Went for lunch just before noon, and the Food tasted great. All the beer on tap was warm, but the one I ordered was still served to me. Calamari/squid was mostly stir fry veggies.

The Bao's were quite disappointing for a place called Bao Down. The flavors were very lacking and is simply not good enough to draw anyone back for more. The Adobo Brussel Sprouts, however, were very good. If they find a way to make their Bao's (which is their namesake) as good as their Brussel sprouts, they could be good.

It was really tasty and they had some pretty good happy hour specials. Our server was really good and attentive. Will definitely go back.Vegetarian options: They had several vegetarian or vegan options.Dietary restrictions: I enjoyed the yellow curry (vegetarian) which was gluten-free due to my being celiac. There were a couple of other dishes I also could have tried

Food is super bland with no flavor. Creative dishes but executed poorly. Price point is quite high for the small portion you get. Service was good though. Owner seems unhygienic and smells

The atmosphere and the dining room looks very nice. There are a lot of options for both Asian inspired alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Menu has unique Asian fusion experience with Filipino inspired dishes mixed with many other Asian influences. When it comes to food, they are all quite disappointing. Food had no seasoning . We ordered 4 boas, Adobo Brussel Sprouts, Wok Squid, Pork Belly to share. Sadly, only the adobo brussels sprouts were seasoned. Wok squid has no "wok hay"; Port belly were dry and not seasoned. If you are looking for good Asian good experience, this would not be an authentic experience.

I thought I'd try this pan Asian Street eats joint and hauled a couple of 'The Flying V''. Overall pretty yummy, not too bad flavor and good comfort Asian food when you're in the mood for some stodgy grub.My major letdown was the description of "heaps of veggies" was a complete overstatement and a bit of a letdown, when comparing the price and I thought the tofu portion was fairly stingy.Support local businesses

Great place for a unique Asian fusion experience with Filipino inspired dishes mixed with many other Asian influences . Excellent place to have a party. Staff is very accommodating. Also their catering is top notch, used it several times, and they accommodate allergies very carefully.

I was the only customer at the time with one of or the owner of the restaurant eating his meal at the restaurant table while viewing his laptop. He appeared to have authority over the server and wondered in and out of the kitchen at will. All of a sudden this individual sneezed very loudly over his laptop albeit being in the opposite sides of the restaurant. Then a few seconds later he unashamedly sneezed even louder in my direction as he looked at me making eye contact. He made absolutely no effort to cover up his sneezing. Disgusting! I was cringing the droplets and left vey shortly afterwards. I kept quiet because I did not wish for a confrontation as he seemed to have an air of confidence about him. I was furious inside of my mind. This is why I am posting. I am wondering if this man who conducts himself like this with no shame in the open restaurant area in front of a paying customer does in the kitchen when preparing food for patrons. I am certainly not returning as this was very very unhygienic. No trust after that deliberate blatant open displayed behavior. He just did not care a damn! Especially in the presence of a customer!!

Three Ates and a Wedding

Matt and the Bao Down team kindly sponsored our food and catering services for our Filipino-Canadian indie film "Three Ates and a Wedding". The cast and crew absolutely loved all of the asian fusion dishes they made over our 3 day shoot. Matt was super accommodating regarding special dietary requirements including vegan and dairy-free options, too. Make sure to try the brussel sprouts - they are delicious!

Strange, but large, assortment of food. Almost a modern take on the Eatery! Worth a visit.
