excellent and the price was great. Our server was very attentive and quick. Really enjoyed our meal.
We have been here many times and food and service has been great !! This time in particular our server Ally not only made the best ceasar ever but service was spot on !! Thank you from Kat and Trench
Very nice staff, the menu was broad and made kids and grown ups happy. $9 kids menu included all the regulars, mac’cheese, burger, fish, chicken, grilled cheese, even stir fry, all come with a drink and fries/soup or veg. The grown ups get well taken care of too. I had the Asian chicken salad and it was lovely - lots of chicken, nice and peanutty. My son demolished the beef dip… he may not eat for some time to come. Good spot.
This is one of the local favourites for a hearty meal with great ambience and family friendly. They have a nice bar and dining area. You will love this all day menu with a nice variety of appetizers, lettuce wraps, tacos, burgers, some featured items such as AAA flat iron steak sandwich, fish and chips and beef dip. I was super hungry after a long day at a client's office. Deciding between the grill or the pizza/pastas/bowls section, I went for the Jambalaya bowl with mild spiciness. The ingredients were plenty and fresh. It satisfied both my palate and stomach! I think the flavour could be more dimensional though. It was mainly spicy and savoury. - Jambalaya bowl: packed with prawns, chicken, chorizo sausage, 3-colour bell peppers, rice, spicy creole sauce and grilled focaccia. Their house made habanero hot sauce was hot. Mild was actually like medium for some people. Order with caution! As we always say, "A meal without dessert is not complete." So I chose this not-always-the-same-flavour cheesecake. It was frangelico coffee that evening. It was so good! Maybe better than the main course! - Frangelico coffee cheesecake: the frangelico liquor with subtle coffee flavour in this creamy and rich cheesecake. Yum yum! Texture wise is like a New York cheesecake. The fresh whipped cream, raspberry and strawberry really complimented the dessert. I would come and try other dishes if I'm in town again.
I am not impressed went there at around 7 pm on a Saturday night with 3 others and got food. First the food that I got did not taste right, I've had that exact dish before but something about it this time was off. I'm also celiac so eating at any restaurant scares me though I decided to take a chance. Well fast forward to when I got home, I puked and felt sick all night and all day Sunday I was I'll and could not leave the washroom. Idk if it was food poisoning or gluten but either way I am not impressed. Will not reccomed to any one and definitely will not go back.
Our server was also the bar tender that night, he was so attentive that he had a drink ready as soon as we put our empty glass down, our table was serviced as if we were the only ones in the restaurant, he was awesome. The food was ok...Sadly my party all said the salad didn't taste like it had been washed. My beef dip was dry and somewhat tasteless, I have had good food there before so I was definitely disappointed this time. Hopefully better next time.
Went there as it was recommended for Gluten free choices for my daughter with Celiac disease. Did not disappoint, she enjoyed her meal, worry free. My granddaughter got her favourite meal from kids menu. My sister and loved our meals, although it was hard to choose from the menu. Server was excellent. The meal and drinks came in just the right amount of time. Definitely will come back when I’m in town again.
Tonight we did takeout from Fluid. I usually get the BBQ chicken wrap and fries. (They have the best fries). Tonight I got the Thai Chicken Salad. It was delicious. Lots of fresh veggies, perfect tasting dressing and great balance of noodles too. I don't think I have ever loved a salad out anywhere as much as this. Side note when they packed the order my warm chicken was separate from my veggies so I still had a nice crisp salad.
The food and atmosphere here is lovely. In town on vacation and our server took very good care of us and was right in her recommendation of how good the sea food chowder is. As someone with little experience with fish, can confirm, delicious. Thank you for a great dinner after a long day of adventuring.
Ended up here unexpectedly after an error at another restaurant. So glad for that error.... the food and service here were great! We will definitely be back!
