Stopped in after a hike and had refreshments but I imagine this place rocks at night. Basic Pub menu, craft brews and snacks. Great deck for visiting.

This oasis in the wilds of northern Vancouver Island knows its customer base and provides well for their patrons. We visited part way through a week long trip to San Jo, and it was a most welcome treat. I ordered the Holberger (Holburger?) and it was one of the best sandwiches I've had. I was also very impressed with the special, which my wife ordered (a southwest nacho inspired burger). The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. If you're making the trek to the park, a stop here is a must for the whole experience. They even offer packed lunches for passers by on their way to the beach, which I thought was a thoughtful touch.10/10, a must visit, if you're in the area.

If you're an adventure motorcyclist, this is kind of a must-stop. The pub is owned by 12 ADV riders, it's really a hell of a long ways to go to enjoy this, and....it was worth it. (Holberg itself....not so much, lol!) Honestly, it's a very remote pub, supported by the Western Forest Products logging hub that is the "town", and hopefully the adv community will just continue to grow and develop the North Island 1000 route! The adventure huts are basic, but they are a pleasant change from tenting it everywhere else. The pub is a novelty...in the middle of nowhere, and we had a blast there. We were genuinely amazed that we had tasty food in less than 2 mins....100% truthful (that it was that fast, and that it was tasty!). Lots of beverages, and a good selection of standard, pub fare. Staff were friendly, food was hot and good, adventure huts had comfortable foamies/mattresses, and it was a great stop all around. I had heard about the Ibis a few years ago, had been wanting to make the haul out there, and I honestly was stoked to make it there and be part of the experience. Hats off to the 12 dudes that made this happen!!

This spot is a little gem in the “middle of nowhere “. The food was great; burger, fish and chips and wings. The beer was cold and the staff were so friendly! The view off the patio is so picturesque!

A very quaint restaurant and pub in the middle of nowhere. We had the chance to eat here while coming back from San Josef bay through a very long bumpy drive. They have a nice and precise menu, easy to decide. We ordered some fries and Tossed salad with Chicken breast. They tasted pretty good and their service was very quick. Thank you for your existence and great service.

We had a blast at the Ibis. Our server Dale and the rest of the staff and owners were amazing! We stayed in the Adventure huts on an extended bike tour and it was exactly what we needed. A taste of comfort, good hot food and friendly staff. Definitely check it out if you’re in the

Spent a weekend in Holberg and Cape Scott, including a Fri afternoon on the deck w their Scarlet house ale, very nice. It was great that Theresa had time for a chat and we shared some stories about Holberg history. (Holberg.ca)Came back next evening for a Beyond Burger meal, cooked and served w a smile, and very hot fries, delicious!I am not a fan of a dinner on a paper plate, but do understand the challenges a remote restaurant may have to deal with.Recommend a meal and a drink here for sure ? ?And the cabins look nice, I had a peek inside. Thanks so much!Update one year later, Sept 2023: stayed at one of the Adventure huts.Clean, and surprisingly comfy bed, having a small fridge and camp chairs available is nice.Washroom and shower facilities were clean and convenient. Very peaceful area.Would come back in a heartbeat. Thanks team!

Very cool spot on the water. Super friendly and welcoming spot. Perfect stopping point on your way to or from Cape Scott Provincial Park. Breaks up the bumpy ride on the logging roads for a drink and nice bite!

The scarlet ibis hosted my wedding reception! Their accommodation, care, and communication was above what we could have expected. The staff were amazing. I could not recommend them more for a stop by, an overnight stay, or even a special occasion! Thanks again to the Ibis team!

Stayed here as a basecamp to explore the area. Perfect spot for that. Or if camping and you want a break with warm showers and running water. Bed is comfortable and the views of the water are great. Loved having the pub to come back to at the end of an adventure. Everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is very fun! Will definitely stay again.

I heard about this place through a few YouTube videos and thought it would be a great place to stay while visiting Cape Scott.I rode my motorcycle there and unfortunately, was unable to restart it. The owners of this pub (also adventure bike riders) could not have been more sympathetic and helpful in my time of need. I owe them not only this review, but a massive debt of gratitude, as they were very instrumental in my safe return home on the Mainland , with my bike. The pub itself is obviously remote, but with the level of service and quality of food, you'd never know it. The food is fresh, delicious, well presented and served expeditiously. I really don't know what more you could ask for, especially given the location you're in. The wait staff are kind, courteous and helpful. In a day and age where it's tough to find good help, the owners struck gold with the people working for them. The adventure huts suited my needs perfectly. They're newly built and very clean. Bring your own bedding. It's not a hotel. It's heated shelter with a bed, fridge and light. It's a great alternative to camping, particularly if rain is in the forecast. Remember where you are. It rains. A lot. The shower is at the pub and is available 24 hrs, along with the washrooms.Unless you have unrealistic expectations, you're sure to be very satisfied with your visit. I plan on returning again, hopefully under more favourable circumstances.
