Udon was too sweet. The service was poor and I had to get chopsticks by myself. Water was not filled by anyone for quite a long time.
We just stopped in just as they opened for a quick drink and bite to eat. The service, food and atmosphere was fantastic and we look forward to visiting again. This time to take our time, enjoy more delicious food and soak it all in, and maybe enjoy some karaoke as well ;)
Food was good. Our main server was really lovely. However, our food came out all at different times, with long gaps between plates. Our nigiri took over an hour. The server was kind and brought gomae as an apology for the wait, acknowledging that there was a problem.
Authentic Japanese sushi bar! Great atmosphere! Luved decor, comfortable booth. Fantastic service! When item was slow, apology and free beer! One item not super fresh, taken off bill. Lobster roll was awesome!! Loved vancouvers oldest restaurant.
The best sushi I've ever had in Vancouver! Incredible quality, and the staff was very attentive even though the restaurant was busy. It was my first time here but I'll be a frequent customer now!
Kamei Royal always is my favorite Japanese restaurant in Vancouver. Because I've been a loyal customer here for 30+ years! The place has such a cozy Japanese vibe and the staff are always super friendly. The food isn't fancy, but it's tasty and comforting — I just love it.
Had dinner at Kamei Royale for the first time to celebrate my wife's birthday. We can't be more happy with our experience. The food were very tasty, sushi & sashimi were fresh and their charcoal grilled Ika & Yakitori sticks were amazing. Lots of restaurants asked if you are celebrating a special occasion but doesn't do anything special. Kamei brought a cheese dessert and sang happy birthday to celebrate my wife's birthday, it was very memorable. Will definitely eat here again the next time we visit Vancouver
Good value from one of the first and longest running Japanese restaurants in downtown Vancouver.
We could enjoy very good Japanese foods at reasonable price.

The HH deal is kind tempting. $16.99 for 1 drink + 2 Food. The drink is good. The food is not that hot enough. Overall, it is fine.

The sushi and sashimi were simply the best we had. My wife however didn't like the fish smell contamination in her chicken teriyaki dish.
Always delicious sushi. We splurged this time on some blue fin and oh my. If you can, absolutely do. Excellent service and kind staff, and regularly busy for a reason.
