Juniper has arty small plates to share, a plethora of drinks and an elegant minimalist design in a trendy part of Vancouver. I had a decent time but for some reason (can't quite put my finger on it) the whole thing didn't quite gel together into the mind-blowing experience I was expecting. There was a paucity of mains options available when we dined but I can highly recommend the IPA sour gin cocktail and the duck. Overall worth trying if there isn't a wait. Drinks were great, we had Doctor's Orders and Man by the Sea. Food missed the mark. We had the tataki and the halibut. Nice big chunks of tuna in the tataki, but unfortunately, the sauce (some weird puree) just tasted gross. I didn't taste any ginger or scallion. The pressed watermelon was just odd. It's like they were trying too hard to be fancy but nothing really went together. Everything was overly salty. The halibut was a bit overcooked. The roasted veggies that came full review

Came by this restaurant accidentally... very good service by the server... they are famous for the Gin collection they have but I do not feel like drinking... ordered two appetizers and one main... fresh ingredients and nice fusion touch but all those dishes are very salty... my partner and I both finished at least two cups of water at the end of the meal
